Chapter 14 - Chapter Fourteen

He was the only one capable of answering all the questions in her mind, the most important of which was hers.

Why did he treat her so harshly? What did she do to deserve all this from him?

Questions she wanted answered, and so did you...!

"You really are crazy. How could you do this to my room?"

Melissa stormed into the room, screaming with extreme emotion at the cold, cross-legged girl, watching her with indignation.

"Don't tell me you're hurt because I blew up your room? That's really shameful! Your pride will be hurt, girl, if you even have such a thing as pride!"

She provokes her, deliberately mocking her. That girl in front of her swears she'll make her taste the pain of love, just as she did to her and took her lover away from her.

"You told me pride? You're funny, my co-wife. The only one who should have pride is you! You look like a piece of gum, and you're holding on to it, at least to preserve your dignity and separate from the man who married another woman!!"

Kristen laughed, provoking her even more when she wasn't moved by the two sentences she said.

Do you expect her to cry and feel hurt by these words? Do you want her to say, "Don't worry, I'll break up with him"? She'll never let that arrogant girl see her broken.

"You shouldn't raise your hopes too high, Melissa, because my holding on to him and not asking for a divorce from him is not because I lack dignity, my dear! But because I won't let you take him on a golden platter...!"

She lied to burn her. She lied because she wanted to see her burn in the fire of love, just as she had.

She lied and will always lie to make her life hell. The look of defiance in Melissa's eyes made Kristen smile indignantly. Is that girl challenging her now?

"We'll see in the end who will get it on a silver platter, my co-wife?"

She's challenging her with all her audacity over who will stay with Jeon and who will leave this house with divorce papers in hand...!

Melissa almost forgot that the person she's betting on is a human being, not an object to be hers.

"I won't challenge you, Melissa, because I've started to pity you for the dreams you build for yourself so often. Rather, I'll let time show you where you belong! And where I will be!"

Kristen was lost in thought about what she had said, truly not knowing where she would be.

She didn't want her co-wife to gloat over her. She no longer trusted anyone... not even herself.

Each of them had their thoughts in one place and their bodies in another, as Melissa left the room without saying anything else, thinking about what Kristine had said.

Thinking about who Jeon would ultimately choose? Who would he stay with? Her or her co-wife?

She saw him standing with the firefighters who had put out the fire, her eyes wandering over his masculine appearance as he stood with both hands in his trouser pockets, wondering when he would be able to prepare the room and restore it to its former glory.

"I'll make sure it's mine alone."

She whispered, her eyes welling with pain at the thought that he wouldn't be hers after all this!

She couldn't bear the pain of him leaving her. She couldn't bear him choosing Christine over her. She would die if he did that to her...

"What happened? What's all this chaos?"

Woojin spoke in surprise at the presence of firefighters in his friend's house. He was even more shocked when he saw the charred room.

"There's definitely no hurricane here, Jeon."

"Don't worry, Kristen was just playing with fire a little."

Jungkook answered him as he passed Melissa, escorting the firefighters out. This happened after he convinced them he was a lieutenant and there was no need to call the police.

"It's a good thing she didn't kill you!"

He hummed and walked to his office so they could talk at ease. Since Woojin was here, there was something important he wanted to discuss.

"Jungkook."

Melissa stopped him when she got in his way. She wanted to talk to him about what Kristen had done, but he really had enough work to do and didn't want to add to their problems.

"If you're going to talk about what happened in the room, then not now. There's another guest room for me to use."

She cursed under her breath as he passed her, heading coldly towards his office.

"Why are you so hot-tempered, Jungkook?"

"Can't you see I'm stressed, Woojin? And the two girls are driving me crazy, especially my dear Kristen."

Woojin laughed sarcastically at his friend's current state.

"First Lieutenant Jeon Jungkook, who was able to defuse a nuclear bomb in three minutes, can't control two girls. I've never seen you like this, man!"

"It's the heart and its actions."

Jungkook placed his hand over his heart dramatically, laughing as did Woojin, but within a second, their expressions turned sharp.

"Any new news? Were they able to locate him?"

The other denied it, speaking.

"The last time they spotted him, he was in America, then disappeared. But now, more importantly, there's some very bad news."

Jungkook frowned, surprised by the bad news Woojin was about to share.

"Chinese Ambassador Wang Fan was assassinated an hour ago, and no statement has been issued to the media."

Jungkook cursed loudly, standing up and pulling his hair angrily. This wasn't part of the plan.

"Damn this luck! How did this happen? I tightened security around him. How could they do this?! And why didn't they tell me right away?"

He's on the verge of madness, unable to believe his plan to protect the ambassador failed...!

This is the first time in his career that someone has died while under Lieutenant Jeon's protection, indicating that there is a spy among them.

"Let's go to headquarters. We'll definitely find a solution there."

Woojin suggested that instead of seeing him pull his hair out in anger, he hurried out of the office. Before he even set foot on the stairs, he was met with his sister's shock at the sight of Melissa's room.

Does everyone who sees his creation get shocked by the appearance of the room? What's wrong with his wife blowing up her co-wife's room? Did she do something really big?

"I don't want to hear the word 'busy,'" Mira. "If you have any questions, you can ask Kristen, who has the problem."

She wasn't really focused on what he was saying, but rather on Woojin, the knight in shining armor she was obsessed with.

At that moment, she remembered how he had saved her from that attack yesterday! He looked like a prince saving his princess from death.

"How cute is that, making her eyes pop out of hearts?"

"Mira, you're going to eat the man with your eyes."

No one pulled her out of her rosy dream world except her rabbit-headed brother, ruining her precious moments as she built her dream world with her dear Woojin.

Speaking of which, he stared at the chandelier in the living room, counting the lights as if he didn't know who the woman in her mind was marrying.

"Your situation is hopeless, sister! Let's go, man."

Jungkook mocked Mira's situation, who loved his friend, and the other friend, who refused to take the relationship further or rejected it, lest she become even more attached to him and suffer when she woke up from her dream world.

"It's true, I haven't punished you yet for your constant lateness. Don't expect me to be oblivious to what you're doing, little girl."

He spoke without paying attention to her, continuing on his way out of the house, which made Woojin curious about Mira's actions.

Mira didn't care about what her brother said, but ignored everything happening in the house and headed to her room.

Why would she care when her brother was there to take care of all his troubles...!

"Aren't you going to do something to that dirty Asian? He destroyed our business, he destroyed our factory, Grandpa."

Amir's agitation was all that could be heard in the quiet surrounding Grandpa Emil's large office.

"One bullet destroyed a large, heavily guarded factory...!"

The man sitting on the sofa snorted, his legs crossed, his cigarette in his hand, inhaling its nicotine. His eyes, sharp as swords, looked at them with utter contempt.

"That wasn't just any bullet, cousin. It came from the rifle of an Asian soldier, the same man who married my sister, who was going to be your wife."

Despite his hatred for that Asian man, Amir enjoyed provoking his cousin, who had just arrived from America an hour earlier. He was the same man nicknamed Saif, who was supposed to marry Kristen..."

"How about I give you a bullet and we get rid of you once and for all, Amir?"

He wasn't threatening! He just pulled out his gun and pointed it at Amir, who didn't flinch or move from his spot.

"Respect is gone, even when I'm here, you ungrateful bastard, you and him?!"

The grandfather rebuked them sharply, so that each of them rolled his eyes in anger. Even though Amir's face was literally covered in bruises, he didn't care much.

He and his brother-in-law were enemies; they constantly beat each other up whenever they saw each other.

"What's the solution now? We've lost billions in merchandise?" Saif's father asked calmly, and silence reigned. Of course, no one wanted to take the risk, as eyes were now all around them, watching for the slightest mistake.

"This guy played it cleverly and managed to draw attention to our work. It's okay, let's stay calm for a while until the eyes go away, and then we'll take revenge on him."

That's what the grandfather said, so they agreed, because they had no other choice.

She smiled slyly at the eavesdroppers as she listened to every word they said, her features returning to calm as she turned around, watching the corridor.

Luckily for her, there was no one there. She sighed in relief and retraced her steps, wanting to return to her room.

"What are you doing here, Rozan?"

She froze in place, as if her mind had stopped working, and her heart trembled when she heard her brother Amir's voice. Saif was behind him, while the adults were still inside.

She turned around, half-naked, trying to fix her throat, which had dried from fear and tension. How could she come up with a suitable lie in a situation like this?

"I... I... I... I wanted to see Saif because I hadn't seen him since the last time he was here, and when I learned he was back, I said, 'Why don't I say hello?' That's why I'm here...!"

She would die, swearing that they, Kadoun, had heard her loud, fearful heartbeats, as well as her nervous stuttering as she spoke.

She would die from those eyes staring at her coldly. Have they discovered her lie and are they going to kill her?

"Girl, why are you so scared? Calm down, Rose. Saif won't eat you, will he?"

Amir laughed, wrapping his arms around her shoulder, which made her heart calm down a little. She was thanking her brother inwardly for supporting her body, otherwise she would have fallen to the ground from her fear and trembling feet.

"Yes, I won't eat you, Rose!"

Saif stepped forward, embracing her with his sides, then pulled away when Amir glared at him sharply, making him roll his eyes in anger at this man who was jealous of his sister...!

-S.. I'm going to my room. Good night.

She didn't know how those words came out of her, but she wanted to escape them quickly. Her body was still trembling from the fear she had experienced in just five minutes.

She entered her room and locked it tightly from the inside, hoping to calm her agitation a little and regulate her rapid breathing.

All this happened when she eavesdropped on them! What would happen when they found out she was relaying news of this house to the enemy they hated most?!

She sat on the bed and took out a phone from the table drawer, not her own! This phone only had one number registered on it, so she quickly dialed it.

She waited a minute until the line was disconnected because the other party didn't answer, which made her a little surprised.

"Why isn't he answering, as usual?"

She called again, but there was still no answer, just like the first time. She stood up and walked around the room, very nervous because he hadn't answered.

It's almost midnight now, and she's supposed to be asleep right now. Because of this important person, she can't sleep...

She's given up on trying, but she'll try just one last time. One last time, it won't hurt, even though she's said that the past ninety-nine times.

"Please answer, don't worry me about you!"

She groaned, hoping he'd answer. She was the one who'd hung up because she was tired of calling him, and he didn't want to be on his phone.

"Roseanne."

Her spine shuddered at the masculine tone of his voice, finally coming out of the phone after so many failed attempts.

"Taehyung."

She spoke in a sullen tone, causing him to sigh deeply, missing her intensely.

"Taehyung's soul and heart."

A shy smile appeared on her lips, making her bite her lips tightly. Oh, he was here to see her so red because of him.

"Why didn't you answer your phone the first time, my love?!"

She lay flat on the bed, her hand on her cheek like a girl in love whose eyes were dinosaurs, not hearts.

"I was taking a shower, my love, so I didn't hear the phone. Is there something serious that you called me to the point where I had a panic attack that didn't end until I heard your enchanting voice?"

He also lay flat on his bed, bare-chested, placing his arm behind his head and engaging in conversation with her.

"You can say I've missed you a lot, without a doubt, my love, but there are also many calamities caused by your brother!!"

Her tone was sarcastic and funny as those scenes replayed in her mind due to the chaos his brother had caused.

"Jungkook?"

He choked at the endless problems his brother was causing, but they were truly unfair to him. Problems are the ones that come to him. He doesn't like problems in the first place!!" Rather, he adores her, so he knows how to welcome her well!

"Tell me everything he's done because I'm coming to see him soon."

"Really!!!!! You're only coming to see him? And you won't see me, the one who misses you like a crazy person? Damn you, you rude men."

He provoked her severely when he said he wanted to see his brother. What about her? Where is she in his life?

"Damn everyone, my love, you are more important to me."

With just two words, he was able to calm her down and make her calm down. How did their relationship begin? And when? All of this will have its time, and you will know everything!

"Tell me now, what crazy thing did my brother do?"

Rozan took a deep breath before she began recounting everything that had happened from her sister's arrival here until her departure with Jiyeon. Of course, she wouldn't forget to mention what he did to the factory and the calamities he brought upon them.
