Chapter 120 - Chapter 120 – Danzo’s Final Cowardly Blaze

The moment Danzō saw Shisui's Mangekyō, his heart sank.

He had thought that since he brought over twenty Root jōnin with him, he could easily take down Tobi.

Unexpectedly, the game that was supposed to be a sure win turned into a huge disadvantage because of the two variables—Kakashi and Shisui!

Even with his extremely conceited personality, he didn't think he could handle Kakashi and two pairs of Mangekyō at the same time.

Kakashi saw this and smirked. Great. Twenty Root jōnin down in one genjutsu, and Danzō's face looks like someone just told him ramen is discontinued.

Distinguished Heavenly Gods: Light—a new eye technique Shisui had gained due to a change in his motivation for opening his eyes.

It could pull a group of people into the illusion world at the moment of activation.

In this world constructed by Shisui, he could not only directly attack and kill the opponent's soul—he could also force-read and permanently delete the other party's memories.

In Shisui's illusion world, he was God.

Of course, since it was an AoE skill, it wouldn't be that effective against a ninja with rock-hard willpower and similar strength to Shisui.

Even so, it was still a perfect move to clear the field.

Just like what happened right before their eyes—an illusion was activated, and more than twenty Root jōnin instantly collapsed, unable to fight back.

"Wind Release: Shunshin!"

Suddenly, in front of Kakashi's astonished eyes, Danzō, with wind-attribute chakra swirling around him, bolted toward the village.

"…Really? You made a big speech about killing us in seconds and now you're running? You don't even want your subordinates? At least leave a thank-you note for Shisui."

Kakashi was a little surprised by Danzō's actions—but only for a second. Then he stepped back, left hand on the scabbard, right hand on the hilt, as violent lightning chakra condensed around his body.

"Hatake Swordsmanship—Lightning Flash: Super Speed."

Boom!

Kakashi pushed off with his feet, transforming into a streak of lightning that vanished from the spot.

The next moment, he passed right in front of Danzō.

Ultimate lightning, ultimate speed, ultimate damage.

Kakashi stopped without looking back and slowly sheathed his sword.

Shhhk!

As the blade clicked into place, a fountain of blood erupted from Danzō's body. His torso began to slide away from his legs.

"How… could it be… so fast?"

Danzō, just regaining awareness from Shisui's genjutsu, stared at Kakashi gloomily. He had never expected that even with wind-enhanced speed, Kakashi would still get ahead and strike him down in one move.

"Abandoning your men and running from the battlefield… You sure you're qualified to compete with Sarutobi Hiruzen for Hokage? Or are you aiming for the title of Konoha's fastest coward?"

"You—!"

Kakashi's words pierced Danzō's heart like a kunai wrapped in lightning.

He recalled the battlefield years ago, when Tobirama had asked who was willing to act as bait. He'd been ready to speak first—until the crushing fear of death froze him in place.

Only when Hiruzen said, "Teacher, I will go," did he breathe again. And then Tobirama had said, "Monkey, you will be Hokage from now on."

Shame, jealousy, regret—Danzō had drowned in all of them.

From that day on, Hiruzen stood in the light while Danzō became the Root in the shadows.

The years passed—until the day Danzō realized Hiruzen had grown old. Weak. A shadow of the fearless "Monkey" he once was.

That's when Danzō began to plan. In the mirror each night, he told himself it wasn't fear back then—just bad timing. The Hokage seat was his by right.

And now, Kakashi's cold words ripped that scar wide open.

"Hmph. What do you know? This is called a strategic retreat! If Root is gone, I can rebuild it. But Konoha can't be without me!"

Strategic retreat? Right. And Jiraiya's just a quiet bookworm.

"As long as I'm alive, there's still hope!" Danzō thought, clinging to the idea.

"So, you'll never be as good as Sarutobi Hiruzen in your life," Kakashi said, shaking his head.

If Danzō had fought to the end, Kakashi might have respected him. But this—cowardice dressed up as tactics—was pathetic.

"Obito, let's finish this together!"

"Finally!" Obito grinned, running over. If not for wanting Kakashi to have his duel, he'd have ended Danzō himself already.

"Wind Release: Vacuum Bullet!"

Danzō attacked first, trying to take the initiative.

"Wind Release: Suppression!"

"Fire Release: Explosive Wind Dance!"

Obito used Kamui to distort space into a vortex storm, then added rotating fire snakes to form a massive flaming spiral.

At the same time, Kakashi's high-density storm barrage merged with the vortex flames, creating a roaring tornado of fire.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The wind fed the flames, and the fire tornado swallowed Danzō's vacuum bullets before surging toward him with searing heat.

Seeing he couldn't block it, Danzō tried to use wind to escape.

"Kamui!"

Obito's gaze locked on Danzō's head—space distorted, freezing his body.

The next instant, his head exploded, and his body was consumed by the flames.

To be continued....
