Kaito Ren's face twitched at the sight of Zombieman. He'd only just settled him in yesterday!
"I'm here for class. You forgot I'm a student here, didn't you?"
Zombieman shrugged, offering a plausible excuse.
"Then stay in class! What are you doing in my dorm?!"
Kaito Ren was exasperated. This was ridiculous!
"Oh, Combat Techniques is the second class at noon. I came early, wandered around, and somehow ended up here."
Zombieman explained.
Kaito Ren didn't bother listening. The more Zombieman spoke, the more absurd it became.
"Kaito Ren, who's this? Your friend? I've never heard you mention him."
Asaka Hanako, observing Zombieman with curiosity, looked like a wife investigating her husband's friends.
"Sort of. We just met."
Kaito Ren turned away, wanting to avoid Zombieman.
"That's harsh! You helped me find a place yesterday. Doesn't that count as knowing each other?"
Zombieman feigned hurt, his eyes filled with a touch of melancholy, like a heartbroken lover.
Finding a place?!
What was going on?! Could it be…?
Asaka Hanako looked at Kaito Ren and Zombieman with disbelief, a terrible thought forming in her mind.

Kaito Ren was speechless. He'd never realized Zombieman was so shameless and dramatic! It looked like they were an item! What if people misunderstood?!
He had to stop this!
"I'm full. And stop following me!"
He couldn't fight him, so he'd run!
Kaito Ren bolted from the dorm, disappearing in an instant, to avoid further embarrassing comments from Zombieman.
Relieved that Zombieman hadn't followed, Kaito Ren decided to explore the area and test Little Black's abilities on some Wolf-level monsters. This seemingly insignificant creature had Wolf-level Upper strength.
He soon encountered a Wolf-level Lower wolf monster—perfect for testing. This level would allow him to intervene if anything went wrong.
"Hey! Give me some cooperation!"
But no matter how much Kaito Ren urged or prodded, Little Black remained motionless in his palm.
What the…?
Kaito Ren was exasperated. This wasn't a snake; it was a pig! All it did was eat and sleep!
This is your fault!
Kaito Ren gritted his teeth.
"If you don't listen, I'll stop giving you blood!"
He smirked, thinking Little Black would finally cooperate.
But a second later, he froze. Little Black simply turned over and continued sleeping.
WHAT THE HELL!!!
Kaito Ren lost it. He flung Little Black, like a projectile, at the wolf monster.
The wolf monster, seeing the projectile, opened its mouth to bite. Then…

Kaito Ren was surprised and delighted. Little Black had easily defeated the monster.

Little Black, back in Kaito Ren's hand, protested, then bit Kaito Ren, sucking four mouthfuls of blood before falling asleep, its belly round and full.
Kaito Ren remembered the system notifications. He could get rewards from Little Black's kills! It was like having a second account! Double the monsters, double the fun!
Kaito Ren smiled, looking at Little Black. Free labor!
"Hey, wake up! Let's keep going!"
But Little Black remained asleep. Kaito Ren wouldn't throw Little Black like a projectile again. He'd wait until Little Black woke up.
Tears welled up in Kaito Ren's eyes as he imagined his future of effortless leveling up.
Then, a commotion caught his attention.
"Hey, where are A, B, and C? They've been gone too long!"
"Who knows? Useless things, can't even handle a simple task."
"We'll beat them up when we see them! They made us come all this way!"
"Yeah! They deserve a beating!"
A, B, and C… those names sounded familiar!
Those were the cyborgs he'd defeated!
Could it be…?
Kaito Ren peeked from the bushes. Several monsters were walking away, talking amongst themselves. He couldn't hear them clearly.
