Chapter 54 - 《Harry Potter- Ravenclaw》Chapter 54: The Approaching Halloween Feast

Dear Luna, dear Mr. Lovegood,

I only just found out that Halloween isn't just a holiday for Muggles to have fun—it's actually the ancient Celtic New Year. They say that on the eve of Halloween, which is today as I'm writing this letter, the boundary between life and death grows thin, and Death and ghosts wander into our world.

I think that's probably just a rumor, though. After all, Hogwarts is already full of ghosts... like the Grey Lady of Ravenclaw.

Unlike the chatty Fat Friar from Hufflepuff, the Grey Lady is much more reserved. Her knowledge runs deep, and sometimes she even helps students with their homework.

Oh! Fred and George Weasley told me something always happens on Halloween. Honestly, I'm a little excited to see if it's true.

If anything truly extraordinary happens today, I'll turn it into a story and send it to The Quibbler. I hope you won't mind my writing, Mr. Lovegood.

Wishing you both a happy Halloween!

Wyzett Lovegood

Watching Thor soar away with the letter in his beak, Wyzett stretched and stood up.

It was only while writing that letter that he realized—he'd already been at Hogwarts for two months.

Those two months had been packed to the brim. Aside from regular classes Monday through Friday, there was Quidditch training on Tuesdays and private lessons with two professors on the weekends.

In a way, Quirrell and Snape were surprisingly alike.

During his private lessons, Wyzett could always sense the brilliance each professor possessed.

Quirrell was a master of theory, his voice gentle and patient as he taught. Any confusion Wyzett faced was met with thorough explanations.

Snape, on the other hand, was a well of knowledge, though his manner was icy at best. At first, he was harsh and critical, but as Wyzett's skills grew, he became far more taciturn.

No matter how you looked at it, being exposed to this hidden magical knowledge made Wyzett deeply grateful for both professors' guidance.

Even before he reached the Great Hall, a sweet aroma of roasted pumpkin drifted down the corridors.

The suits of armor lining the halls had become unexpectedly lively—if a student walked too close, they'd snap to attention, salute, and shout, "Happy Halloween!"

Not only was the air filled with the scent of pumpkin, but the corridors themselves were lined with enormous pumpkins—each nearly five feet tall, hollowed out and glowing with candlelight. Some ghosts hid inside, ready to leap out and give passing students a fright.

The Great Hall was just as festive. Black curtains bearing castle silhouettes hung from the walls, and Professor Flitwick waved his wand, sending flocks of black-cloth bats fluttering through the air.

Maybe it was the holiday spirit, but even in Charms class, Flitwick was in a cheerful mood as he continued teaching the Levitation Charm.

"Remember the motion we practiced—swish and flick… Yes! Nice and easy, swish and flick! Then say the incantation—Wingardium… Leviosa!"

He demonstrated as he spoke. "When you say 'gar', that's when you start the wand movement… All right, let's practice together!"

"Wingardium… Leviosa!"

The classroom echoed with the chorus of spells.

"Excellent! Wyzett's feather is floating perfectly—just like his flying skills! Ten points to Ravenclaw!" Flitwick never held back praise for his own House.

By now, Wyzett had mastered every nuance of the gesture and pronunciation. The spell wasn't complicated, so succeeding on the first try was nothing special.

The other Ravenclaws were used to it. They gathered around him like he was a teaching assistant, eager for tips on the Levitation Charm.

Flitwick even gave Wyzett a thumbs-up as he checked on the Gryffindors.

Compared to Ravenclaw's camaraderie, Gryffindor's side of the room practically crackled with tension.

Seamus got flustered and accidentally set his practice feather on fire. If Harry hadn't reacted quickly, the flames might've singed off all of Seamus's hair.

Things weren't much calmer between Ron and Hermione. Hermione's voice was sharp: "It's Wingardium Levi-o-sa! You need to draw out the 'gar' and then start the movement."

"Weren't you paying attention? Professor Flitwick just… I mean… maybe you're just nervous. Actually, you were doing fine before…"

Ron's face was as red as his hair. "If you're so good at it, why don't you show us?"

"Fine!" Hermione didn't hesitate. She rolled up her sleeves, flicked her wand, and called, "Wingardium Leviosa!"

"Well done!" Flitwick beamed at the floating feather. "Mr. Weasley, you'll have to work harder! Learn from Miss Granger. Two points to Gryffindor!"

When the bell finally rang, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, already looking forward to the Halloween feast that night.

Terry leaned in, eyes sparkling with secrets. "I heard Professor Dumbledore bought heaps of sweets from Honeydukes!"

"As long as it's not Cockroach Clusters!" Anthony muttered. "My uncle says Professor Dumbledore really likes those."

"I hate Cockroach Clusters!" Michael shuddered, clearly haunted by the memory. "The moment you bite in, it tastes like actual cockroach… And even after you chew, the legs keep wiggling in your mouth!"

Chris gave him a weird look. "You've actually eaten a cockroach? Don't talk to me ever again!"

"What are you on about? Who eats cockroaches?" Michael wailed, tackling Chris in mock outrage.

Wyzett couldn't help but laugh, shaking his head at the spectacle.

Suddenly, Ron's voice came from behind. "Wyzett… did you go to the library today?"

"Of course!" Wyzett nodded. "Are you looking for something? Potions homework?"

"Er…" Ron's face flushed even redder, his voice awkward. "I just wanted to ask if you've seen Hermione."

Wyzett shook his head. "No. Did something happen?"

"I said some awful things…" Ron looked like he might burst into flames. "I told her it's no wonder she doesn't have any friends… that she's as scary as a nightmare…"

Harry chimed in, "I saw Hermione crying. Then she skipped class! She missed History of Magic, Transfiguration, even Flying! For someone like Hermione, that's unheard of. We're worried something's happened, so we want to look for her."

"Hermione? The Gryffindor who's always in the library?" Anthony and the others gathered around. "She doesn't seem that bad to me."

Michael grinned, "Yeah, maybe you Gryffindors are just used to being lazy."

"Different Houses, different habits, I suppose." Wyzett smiled. "Actually, Ron, Hermione has mentioned you lot to me before."

Ron perked up immediately. "Really? What did she say?"
