Chapter 117 - Chapter 114: The Hashirama Experiment

Early the next morning.

Obito sat in his study, crimson light flickering across his mask. His Sharingan widened as he held the strange, glowing item in his hand.

"…It worked."

His tone was equal parts disbelief and triumph.

The crimson item pulsed faintly, warm with vitality. It wasn't just any trinket...it was Hashirama's cells, refined, stabilized, and made into a form Obito could finally use.

It hadn't been easy. Ever since obtaining that batch of Hashirama cells, Obito had thrown himself into experimentation.

At first, he had simply tossed a vial of Hashirama's liquid cells into the Devouring Coffin, expecting an easy win.

But the Coffin spat out nothing usable. Of course. Raw liquid didn't count as a stable "item."

So he escalated.

He started dragging spies and criminals into his dungeon, Snow Country had no shortage of them.

"For science," he told himself (and definitely not because he enjoyed seeing Danzo's leftover rats squirm).

He tried different approaches:

Inject first, then fuse.

The result? The subject's body couldn't endure the surge of vitality. Within minutes, their flesh swelled, bark sprouted, and pop they turned into a very ugly tree. A screaming, flailing tree.

Fuse into items first, then inject.

That went even worse. The cells and vitality warred inside the victim, gnawing at each other endlessly.

The poor bastard didn't die immediately but lived in constant agony, like two rabid ferrets fighting in his bloodstream.

Every attempt ended in failure. No matter how Obito arranged the process, the Hashirama cells rejected everything.

After burning through several portions and a handful of unlucky test subjects, even Obito had to pause.

"…This is starting to feel like Orochimaru's diary," he muttered once, disgusted with himself. "Next thing you know I'll be growing snake tails out of my ass."

But today, inspiration struck.

What if, instead of letting the Devouring Coffin passively handle it, he actively guided the fusion?

Refine his own chakra into the mix, stabilize the reaction, and force the cells to merge under his control?

He tried. He held his breath.

And it worked.

The cells and vitality knitted together, harmonizing. The item in his hand was the proof: a perfect crimson Hashirama cell catalyst.

"…Heh. About time."

The grin stretched across his face. His mind immediately jumped to the next step.

"Now then… time to find another lucky volunteer."

Snow Country's dungeon was full of them... spies, traitors, and people who just had the bad luck of crossing his path.

Obito selected one, tossed him inside the experiment chamber, and fed him the crimson item.

He watched, Sharingan spinning, analyzing every reaction.

At first, the subject writhed. His skin reddened. Veins bulged. Then...stability. His breathing evened out. His chakra grew robust, his life force surging rather than collapsing.

Obito's lips curled.

"It really worked…"

For a moment he looked like a mad scientist who had just cracked the code to immortality.

Then, as if it were nothing, he hurled the stabilized subject into the Devouring Coffin for storage.

One more pawn for later.

Satisfied, Obito returned to his study and sent word for Terumi Mei, Uzuki Yugao, and Pakura.

They arrived quickly. Mei's eyes immediately narrowed with suspicion...she had seen that look on Obito's face before.

Yugao looked calm, though curious.

Pakura… well, Pakura still hadn't gotten used to Obito's brand of "surprises."

Yugao was the first to speak.

"Is there something you need us to do?"

Obito nodded.

"Yeah. And relax...it's a good thing. I'm going to help you three get stronger."

The moment those words left his mouth, Mei and Pakura stiffened.

"Wait… stronger… together…?" Mei's cheeks flushed red. Her imagination went places it really shouldn't.

Pakura's face turned beet red as well.

No way… he's going to

Her thoughts spiraled. She had already resigned herself to eventually sleeping with him.

Obito wasn't exactly subtle about collecting women the way some people collected Pokémon but for her first time to be some sort of… group event?!

Th-this is too shameless! Am I really going to lose it alongside two others?!

Pakura's heart pounded. Her body trembled. She wanted to crawl into a hole and never come out.

Obito, of course, caught their expressions immediately. His brow twitched.

"…The hell are you two imagining this time?"

His eyes narrowed.

"Do you think I dragged you in here early in the morning just to pin you down? What, am I running a harem comedy in your heads all day long?"

Yugao blinked at their embarrassed faces, then deadpanned:

"…You two seriously thought he meant that? Tch. Idiots."

"Why would you even think like that? That's so weird." Yugao continued, giving them both a look like they'd grown extra heads. Seriously… what kind of brain process do these two even have?

Pakura and Mei's expressions twitched when Yugao flat-out called them idiots.

Of course, they couldn't exactly say it out loud that one of them had already been fucked beyond repair, and the other was just nervously waiting her turn to get done too.

With a sigh, Obito reached into his cloak and pulled out three crimson items, glowing faintly.

"Finally...It's here!"

The moment she saw the items, Yugao's eyes lit up.

Having already used one before, she knew exactly how valuable they were.

Pakura, however, still looked puzzled.

Of the three, only Yugao had personally experienced the powerful effects of them.

Terumi Mei hadn't used it, and the last time Pakura did, her condition was already so critical that she fainted immediately afterward.

Naturally, she never truly understood what these items were.

Seeing their confusion, Obito calmly explained.

"This thing...just swallow one, and your body will be strengthened."

When the explanation sank in, both Mei and Pakura looked at the glowing items in his hand with disbelief written across their faces.

"So incredible?"

"Not only that," Obito smiled faintly, "these three are specially refined. The effect will be even stronger."

His gaze shifted between the three women. "So, who's first?"

"I'll go!"

Yugao, who had already endured the process once before, immediately raised her hand without hesitation.

Obito chuckled. "Alright, you first."

And so, he began refining and fusing the Sage Body Items into them one by one.

"Ahhh!!"

When Terumi Mei's turn came, she screamed in pain, completely unprepared for the overwhelming sensation tearing through her body.

"It hurts so much! Why didn't you warn me?"

"Hehe, you never asked," Yugao replied smugly, secretly proud of how she herself had gritted her teeth through the same agony.

If you've already suffered under the storm, why let others hide under an umbrella?

Pakura, however, was wary this time. She braced herself, determined not to be caught off guard.

Moments later, after her refinement was complete, Pakura's expression shifted from tension to astonishment.

She could feel it, her physical power and chakra reserves had surged beyond anything she'd ever known.

"This is… amazing!" she whispered, stunned.

"The benefits don't stop there," Obito said calmly, a faint curve tugging at his lips. "What you've just obtained is the Sage Body."

"Sage Body? What's that?" Yugao asked curiously.

Obito didn't hold back. He gave them a clear, detailed explanation, from the origins of the Sage Body to its special abilities.

"In short," he concluded, "this is the body inherited from the Sage of Six Paths… the very same body possessed by the First Hokage."

The three women were left stunned.

Yugao's eyes widened. "Wait… so that means… I can use Wood Release?"

"Well…" Obito narrowed his eyes with a faint smile. "Although this Sage Body isn't quite at the level of Hashirama's original, you can try. Wood Release might be possible."

He silently compared the cells in his mind. These cultured versions were naturally weaker than what Madara once fused, but far superior to Yamato's diluted grafts.

Still, the true value to him wasn't Wood Release, it was the physical vitality and vast chakra reserves.

After all, even if Yamato's Wood Release amounted to little more than landscaping, his chakra control allowed him to create entire waterfalls for Naruto's training, day after day. That was proof enough of the enhancement.

"Success! I really can use Wood Release!"

Yugao gasped as a small sapling sprouted in her palm.

Terumi Mei and Pakura both leaned closer, marveling at the green shoot.

"You're that excited about Wood Release?" Obito raised a brow.

Yugao shook her head quickly. "It's not that… It's just, I grew up hearing the legends of the First Hokage."

"They said his Wood Release ended wars and calmed the chaos of an era. Of course I wanted to see it with my own eyes!"

"Then prepare to be disappointed," Obito said bluntly. "Your Wood Release won't compare to the original's. My advice? Don't try to change your entire fighting style."

"Treat it as a secondary ability at best."

"Subconscious combat habits are carved into your bones...you won't erase them overnight."

The three nodded seriously.

"Still," Obito added with a smirk, "if you really want to witness the original Wood Release… I can show you."

Their eyes lit up. "Really?!"

A short while later, far from the city, deep in the snowy deserts of the Land of Snow

"Wood Release: Nativity of a World of Trees!"

With a clap of his hands, Obito unleashed a torrent of chakra.

In an instant, a massive forest erupted from the frozen ground. Lush greenery blanketed the endless white, transforming the barren snowfields into an overwhelming sea of life.

"This… this is the Wood Release that calmed the troubled times…"

The three kunoichi stared in awe.

"The Forest of Death in Konoha Village," Yugao whispered, astonished. "It looks just like this…"

"Of course it does," Obito snorted. "The Forest of Death was created by Hashirama in the first place."

"Eh?! I… I never knew that." Yugao felt speechless.

Obito ignored her surprise and reached into his cloak. "By the way, there's another little bonus."

He handed each of them a chakra test strip.

"Test it."

The results appeared almost instantly: all three of them now possessed all five elemental attributes.

It was no coincidence. Obito had carefully refined the Items, tailoring each one to complement the women's chakra affinities and complete the missing elements.

"Full five attributes…!" The three exchanged amazed smiles.

Meanwhile, Obito was already calculating his reserves. The remaining Hashirama cells would allow him to make about five more Items.

That would be enough for now. And if it wasn't? Well, he could always "borrow" more from Orochimaru.

--

In the days that followed, the three women trained with renewed determination, eagerly adapting to their Sage Bodies and honing their newly gained power.

Obito, on the other hand, turned his focus back to the research department. He retrieved three additional chakra cannons, adding to the one he already had, bringing the total to four and began refining them into true weapons of war.

Now that his women possessed Sage Bodies, their chakra reserves were finally high enough to operate the cannons.

Even if the weapons couldn't be fired continuously, they could still be used as devastating long-range snipers when needed.

A terrifying new force was beginning to take shape.
