After Chapter 20 Notice: 7/29/2025

(TLDR at the bottom)

Hey all!

I was going to upload 3 chapters today because I missed one yesterday.

As I said Saturday, I am currently on vacation at a lake with my family.

We rented a boat and a towable sofa raft. The kind you hold onto with a death grip while moving at over 30 mph. Long story short I fell off twice. First time was fine, I got pulled backwards and hit the back of my head. I was fine though. Second time however I and my cousin got flipped and he landed on me while I face planted the water, again at over 30mph.

I was sore all over and fell asleep early, forgetting to upload.

Because I forgot, I wanted to upload 3 chapters. However, I realized that if I did I would leave everyone on a slight cliffhanger.

That seems like a duck move (*quack*), especially since it would have been uploaded correctly otherwise.

So I am instead going to upload 3 chapters tomorrow for reader enjoyment.

Additionally due to the content of the upcoming chapters I will need to upload some Auxiliary Chapters. Make sure to check em out, as they will be important in how the story's power progression... well progresses.

I am open to changes so please give me your feedback!

Also for those who feel the chapters are too short, I am sorry. When I was writing I was told by a friend that there was a character limit for chapters. Additionally I didn't start writing in Inkstone, Webnovel's writing and uploading tool, but instead in Microsoft Word, which was HELL for it's broken grammar checks trying to 'improve' my writing by making it unreadable.

So with that 'hypothetical character limit' that I found isn't as restrictive as I thought, and writing using Word. I arbitrarily decided that a decent chapter size would be 2 pages at font size 14. Which is usually 550-750 words. While a few chapters ended up running beyond that (I think 4 so far, ranging from 800 - 1000), that was mostly due to not wanting an abrupt cut from a train of thought or dialogue.

I now see that those shorter chapters feel like eating watermelon about an hour before dinner. It will stop you from feeling starving, but it will never make you feel full or satisfied. I will try we best to write longer chapters, just keep in mind that I have horrid time management skills. To make sure this fanfic can continue as long as possible - as I don't want another dropped/dead fic involving Undertale on this platform - I need to ensure I don't burnout while writing.

I still have some reserve chapters and and have 4 full pages of drafted outlines and ideas, but I would love some suggestions on story development.

TLDR: To avoid cliffhangers instead of 3 chapters today it's 3 chapters tomorrow. There will be a new Auxiliary Chapter as well with outlines of how Asriel will interact with the Shinobi World. Future chapters (After Ch. 34) will be longer, but expect slight delays as they won't be in reserve anymore. I want your opinions on story progression and character development. This Notice will be moved to Auxiliary by tomorrow to keep the chapter numbers in line.
