Sabo started seriously wondering if Selo had eaten multiple Devil Fruits.
No wonder Selo was Boa Hancock's boyfriend.
Honestly, Sabo kind of wanted a boyfriend as badass as Selo.

Sabo and the Vermilion Bird, from Little Sparrow, didn't know what Selo was planning…
But they didn't hesitate.
They poured intense flames into the Rasengan forming between Selo's hands.
Blazing Vermilion Bird fire rained down from the sky, and searing flames blasted from Sabo.
The spinning Rasengan rapidly absorbed both fires, swirling them together into a blazing inferno.
In the blink of an eye, the Rasengan swelled to over 100 meters in diameter and kept growing.
Katakuri's brows furrowed.
If he let that thing keep growing, he couldn't guarantee he'd survive.
Determined, Katakuri gathered all the flowing mochi around him and coated it with Armament Haki.
"Knight Mochi!!!"
The mochi surged and formed a dark-armored knight several hundred meters tall.
With a shout, Katakuri sent the massive knight charging straight toward Selo in a fearless rush.
Seeing the knight charging at him, Selo had no choice but to stop charging flames.
Originally, he'd hoped to make a 1,000-meter Rasengan, but…

Selo roared and hurled the massive, flaming sphere at the oncoming Knight Mochi.

Selo was speechless for a moment.
Then he went to check on the others.
Little Sparrow, still in Vermilion Bird form, was completely unscathed and now perched calmly on Selo's shoulder.
As for Sabo,
He had just jumped into the sea to save Koala, who had been blasted into the water.
And because he was now a Devil Fruit user, he immediately began to drown.
So Selo had to fish both Sabo and Koala out of the ocean himself.
"Blub blub, why can't I swim anymore?!"
"Idiot Sabo! You're a Devil Fruit user now! The sea curses you!"
Despite calling him an idiot, Koala looked utterly blissful remembering how Sabo had jumped in to save her without hesitation.
Selo, not in the mood to watch them flirt, started searching for Katakuri.
He found him lying motionless in a crater.
Selo walked over casually.
"So this is Big Mom's so-called 'greatest masterpiece'? Hah."
"Tch." Katakuri sneered in disdain at Selo's mocking.
He had indeed been defeated…
But he thought Selo's win was dishonorable.
A 3-on-1 beatdown? Coward.

As a Charlotte, Katakuri would never allow himself to be enslaved.
He assumed Selo was dragging him back to the Red-Haired Pirates' base.
After all… he still truly believed Selo was Red-Haired Shanks' cousin.

Then, Selo stuffed one of Katakuri's stinky socks into his mouth.
To avoid attracting attention, he also shoved him into a burlap sack.

A few surviving Big Mom Pirates had the nerve to shout at Selo.

Still focused on the mission, Selo shouted up at the airborne pirate:
"Tell Big Mom, if she wants Katakuri back, she'll have to go through my cousin Red-Haired Shanks!!"
In that moment, Selo felt glad to have such a "cousin."
At least he could take the blame.
Given Katakuri's importance to the Big Mom Pirates, Big Mom would cause a scene at Red-Haired's base.
Even if not to save Katakuri, at least to save face.
Who knows, maybe she'd even lead her entire crew to go to war with Shanks.
At the very least, it should keep Shanks out of the Marineford War.
That meant Selo's two missions, stopping Shanks and his crew from interfering, were likely complete.
And with Big Mom busy, she wouldn't interfere either.
