Chapter 13 - Chapter Thirteen

"oh, you hit the wrong person, Amir."

His mouth was sharp, his eyes shooting sparks, and he punched him hard, just as he had punched him.

"So we're even."

He clapped his hands together as if to dust them off. Amir wiped his cheek, which had been cut for the second time thanks to Jungkook's ring.

Jungkook's ring feels proud that he's cut Amir twice, guys.

"Damn you, you filthy bastard! How dare you destroy my factory? Haaa!?"

Like an enraged bull, he lunged at Jungkook, punching him repeatedly. He didn't even give him a chance to deny what he'd done and play with his nerves.

Amidst the chaos, Kristen scrolled through his phone until they finished their fight segment whenever they met.

A video appeared in front of her of a burning factory that manufactured four-wheel-drive vehicles, and that factory belonged to her family, which Jungkook had blown up.

The factory isn't for manufacturing cars. That's what they say is a way to hide the evidence and weapons they smuggle out of the country. What Jungkook did was lift the veil of their dirty deeds.

She turned her gaze to her husband, who was punching her brother mercilessly until his face bled. Amir's strength was strong, but Jungkook's anger was too strong to counter his punches.

She didn't move from her spot even after seeing her brother almost die under her husband's hand. Her eyes were devoid of emotion for them. If she saw them die in front of her, she would watch without flinching.

"You should have known you're in the wrong place, you bastard. Go find the real person who did what you said at your factory and don't come back to me again...!"

He kicked his stomach so hard that blood spurted from his mouth, staining his face. Neither Mira nor Kristen felt any pity for him, as they were both deeply hurt by him.

As for Melissa, she felt nothing, neither pity nor sadness, since she didn't know who this person was or how close he was to her husband.

"My dear, I regret to say that the one bleeding is the brother of your co-wife who's calmly coming down the stairs now."

She walked over to sit at the table with them, watching the two men carrying her unconscious brother thanks to Jungkook.

"They threw him in front of the Ramis family's house. Move."

He lit another cigarette with his bloody, red hands, almost burning, since he hadn't even cleaned his wound.

"Why are you sitting like this?"

He exhaled smoke from his cigarette, speaking after noticing them sitting quietly in front of him.

"What did Jeon do?"

Kristen stood up in front of him, folding her hands under her chest indifferently. He brazenly ignored what she said and went upstairs.

"I'm talking to you. Answer me, you bastard!"

She screamed at him, making him stop at the first step and turn to her, his mouth cold and composed.

"You blew up their factory, happy now, Mrs. Jeon..!?"

He threw his cigarette, stepping on it before going to his room, hoping to get some relief from the headache caused by Amir...

"I really don't know why you're still clinging to him even though he married another woman and preferred another woman over you?"

She cursed under her breath at that damned thing that never ceased to irritate her, and it seemed she would respond with actions from now on.

Melissa was extremely jealous when they told her, "Mrs. Jeon," and she couldn't bear to remain silent without poisoning her body with a few words that would burn her, just as she felt...!

"Why are you so cheap that you say he prefers you over me!? Did he just happen to sleep with you?"

She raised her right eyebrow at her before laughing mockingly when Melissa remained silent and didn't respond, because he was right.

Jungkook hasn't even touched her yet, and she'd be wrong if she thought he would while Kristen was here.

Mira cleared her head of all this and grabbed her bag to go to her university, the only place where her head wouldn't hurt.

....

The rest of the day passed peacefully for them. Jungkook went to the headquarters after Woojin called him to get some important information.

Melissa was in the garden, quietly reading a book and sipping her coffee.

As for our dear Kristen, she was in her room, planning what she would do to them and how she would begin her revenge.

If they thought she was keeping quiet about everything they did to her, they were wrong! Each of them had a special gift worthy of them...!

At eight o'clock in the evening, Jungkook had returned from the headquarters and was about to go to his room to rest, but his wife and love, Kristen, interrupted.

"Come with me for a moment, my love. There's a special gift waiting for you...!"

He was about to slap himself, perhaps dreaming, when Kristen said, "My love," as she dangled a word he hadn't heard since he'd set foot in this house.

What the hell happened to his wife? Who messed with the numbers? Wasn't she the one who asked him for a divorce that morning?

What happened to her now? Did someone hit her on the head because he was nervous about what she might do to him?!

She didn't even give him a chance to process what was happening. Instead, she led him into an empty room at the end of their suite's corridor, forcing him inside and locking him with a key from the outside.

"Kristen, what the hell are you doing?"

Jungkook shouted when he found the room dark. He interpreted what she was doing as a game, but he didn't know what awaited him.

He wouldn't rest from his wife's way of thinking until she took revenge on him, and he wouldn't rest until he knew why she locked him here!

"I wonder if she finally decided to kill him?"

"Enjoy, dear."

She walked away from the room, unaware of his yelling at her. She went to her own room, specifically the balcony, and sat down on her chair, proudly crossing one leg over the other.

She took out two keys and placed them on the table in front of her. One belonged to Jungkook's room, and the other belonged to Melissa. Then she took out the remote control and, with sharp, hateful eyes, pressed the red button, causing a loud explosion to resound in the house...!

"How fun."

She laughed with pleasure as she heard screaming coming from both directions, which put her in a good mood.

If Jungkook expected her to keep quiet about his madness, he'd dream because she would also respond with even more madness.

Especially since she didn't know until that moment why he treated her so harshly, as if she had killed someone...!

He married another woman and says he won't divorce her or leave her, so why does he treat her so harshly? Why does she feel there's such a huge contradiction between his words and his actions?

She ignored her thoughts about this topic and got up, turned on an exciting song, and danced to it with pleasure, ignoring the screaming coming from her co-wife's suite.

This was just a small part, just a pinch of his ear so she would learn not to provoke her and play with her nerves again...

On the other hand, there was the room where Kristen had locked her husband.

Where silence and darkness were her current state!!

Jungkook stopped screaming her name when he realized she'd deliberately locked him in, and a feeling told him something dangerous was in the room.

His exhaled breaths were barely noticeable, his entire sense focused on the faint sound coming from around him, as if something were wrapping around where he stood.

His heartbeat was steady, so calm, until this calm turned to terrifying anger when the house shook from the explosion he heard.

"Damn you, Kris."

He hissed, closing his eyes tightly, gritting his teeth in extreme anger. At that moment, something hissed around his foot as he squeezed it tightly.

At that moment, his patience ran out, and with all brutality, devoid of any fear, he grabbed the head of that poisonous snake and ripped it off his foot with fury.

He didn't even care if it bit him while he was unaware!

But what was his wife thinking when she put him alone with a poisonous snake in a room with no light?

Did she think she could get rid of him easily if the snake bit him? This was childish of hers, because while she was sleeping comfortably in her bed with her husband, he was sleeping in the middle of the jungle and dangerous places.

That snake didn't move a single hair, not even when he brutally severed its head with both hands. His job involved dealing with many of them, especially at night.

"Your punishment will be doubled, my love."

He hissed, his tone carrying an extreme cruelty that no one but him could understand.

He took off his jacket, tossing it carelessly into the darkness. Even thinking about finding the light switch would be a waste of time.

His eyes were fixed on the door in front of him. Even if he couldn't see it clearly, he unbuttoned his sleeves and rolled them up to his forearms.

"Your mistake is great, and my cruelty to you will be even greater, Ray."

He pulled out his gun, which he kept tucked into the back of his pants with a silencer, just in case there was an attack on his home that wasn't planned by his wife.

This was unlikely to him, knowing full well how cunning Kristen was and how willing she was to blow him up, not just blow up a room.

He raised his hand to aim at the door after putting on the silencer. He just pressed it and the door opened. He put the gun back in its place and went outside to see the chaos.

His first stop was Melissa's suite, wanting to know what had happened to her and whether she was still alive.

He found her sitting on the floor in the living room upstairs, crying loudly with her face covered, her body trembling with fear, not knowing what to do or who to talk to.

He sighed in relief when he saw her okay, even though his heart would have stopped if anything had happened to her.

At least not at this particular time...!

Since he wasn't in the mood to truly console her, he called the fire brigade to put out what Kristen had done.

Why didn't she just blow up the entire house? At least she'd have done him a favor and put him at ease forever.

"John, my love."

He gripped his hand tightly, his features filled with clear annoyance as Melissa rushed into his arms, clinging to him like he was her lifeline from all this chaos.

"Don't you dare say that name again. This is my first and final warning to you...!"

He grabbed both of her arms, pulling her away from him, then turned his back on her, leaving her in shock at his deadly coldness.

How did he do this to her? How did he leave her so coldly, going to her co-wife's room?

"I won't let her enjoy you, Jungkook. You're mine."

She was pulling her hair tightly as tears streamed down her cheeks, screaming and throwing everything in front of her.

Why did he always keep a distance between them every time she tried to get close to him? Why did he deliberately make her suffer and make so many concessions for him?

Why did she cheapen herself to the point where he didn't care about her presence here? All his attention went to his beloved and first wife, he could barely even look at her face!

She was here like a vase; he wouldn't see her until she caught his eye, and that was the result of her love for him...

.....

She danced and moved her body freely, without caring about what was happening or what she had done to that damned woman who had destroyed her life.

She danced as if she was releasing all the negative energy inside her, dancing so that her burning heart might calm down a little.

He leaned against the door, watching her body move as she danced with such contemplation.

Sometimes he asked himself, "Why does an angel like her have to suffer?"

He asks another question, contradictory to what he asked...

Is she really an angel? Or is this what she appears to be?

He's exhausted from thinking about his wife so much that even the anger he felt is gone.

He watches her close her eyes, letting her body sway to the tune of that music. It enchants him, and he sees no one but her.

"I see you're still alive...!"

She opens her eyes, and suddenly, intense eye contact develops between them, as if their eyes are shooting at each other.

"You look like a girl who's in a hurry to become a widow."

"If that'll rid me of you, I'd welcome it very much."

He walks towards her, and with every step, he pulls out a pack of cigarettes that never leaves his pocket.

He takes one and lights it, pausing in front of her and blowing smoke in her face with a cool air.

She didn't move her hair, but stayed where she was, watching him inhale the nicotine and then exhale it without responding. "How did you get a venomous snake that could kill you in less than a second?"

He asked, not out of curiosity, but out of wanting to make sure she hadn't touched that snake.

She folded her arms coldly, not wanting to answer his question, not even having to!!.

"I don't hear you asking about that explosion that happened?!"

"Why should I? You're the one who planned all this, Rei. Next time, raz the entire house like you did before..!"

She frowned in surprise as her heartbeat increased, staring at him with blank eyes, not understanding what he was saying.

Or maybe she did!! But she denied it. Who knows?!

"Why are you here and not checking that that filthy thing is okay?"

She deliberately changed the subject, and he ignored it, sucking on the last of the nicotine and then snorting it out in her face as he answered.

-You weren't important, but everything about you is important.

He threw away his cigarette after playing with her heartbeats, stomping on them harshly, his eyes never leaving hers.

He turned around, giving her his back, and how much she hated that move from him, until her uncontrollable pang of grief stopped him.

"How could you do this when you were the embrace I threw myself into so you could embrace me and make me feel comfortable and safe, but now you no longer make me feel anything but... pain."

His heart trembled with pain, just as hers did, and the pain that ravaged their hearts was beyond their control, so Jungkook didn't turn to her, but continued walking out of the room.

She closed her eyes in frustration as a tear fell from her eyes involuntarily, so she quickly wiped it away, breathing deeply, and leaning her hands on the wall.

So many unanswered questions plagued her mind, giving her a headache, and he had every answer.
