The Invitation
Three days passed.
Daniel barely spoke to her, he left early, returned late, and ate in silence.
Then, on the fourth day, he came home with a calm tone and a strange invitation.
"My mom is hosting a dinner this Sunday."
Favour's stomach twisted. "Dinner?"
"She wants to meet her daughter-in-law properly."
Favour blinked. "I thought she already did. At the wedding."
"She says she didn't really get to talk to you. This is her chance."
She could hear the weight behind his words. This wasn't just dinner,this was a test.
Favour nodded slowly "Alright i will go."
Daniel gave her a small smile but it didn't reach his eyes.
