Chapter 61 - Chapter 59: The Real One Piece… Was Central Heating All Along

"Not bad… for most ninjas."

Terumi Mei studied the armor carefully, her voice thoughtful.

"Being able to amplify chakra and block ninjutsu… if I didn't have a Kekkei Genkai, it might actually take some effort to deal with."

Yugao, on the other hand, didn't even hesitate.

"It's not good. It's solved easily by slashing their throat."

"Humph!"

Terumi Mei snorted and threw Yugao a cold glare before turning away with a huff, refusing to look at her.

"This is the Doto Kazahana?"

She finally turned her attention to the man lying half-buried in the rubble.

"That's right," Obito replied casually.

"He's still alive. Why don't you just kill him?"

Kill him now? Then how am I supposed to watch his face crumble when he realizes everything he ever wanted is gone? I want that crying-bitch expression burned into my memory.

Obito smirked behind his mask.

"Don't worry. I'll kill him tomorrow."

He waved a hand lazily.

"Set up camp here tonight. Starting tomorrow, some of us are going to be busy."

The night passed in silence.

At dawn, the first white light of the sky stretched across the frozen landscape. The earth gleamed under a faint layer of frost.

Obito carried both Koyuki and the unconscious Doto while leading Terumi Mei and Yugao toward the legendary Rainbow Ice Wall of the Land of Snow.

"What are we doing here?"

Yugao's tone was filled with curiosity as she stared at the towering ice walls. The walls stretched like crystal monoliths, catching the sunlight in soft, shimmering colors.

"Of course," Obito said with a straight face,

"we're here to find the One Piece."

"…One Piece?"

Yugao and Terumi Mei both stared at him, dumbfounded.

"Ahem. Just watch. You'll understand," Obito said, his voice turning smug.

"It's a treasure even I find amazing."

He tossed the unconscious Doto onto the snow like a sack of potatoes, then pulled out a bottle of water. Without hesitation, he poured it all over Doto's face.

The water ran down his cheeks, over his nose and lips, dripping along his chin before instantly freezing into a shiny sheet under the frigid air.

"Ah—!"

The icy chill snapped Doto awake. He thrashed violently, but quickly realized something horrifying: no matter how much he struggled, his body wouldn't move.

"W-What did you do to me?!"

"Calm down. It's just a little sealing. Don't be such a pussy," Obito said, hauling him up into a kneeling position.

Curse Seal of Paralysis.

The same technique he'd used on Terumi Mei before was now wrapped tightly around Doto's body, leaving him frozen and helpless.

"Rainbow Ice Wall…" Doto muttered as his panicked eyes scanned the massive, glimmering wall before him.

"What… what are you planning to do to me here?"

Obito tilted his head, eyes flat and unreadable.

"…Looks like you've calmed down."

"Hmph!"

"When I killed Sōsetsu and took this country, I knew one day someone might kill me and take it back."

Doto Kazahana's voice was bitter, yet there was a flicker of twisted pride in it, like he wanted to be remembered as some tragic hero.

"Oh?"

Obito tilted his head, genuinely surprised for a moment.

"I didn't expect that from you. I thought you were just an ordinary clown."

A faint smirk curved under his mask.

"…But it turns out you're an interesting clown."

Truthfully, Obito felt nothing about Doto's past killing his brother, usurping the throne, all that melodrama.

He wasn't some self-righteous god of justice.

He wasn't even pretending to be a good person.

Cannibalism, patricide, fratricide… He'd read so many web novels and seen so many anime in his old life, this kind of thing was practically a Tuesday.

In this world? It was real.

The strong eat, the weak get eaten, and the winner writes the story.

"Hmph!"

Doto stayed silent this time, his teeth grinding.

Obito crouched down in front of him, his single eye gleaming playfully.

"Heh… Don't you want the treasures of the Kazahana family?"

"I brought you here so you could see them with your own eyes."

He leaned closer, voice dripping with mock kindness.

"Your life? You're not keeping that. But I'm letting you die without regrets."

He straightened up, grinning under the mask.

"So… thank me."

From the side, Yugao rolled her eyes.

Here he goes again… this villain mode of his is so annoying and so good at the same time.

She didn't know what the Kazahana treasure was yet, but she was certain it wasn't what Doto was expecting.

Sure enough, Doto's eyes lit up with a flash of hope.

Obito reached into his cloak and pulled out the hexagonal item, tossing it to Koyuki.

"Go on. Your father's treasure... you open it."

"Hmm!"

Koyuki nodded hard, gripping the key with trembling hands.

She walked to the old launch pad, took a deep breath, rose on tiptoe, and carefully inserted the hexagonal key into the slot.

Instantly, the launch pad lit up with soft white light, which spread in six directions like streams of magic.

'It's the Road Poneglyph… we're this close to the One Piece… and then I'll be the King of Ninjas,' Obito thought, his imagination running wild.

Man… if I ever get the chance, I really want to visit the One Piece world too. Maybe snag a Devil Fruit or something…

From above, the light formed a massive hexagonal snowflake pattern.

The white rays connected with the surrounding Rainbow Ice Walls, and suddenly, the towering crystals began to glow brilliantly.

Under the morning sun, the walls refracted a dazzling spectrum of color, washing the frozen landscape in rainbows.

Obito and the others stood in a space of seven-colored light, as if they had stepped into a dream.

"It's… so pretty…"

The three girls Koyuki, Terumi Mei, and even Yugao were mesmerized, their faces soft in the light.

Only Doto Kazahana looked furious, his eyes darting in disbelief.

"Where is it? Where's the treasure?!"

Moments later, white steam erupted from hidden vents, curling into the air like mist.

Warmth spread through the bitter cold. Snow melted at a speed visible to the naked eye.

"What the… it's hot now?!"

Terumi Mei blinked in shock.

"How is this even possible…?"

Obito's single eye curved into a grin as he looked down at the kneeling Doto.

"Oh, Joker… you already know what it is."

He paused for dramatic effect, then raised his hand like a pirate captain.

"The real One Piece… was the friends we made along the way!"

Doto's eyes trembled.

"…Geothermal… generator…?"

"Yup."

Obito's voice was casual, but the mockery was sharp as a knife.

Doto froze for a moment. Then rage exploded out of him like a volcano, spit flying as he screamed:

"IT'S ACTUALLY A GEOTHERMAL GENERATOR?! THE TREASURE OF THE KAZAHANA CLAN IS THIS PIECE OF CRAP?!"

"SŌSETSU KAZAHANA! DAMN YOU!!!"
