Favour sat alone the next morning, her journal open,the page was empty, until she slowly wrote:
THINGS I NEED TO FIX (BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE):
1. Learn how to cook — really cook.
2. Apologize to Daniel — not for love, but for truth.
3. Discover who sent the text.
4. Face Mama Okonkwo.
5. Forgive myself.
6. Tell Daniel everything. The full truth. Even the part I've hidden from myself.
Her hand shook after she wrote the last line.
Because the final secret?
It had nothing to do with food.
It had everything to do with why she lied.
And that was a truth even she hadn't wanted to face.
