Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

"Is she your mate?" Linda asked again when Xavier was quiet for a second longer. She was getting suspicious as to why the Alpha hesitated to respond to her question.

"Who or what she is to me is none of you damn business." Xavier used his Alpha voice. "Now, move the fuck out of my way." He commanded.

Linda did as she was commanded. She knew better that when the Alpha used his authoritative voice, not to disobey. Because not even her can escape his anger when he is disobeyed.

Xavier resumed his fast pace. He cursed as he walked, hoping not to encounter another distraction on the way again.

He finally got to his mother's chamber. He was glad that he wasn't interrupted again. Although, he felt like the people around were the ones that were lucky. Because had it been he was interrupted again, he was going to lose it with whoever it was.

He immediately opened the door to his mother's room.

"What the heck, mom!?" Xavier exclaimed, looking away from the scene before him. As a son, he was sure that no child would want to see his mother In such a compromising position.

"Xavier, son." His mother said in uttermost shock. "You should have let me know that you were coming. Even if it was through a mindlink. And when you get here, you should have knocked." Beatrice added as she shuffled around, trying to get dressed. "You two, out." She commanded the two warriors she was having some fun with.

Xavier could hear footsteps and some more shuffling before he heard the men rushing out of the room.

"The coast is clear. You can open your eyes now." Beatrice said to him.

Xavier opened his eyes. But he did it gradually, not at once. When he saw his mother was dressed, he relaxed his shoulders. "Seriously, mon... Are you not like sixty plus years already? And you are still having sex? Not just that, but a threesome?" He added and smirked.

She snorted. "Leave me be, child. Doesn't matter how old I am. I am still active and sometimes, I need it scratched a little-"

"Ok... Ok... I don't need details." Xavier was quick to cut her off by waving his hands in the air. He went to sit on the bed but paused, recalling what he just witnessed happening on it. He changed direction and stood by the wall.

Seeing his actions, his mother laughed as she sat on the bed. "You look worried, child. What is wrong?" She asked.

Xavier sighed. "There is something bothering me. I met my mate. But.... She is an omega, a silver wolf and also a rogue." He said to her,

"A silver wolf?" She repeated.

"Exactly. A silver wolf." Xavier assured his mother. "Right now, I am confused. I have no idea what to do." He added, rubbing his head.

Beatrice raised a brown at him. "What are you confused about? This is your mate we are talking about, son. You have been waiting for her for how many years? Ten years?" She asked.

"Nine years." Xavier corrected.

"Nine... Ten... Big deal. And now you are saying you don't know what to do?" Beatrice asked.

"Mother, she is a weak Omega. A silver wolf too, which is considered an abomination. She is also a rogue, who can easily betray anyone. Rogues are never to be trusted, you know." Xavier reminded his mother. "There is only one thing I can do to make this right. I am going to reject her." He concluded. Xavier could feel his wolf's uneasiness. He knew he was going to start cursing him.

*Don't even think about it.* Xavier warned.

"Not on my watch, you are not." Beatrice said.

"But-"

"You are not going to do such a thing, Xavier Blackthorn." She caught him off and added in a stern voice. "I am not going to let you do that to a poor girl. I forbid you from rejecting her."

"You cannot tell me what to do, mom. I am the king." Xavier reminded her.

"And I am your mother, you little pup." Beatrice said.

"But mom-" Xavier whined.

"You are not going to reject her. You are going to protect her with everything you have." Beatrice warned. "If she is a rogue, we have no idea what she has been through. She must be in a very bad state and need protection. You must not shun her or reject her. You must protect her at any cause. She is your mate."

"But, mom-"

"No buts." Beatrice interrupted him. "Come on, describe her to me. Tell me what she is like." She requested.

Xavier sighed in defeat. "She.... She is really beautiful. She smelled absolutely lovely. Like Roses and lavender. She has a really cute, perfectly shaped face. And her eyes.... I almost got lost in those blue orbs. She has straight black hair. Although, she looked like she shoulders the burden of the whole world. I wonder what is up with her." He explained to his mother.

Beatrice got up from the bed and walked to him. She put a hand on his shoulder and a smile spread on her face. "She sounds really lovely. Although, she seems to be in a dark place." She pointed out. "Where is she?" She asked.

"Umm... Somewhere." Xavier simply said. He didn't want his mother to find out that he had his mate thrown in the cells.

"Is she here? In the pack?" She asked, getting a little too excited.

"Not in the pack." Xavier lied. She didn't want his mother to find out what he had done. Or insist on seeing her immediately.

"Ok, son. I won't force you into doing what you don't want to do. But I will advise you nonetheless." She caressed on the side of his face "Don't just jump into conclusion. I want you to take your time and think it through. Don't be rash in your decision and later regret it." Beatrice advised.

"Ok, mom. I will do as you say " Xavier acknowledged.

"Good." She said with a smile. "I know you must be tired from your all night patrol. I will prepare you breakfast now. Why don't you go and take a shower before then?" She suggested.

"Ok, mom." He kissed her forehead. "I love you." He left the chamber after that and walked in the direction of his own room. Different thoughts played in his head as he walked.
