"Mom, my sister isn't working right now, so she doesn't have any money," Lily said softly. "I also think we need to install an air conditioner at home. Otherwise, the living room is unbearable in the summer. We're all drenched in sweat by the time we finish eating."
"Mom, you go ahead and arrange it. I'll transfer the money to you tomorrow," Luis said decisively.
With that one statement from Luis, all three women nodded. The matter was basically settled. Luis felt incredibly pleased. The feeling of being the head of the household, of having the final say with a single word, was especially fantastic.
After the three women finished washing up, they chatted in the mother-in-law's bedroom. Given Ruth's frugal nature, she would definitely suggest that Nancy sleep with her tonight. Turning on an extra air conditioner would be a waste of money.
