Chapter 204 Ash and Gary, the Twin Bonds of Pallet Town!

"Ash, you lost."
From behind, Gary saw Ivysaur enter the ball and laughed loudly, unceremoniously declaring the result.
Sliding tackle? Extreme Rage?
He wanted to give the person who invented this Strategy a sliding tackle to the head.
However, he had predicted this, and Ash had been defeated just as he expected.
Now, it was time for his one-man show!
"Clang!"
"Clink!"
Before Gary could throw out a new Poké Ball, the sounds of walls being smashed and ground being dug came from above their heads. A fair amount of rubble even fell from the ceiling, covering the two of them in dust.
After all this time, a new King of the Hikers had naturally been born. His first order of business was to command the other Hikers from the world above to continue digging for Fossils.
Due to the two terrifyingly powerful Giga Impacts from the Aerodactyl earlier, the commotion throughout the Deep Pit Cave was considerable and had naturally attracted the attention of the Hikers. They secretly thought that such a disturbance must mean some rare treasure was about to be unearthed, and they all began to dig with all their might at the rock layer directly above the two boys.
Many of the Hikers knew geology and had already figured out that there was a hollow Deep Pit Cave below, likely containing something big.
The sounds were getting closer and closer. In less than 5 minutes, the ceiling here would be broken through, exposing their activities.
"Tsk, we're out of time."
The two exchanged a look. As the saying goes, plans can't keep up with changes. It was debatable whether they could defeat this Aerodactyl by fighting it one-on-one now, but it was almost impossible to determine the Outcome within five minutes.
Even Gary's current plan involved a "bladder strategy"—to slowly wear the Aerodactyl down.
"Let's team up, Gary," Ash suddenly proposed.
Gary frowned slightly. Feeling the growing noise above his head, he could only relax his brow.
"I don't like it, but it seems this is the only way."
With that, the two slapped hands, stood shoulder to shoulder, and stepped up to the edge of the chasm, their gazes bright as they looked at their target.
In that instant, it was as if two faint streams of light lit up on their bodies, secretly connecting.
The twin Bonds of the True Newbie and the Unlucky Person were both maxed out.
Naturally, Ash also had his 'reckless youth' bond, and Gary, his 'rich sucker' bond.
No matter which of them caught it, this Aerodactyl would ultimately be sent to Professor Oak's Backyard in Pallet Town. In the future, as long as the two of them visited often, talked to it, and gave it gifts, there would always be a chance to entice it onto their team.
But if that group of Hikers burst in, after a scramble, this Aerodactyl's final fate would likely be getting sent to the Pokémon League and conscripted by The Officials.
In the end, it would most likely be intercepted by Champion Lance. After all, he had an understanding of Flying Types and even had an Aerodactyl of his own. However, that one was said to be a machine-revived Aerodactyl with only 50% of its Prehistoric Bloodline activated.
An Aerodactyl with a rich, 100% Prehistoric Bloodline, plus high intelligence—even a Champion would drool over it.
"Come out, my baby!"
"I choose you, my Ace!"
The two no longer hesitated. They let out a low shout in unison and threw their Poké Balls forward.
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
With two flashes of red light, two Pokémon of completely opposite forms appeared before them.
One was a skinny monk, the other a fat monk.
Before Gary stood a dark-gold humanoid Pokémon with a fox-like face and a long beard like an old man's. Its slender body stood upright on the ground, holding two silver spoons that shimmered with a strange light.
An invisible wave of telekinesis gathered around it, and its strength looked truly extraordinary.
"Is that...?"
Ash was slightly stunned. This Pokémon looked a bit like one he had encountered before from an opponent—Sabrina's Pokémon.
"Pokedex Beep: Alakazam, the evolved form of Kadabra. It can control powerful psychic powers and has a higher IQ than most humans. There have been cases in some regions of Alakazam taming humans."
Ash's Pokedex prompted.
On the other side, before him was a large, blackish-purple fatty with a pair of truly blood-red eyes, a gaping, cavernous mouth, and two small, chubby hands crossed in front of its body. Its dangerous and gloomy aura was equally impressive, not inferior in the slightest!
As soon as it appeared, the temperature in the surrounding cave dropped considerably, becoming chillingly grim.
Ash couldn't help but nod. This Gengar had finally not let him lose face in front of his rival; its entrance was very cool!
You can always trust Gengar!
Unless a female Gengar was standing next to it!
"Bzzzt..."
Gary's Pokedex also gave a prompt.
Seeing the Pokémon each other sent out, the two gave a slight nod of approval. After all, in the Kanto Region, Alakazam and Gengar are considered parallel and symmetrical Pokémon, both belonging to the powerful T1 tier.
Similar relationships include Weedle and Caterpie... Gyarados and Milotic... Torkoal and Kyogre.

The two said the same thing, then looked at each other with dark lines on their faces.
Both Gengar and Alakazam are super glass cannons with high speed and high output. In singles, they are one-in-a-hundred masters, but using them for a double battle is a bit idiotic.
Two ADCs in the bot lane?
But soon, the two once again fixed their gazes on the Aerodactyl directly ahead. There was no longer any hesitation in their eyes, only a similar and intense Battle Intent.
A corner of Gary's mouth curled into a handsome smile, his gaze profound:
"Then let's cover each other."
Ash, on the other hand, tipped the brim of his hat, full of high spirits:
"Attack together."
"We'll finish you in five minutes!!" the two shouted in a low voice simultaneously.
Alakazam and Gengar understood. They flashed to either side with extreme speed, approaching the Aerodactyl from two directions at once.
Ash and Gary were childhood friends who grew up together in Pallet Town. Their chemistry was all a matter of whether they wanted it to work.
If they didn't, they had zero chemistry; they would fall flat on their faces on the first step of a three-legged race.
But once they did, their coordination was seamless!
"Alakazam, use Future Sight!!" Gary launched the first attack!
"Kazam!"
To one side, Alakazam raised its silver spoons and pointed them at the Aerodactyl. Gathering power, a strange white light began to glow on its body, as if something was happening.
"Gyaooo!!"
The Aerodactyl sensed a hint of danger from the two Pokémon. The battle sense of a prehistoric Pokémon was extremely sharp. This time, it wouldn't just let the opponent attack for free. With a flap of its rock wings, it directly formed several hard stones in the air, preparing to throw them to interrupt Alakazam's action.
"Gengar!!"
Gengar's large, fat body suddenly appeared right in front of the Aerodactyl. It opened its cavernous mouth and made a Scary Face at point-blank range, forcefully interrupting the Aerodactyl's stone attack.
The Aerodactyl was furious. A ball of fierce flames ignited in its mouth as it was about to bite the purplish-black fatty, but the latter's figure flashed, pulling back three or four meters to stick to the rock wall and maintain its distance.
"Kazam..."
Alakazam also lowered the spoons in its hands. It seemed the Move had been successfully activated.
But there seemed to be no other change.
Gary, however, remained unfazed and commanded again:
"Continue, Alakazam, use Guard Split!"
Once he entered a battle condition, that previous appearance of a rich, second-generation brat vanished without a trace. All that remained was a Trainer whose mind had already calculated five or six layers deep, with a strategic overview far superior to his peers.
As Alakazam waved its spoons, this time, a strange white light descended upon both it and the Aerodactyl simultaneously.
