Every single panel except the [✦Attributes Panel✦] had appeared in front of him. This meant that there had been a change in every one of those panels except the attributes one.
Kagerou spent some minutes staring at the screens, processing the information. The [✦Mission Panel✦] showed that he completed the mission, and that he received the rewards for it.
The corner of his lip twitched as he read the remark about him being too lazy to name his faction. So the system had a personality after all. It had never spoken to him directly, yet this little jab made it clear there was something behind the interface. Watching him, judging him, and apparently not above slipping in a cheeky insult.
Before his thoughts could wander further away, he quickly forced his mind back to the task at hand. The [✦Faction Panel✦] had a new addition in the faction members section. Now Chiyu's name was right beside Kaizan's, signifying that he successfully recruited her. This made him think... what if he tried to recruit someone in the future harbored the intention to betray him? Would the system still add that person to the faction? Or would it pick up on the animosity? Well, either way he'd have to figure it out as he went along.
Moving on, the [✦Host Information Panel✦] had a new addition of its own. It now showed something called system abilities. His only system ability for now was the system scan ability from the mission rewards. The reason that these weren't in the [✦Attributes Panel✦] was probably because the system abilities had nothing to do with this world, or chakra. Instead they were innate to, and originated solely from the system. Kagerou figured this probably meant they were more useful to have then regular jutsu, of course this was just deductions made on his part. He couldn't say for sure whether it was true or not just yet.
And finally, he had also managed to unlock the last panel – the [✦System Shop✦]. And from the looks of it, it was quite a good one. There were many different things being sold for system points, all split into various categories.
The combat techniques section contained all different types of jutsu, from E-rank to S-rank and even beyond. It had everything from elemental ninjutsu, different forms of taijutsu, genjutsu, and even kenjutsu. Kagerou's mouth watered as he looked at some of the more expensive S-rank kenjutsu techniques. Even Hatake Sakumo's White Light Chakra Sabre Kenjutsu was being sold by the system. However, it was classed as low level S-rank as it was considerably cheaper than the other S-rank Kenjutsu in the shop. Of course all of these were so expensive that his meager 50 SPs couldn't even afford him a high level D-rank jutsu. He had to earn more SPs fast.
The next section was called equipment & ninja tools and it was exactly as it sounded. It had everything from the basic shuriken and kunai that he bought from the shop earlier, to explosive tags, sealing scrolls, special kunai like those that would use in the future, and even some legendary ones. Examples included exact copies of the 7 swords of the mist! He could even buy things like Kusanagi swords, the Totsuka blade, Yata Mirror and even the treasured tools of the age of six paths himself. This was amazing! Well, except for the insane prices – Kagerou's eyes briefly lingered on the Sword of Nunoboko. Said to be the most powerful weapon in existence by Uchiha Obito (Juubito). The Sword of Nunoboko was first wielded by Otsutsuki Hagoromo himself, and is formed by combining literal Truth-Seeking Orbs. An absolute monstrosity that Kagerou desperately wanted. Too bad it cost over half a million system points.
Kagerou sighed as he opened the next section. He really wanted that sword, but it was probably best to get an easier sword first, perhaps Tobirama's Raijin no Ken. Also called the Sword of the Thunder God. It was also sold in the system shop for a more reasonable price, if one could even call it that.
The next section of the system shop was the Fuinjutsu section. Kagerou was quite frankly surprised, he had seen many different applications of fuinjutsu in the original Naruto series, however he never quite comprehended the boundless expanse of the art. There were thousands of different fuinjutsu for things as basic as to keep an area clean, all the way to seals that could cause people to be trapped in a perpetual genjutsu – without needing any chakra, as it absorbed natural energy from the environment. Speaking of natural energy, Kagerou hadn't seen any mention of senjutsu by the system just yet. It wasn't in the attributes panel or even the system shop.
In this section, Kagerou also came across things called Juinjutsu. These were a special type of seal that were inscribed onto living beings, to control them. Examples included Orochimaru's cursed seals, the Hyūga branch family's curse mark, the cursed tongue eradication seals used by Danzō on his ANBU Root. Even the demonic statue chains used to control the tailed beasts were included in this as they were an altered version of the Uzumaki clan's chakra chains. Kagerou had access to multiple other Juinjutsu, many which were never mentioned in the series, or probably not even created / lost with the fall of the Uzumaki. Many of these seals could be used to completely wipe out the will of the person they are applied to and turn them into a puppet.
Kagerou moved on after noting down what things he could do with this section. It would be useful to gain the allegiance of the Hyūga branch family by removing their Caged-Bird seal. The same could be applied to members of the ANBU Root who weren't fully brainwashed. In fact he had an interesting idea regarding the Root, but he couldn't be getting distracted right now.
Getting back to focus, he opened the next section, it was quite boring, yet hilarious at the same time. The section was called Random Items and it was quite literally full of every single item there is. Everything from food and drink, to Jiraiya's Icha Icha series.
Kagerou's eye twitched as he saw the cost of the books. 10 system points per book, that was 100,000 Ryo per book! Some people survived for a whole year with that money! No wonder Jiraiya was said to be so rich, the lack of entertainment in this era really led to people blowing money on such things. Kagerou definitely had no intention to buy it of course, for now at least...
The next section was called system abilities, just like the system scan Kagerou had received. Just as he had speculated, system abilities were special because they didn't require any chakra. The abilities themselves were quite versatile. One allowed him to fly, to become invisible and even teleport. Unfortunately he couldn't buy a single one, as all of them were locked. He needed to have a level 3 system at minimum to make purchases on this section of the shop, and even then most of the abilities required a level 5 system or above. Kagerou therefore decided not to waste too much time here and swiftly moved onto the next section of the shop.
It was called the Kekkei Genkai. The name was pretty self-explanatory, but that didn't stop Kagerou's eyes widening into the size of tennis balls when he saw it. It was one thing to expect it, but to actually see that he could purchase the rinnegan was something else entirely. He could also purchase upgrades for his sharingan to 3-tomoe, mangekyou, eternal mangekyou and then rinnegan. The best part was that he could purchase kekkei genkai for others as well, and every different elemental release was there. He could even purchase specific mangekyou abilities like Shisui's kotoamatsukami and Itachi's amaterasu. This was going to improve the strength of his faction by leaps and bounds in the future.
Finally, the system also had a Custom Request Slot where he could request things from the system. Kagerou tested several different things. He could get Mount Myōboku senjutsu for 5 million SPs, and the other two sage regions' senjutsu also cost the same. However he could buy a perfect senjutsu for his physique with 20 million SPs. This is what Senju Hashirama had.
Kagerou also found that he could "buy" the position of Hokage. For 150 million SPs, the system would rewrite history in a way that Kagerou became the fourth Hokage. There were practically no limits to the Custom Request Slot, however the downside was that it was so absurdly expensive that Kagerou would be better off acquiring it independently. Not to mention that he only had 3 slots available, so he decided to save them for emergencies only.
In the end, after looking through the system shop thoroughly, Kagerou realised one important thing. Well, actually it was two important things...
