Chapter 570: Mitsuha: I Miss You So Much!
"Can I come see you?"
"I also really want to see you."
He also recalled their forgotten promise, made just the day before the comet. The connection was severed, and all information was lost. In despair, his memories gradually blurred until he completely lost them.
With his memory clear, he couldn't help but smile bitterly. "This is quite coincidental."
"Since things have come to this, even if you don't say it, I will bring her back, including Itomori Town," he promised.
The butterfly continued to flap, asking if he needed guidance.
Ren waved his hand. "No need. Mitsuha should have just returned to three years ago. I'll go find her directly."
On the train to Itomori, Mitsuha, with her long hair disheveled, sat dejectedly. She had returned to three years ago from three years later, having come to see him but failed. She still hoped to see him next time.
"Mitsuha, I've come to see you." A familiar voice came from beside her ear—a voice that could only come from the person she had swapped bodies with. She immediately looked up. The moment she did, her movements froze. That familiar figure was right in front of her.
"Ren-kun… I… miss you so much…" Tears involuntarily welled up, and she didn't care as they streamed down her cheeks.
A moment became eternity. Everyone on the train disappeared; only the two of them gazed at each other. He actively reached out, took out a red hair tie, and personally tied her hair.
She felt his warm breath up close. She didn't know why, but facing him now, she felt a sense of being worlds apart. And she couldn't help but blurt out such embarrassing words.
He wasn't strange to it; her state was tangled by time travel. He gently tied her hair, then embraced her and sincerely apologized. "I'm sorry, Mitsuha. I'm late."
"Ren-kun… Can you tell me what happened?" she was not a fool.
He gazed into her eyes. "Mitsuha, you are from three years ago, and I am from three years later."
"Three years…" The simple words made her understand. She reached out and gently stroked his more mature face, a faint smile on her lips. "Indeed, you've become more resolute." Just seeing him, she thought he was doing well. This selfless affection made him feel even more heartache.
"Ren-kun, can you tell me how I died?" she tilted her head.
After a brief silence, he gave a bitter smile. "I really can't hide anything from you. A fragmented comet fell on Itomori Town."
"Comet?" she remembered. "It's today…" Her eyes lowered. So this was the day she parted ways with him. An unwillingness rose in her heart. They had just met after so much effort, only to say goodbye forever.
In pain, she leaned forward. The setting sun shone through the window. The beautiful scene of their kiss was frozen. This kiss was not sweet; her heart remained bitter. He, however, savored the bitter tears that streamed down her cheeks.
After they parted, she forced a smile. "Ren-kun, this is a confession before goodbye. I've always wanted to tell you: I love you, forever."
She had prepared for a farewell, but it did not come. Instead, he pulled her into his embrace. "Goodbye? Are you leaving me?"
"Huh? No! I want to be with you forever! But…" Her gaze dimmed. She knew she would die today.
"Since we're going to be together forever, we must keep our word." He disregarded her emotions and lightly snapped his fingers.
"Snap!" Instantly, the environment shifted. She found herself back in Itomori.
"What… what's going on?"
He chuckled. "Mitsuha, I didn't cross time to say goodbye, but to change the past."
The power of time fluctuated. The scene before her eyes changed rapidly. Dusk turned into a starlit night. And in the sky, a comet with a blue tail streaked across.
"A comet!" her eyes widened. Next, it would split, and one fragment would head towards Itomori. It really happened.
"Let everything change and end here." Ren gently raised his hand. A pitch-black crack in space swallowed the falling fragment.
Following that was the power of time affecting the entire world. With his Supreme Uniqueness, even if he came three years ago, only one of him would exist. On this basis, it was too easy to accomplish the change.
