Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

"Sorry!"

"I'm so sorry!"

Jihoon yelled as he pushed people out of the way. He ran into the alleyway, only to find it empty.

The omega ran a frustrated hand through his hair as he heaved. "Where are they?" He wondered, sniffing the air as he jerked his head back and forth.

Nothing.

There were no tracks or any smell. The alleyway was a dead end with no adjoining roads, so where had they gone?

"I swear I saw them right here!" Jihoon kicked the wall in frustration, biting back a scream as pain shot up his foot.

He crouched to examine it.

"That must have hurt."

The omega raised his head up, a scoff escaping his lips. "That's for me to decide, Junghoon."

The alpha leaned against the wall, folding his arms across his chest and Jihoon's eyes lingered on the bulging arms and tattoos.

In broad daylight, the omega could clearly see the tattoos were coloured and even more attractive, drawing attention with the impeccable designs.

A cough brought Jihoon out from his thoughts and he blinked, meeting the other's amused gaze.

"Have you had your fill?" Junghoon asked teasingly and heat rushed to the omega's cheeks, eyes darting around.

He cleared his throat in embarrassment before glaring at the alpha. "I'm still your lecturer. I won't tolerate disrespect."

The other grinned, revealing his pearly teeth. "Touché."

"What are you doing here, Sir?" he asked, gesturing at the alleyway. "This is not exactly safe, you know?"

Jihoon scoffed. "I saw someone.." he shrugged, staring at the floor. . "... at least, I thought I did."

He pointed to the other's shoulder. "Has your injury healed?"

Junghoon nodded, flexing his shoulder. "Yeah. I heal quite fast actually."

The omega rolled his eyes at the cocky tone. "Who hurt you?" he asked curiously.

The alpha's gaze hardened. "No one you should worry about, Sir."

Jihoon sighed and started walking out of the alley. "Just keep out of trouble, Junghoon."

The other chuckled, pushing himself off the wall. "Are you worried about me, Sir?"

The omega threw him a look over this shoulder. "It's what a good teacher would do."

Junghoon fell in step with him, shoulders gently brushing as they walked. "Have you read my review, Sir?"

Jihoon's step faltered at the question as his breath hitched.

He did, read the review. It was the first he read actually and was thrown off by how descriptive the alpha's writing was.

He felt his face redden as he recalled Junghoon's depraved words.

The omega cleared his throat, stuffing his clammy hands in his pockets. "I read your review," he admitted softly.

Junghoon smirked, eyes filled with mischief. "What do you think of it?"

Jihoon blinked. "What?"

"What is your personal review on it, Sir?"

The omega looked away, feeling his skin flush at the other's smoldering gaze. He licked his lips. "It was very descriptive and bold.."

The alpha hummed, obviously pleased and Jihoon wanted so badly to smell him but the scent patch on his neck prevented that.

"Did you like it?" Junghoon asked as they reached the busy streets.

"It's.. It's not for me to like," The omega replied quietly, looking away. "It's your way of expressing yourself," he managed.

The alpha chuckled, stepping close to him. "Won't you ask me anything?" he asked, voice dropping to a whisper as he leaned in.

"I know you want to."

The busy streets and its people faded away as the two of them stared into each other's eyes, cooped up in their own world.

"Do... you really see love that way?" Jihoon asked, gaze dropping to Junghoon's lips.

"I do," The other admitted. "I would do anything to keep the person I love, no matter the consequences."

The omega swallowed, sucking his lower lip. "What if the person wants to leave?" he stared into Junghoon's eyes.

"I won't let the person go." The alpha grinned, eyes filled with an emotion Jihoon couldn't describe.

But it was wild.. unrestrained and made his body heat up.

"That's an obsession."

Junghoon chuckled, pulling away and suddenly the omega was more aware of his environment.

He looked around, cheeks reddening in embarrassment.

"We are having a basketball match tomorrow. Come watch me play, Sir."

The omega bit his lip, unsure.

"I'll make it worth your while, Sir." The alpha beseeched, holding his hand.

Jihoon's brain short-circuited at the touch and he nodded dumbly causing the other to chuckle.

"Thank you, Sir."

He nodded, pulling his hand away. "It's alright."

Junghoon dipped his head. "See you tomorrow, Sir."

As Jihoon stood on the busy sidewalk, watching the alpha disappear amidst the moving crowd, he held his tingling hand to his chest, wondering why Junghoon had such and effect on him.

Why did he agree to go to the basketball match!

Monday found Jihoon standing in front of the basketball court, biting his lips.

He played with the hem of his sweater, rethinking his decision to be here in the first place.

"Sir?" A voice called beside him and the omega turned his head, eyes softening in recognition.

"Ah.. Haerin." he cleared his throat. "Is there anything I can do for you?"

The girl beamed at him, twirling a strand of hair around her finger. "I just wanted to greet you, Sir."

Jihoon nodded, "That's kind of you, Haerin." he tapped his temples. "Have you by chance seen Yena?"

Haerin's brows furrowed in deep thought. "Lee Yena?" She asked and the omega nodded.

"I saw her headed upstairs a while ago," She said, shrugging. "She looked like she was in a hurry."

He nodded. "Thank you, Haerin. I—"

The doors of the basketball court opened, startling them both.

"Senior. Hi?"

The other broke into a wide smile. "Jihoon!" he called cheerfully, reaching out to hug him. He pulled away. "What brought you here?"

"I came to watch the match," Jihoon stated and Seojun laughed.

"That's amazing! You're just in time!"

"I'll be leaving, Sir." Haerin said, bowing and the omega nodded.

"Have a good day."

They both watched the girl leave and Seojun turned to Jihoon with a knowing smile.

"You seem to be very popular among the students," he noted, pulling the omega into the basketball court.

"It shows you are blending in well."

"I strive to do my best," Jihoon replied with a faint smile as they sat on the bench his eyes immediately finding Junghoon.

The alpha met his gaze with a knowing smirk before winking at the omega.

"What is he doing?!" Jihoon blushed, biting his lower lip.

"Player fourteen thinks he's so good," Seojun scoffed beside him and the omega frowned.

"Jeon Junghoon?" The omega whispered, watching as the alpha moved around the basketball court, the jersey doing nothing to hide his attractive build.

"Is he... good at playing?" he asked tentatively.

"He...is actually," The other admitted, begrudgingly. "Just a bit cocky."

Jihoon hummed, eyes watching as the alpha dragged a tattooed hand through his raven hair, the curls bouncing around his face.

"Most students are like that," he whispered and Seojun's shook his head.

"There's... something about him I can't seem to put my finger on," he stated. "More... like an enigma."

The crowd cheered loudly as Junghoon scored three points, putting his team in the lead.

"Yes!" Seojun yelled, pumping his fists in excitement. "That's my boys!"

Jihoon checked the timer, gripping the edge of his seat, heart thumping in anticipation.

The omega leapt from his seat, cheering in excitement as Junghoon's teams won, Seojun ran to the players and patted their backs.

Jihoon caught Junghoon's eye and smiled.

"Congratulations," He mouthed at the alpha and the grin he received was worth it.

"That was an interesting game."

Seojun smiled as they made their way out of the school building. "Tell me all about it."

"I'm happy to be going home but I had fun," Jihoon admitted, eyes bright.

Seojun chuckled, pleased with the statement. "That's the spirit! You should come by more often!"

"Let me walk you to your car," He offered and Jihoon nodded, leading the way to the vehicle.

As the duo approached, an unexpected bang echoed as something hit the car roof and the omega shielded his eyes as the car glass shattered, sending shards everywhere.

Screams erupted as students scampered to safety, while Jihoon stood in the middle of the chaos, watching the bloody, mangled body of the person who was on top of his car.

It was Yena.
