Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

The big black wolf was mumbling when his human finally took over, forcefully. The tall, well built man strides into his room and grabs a short and puts it on.

*You have got to be fucking kidding me. You are the biggest idiot I have ever seen. I can't believe you did what you did back there.* Xavier's wolf, Boris said. He had refused to let Xavier take over since they returned to the pack house that morning. Xavier had to force his way back and take control.

'Give it a rest already. You have been whining since last night.' Xavier tried to reason with Boris.

Boris had been mad at Xavier since last night at how he treated their mate. They felt the spark when she rubbed against them. But Xavier managed to take full control then and stopped Boris. It looks like he still hasn't forgiven his human form stopping him from connecting with his mate.

As for Xavier, he had waited for nine years for that day. The day he would finally have another mate. The day has come but she was nothing that he had imagined. She was a rare silver wolf, an omega, which is believed to be an omega and then, she was a rogue too. It was just too much for his head to wrap around it all at a time. She was a combination of everything he didn't want in a mate and he just couldn't possibly accept her.

'You are such a pussy. I really hate you right now.' Boris continued. 'We have been waiting for our mate for years. Now that she had finally come, you treated her like she was nothing. Not just that, you had her taken to the cells. You make me sick right now.' He added in anger.

'Boris, you have to understand that we cannot have an omega as our mate. She is weak. Last night she couldn't even stand up for herself. You need to remember that I am the king. I cannot have a weak omega by my side as my queen.' Xavier tried to reason.

'You sound so annoying right now. What has gotten into you?' Boris asked harshly.

'I I don't know. I just know that she cannot be our mate. A silver wolf is so wired. You cannot deny that. I think the moon goddess is playing some kind of joke with us after nine years of waiting.' Xavier answered.

'You have to think this through . You cannot deny that she is beautiful. I am sure there is more to her than you perceived.' Boris assured.

Xavier was silent for some time, thinking of what Boris just said. He thought Boris was right. The girl was beautiful. For a moment back there, he almost got lost in those blue eyes of hers.

'We cannot have her as our mate, Boris. We have to think of the future of our pack and the wolf world in general. Progress cannot happen with such weakling, abomination by our side. I am going to take all the necessary majors on what to do when you don't want your mate. Enough about that rogue. Now, just let me get some rest.' Xavier added, ending the connection with his wolf. After that, Xavier began to walk in a certain direction in the building. He was in a hurry to get to his mother. He wanted to talk to her about what happened so badly. He was greeted by a lot of people as he was passing by. But he did not have time for all that , as he only gave them a nod while still walking in a hurry.

"Alpha.... Alpha." A voice called out. With annoyance, Xavier turned to see who was calling him. It was one of the warriors he went on patrol with the previous night.

"What do you want?" Xavier asked in irritation. "Make it quick. I don't have all day." He added.

The warrior got closer and bowed a little. "Your highness, it is about the rogue we brought back to the pack last night. What should we do with her and her cub?" He asked while his head was still bowed out of respect for his king.

Xavier was a bit surprised. He had forgotten that the omega had a small child with her. He wondered why she had a child with her.

"Where are they right now?" He asked

"In the cells, your highness. Like every other rogue. Just as you have instructed." The warriors replied.

"Place a bed for them in the cell and some blankets too." Xavier instructed. He might be tough on other rogues but this one had a child with her and even though he can't have her, she was his mate. "And provide them some food." He added.

"Yes, your highness." The warrior bowed even lower. He was about to leave when Xavier stopped him.

"Make sure no one touches her or her child. If any of you does that, or you let anyone lay a hand on any of them, I will have your head and that of anyone involved. Am I clear?" He threatened.

"Yes, your highness." The warrior answered.

Xavier dismissed the warrior and he left to do as he was told. He resumed his steps when he was interrupted once again.

"Ehem!" The voice of the interrupter came.

Xavier knew exactly who it was even before turning his attention to her. It was his Beta. She was the only one that had the audacity to get his attention like that.

"I have things to attend to right now, Linda. What do you want?" Xavier said with a tone of frustration.

"I see you care about the rogue and her child. Is there something special about them that is worth your attention?" Linda asked.

Xavier shook his head. He doesn't have time for her chitchat. So he turned to continue his steps but she blocked his passage.

"What? Why are you trying to avoid the question?" Linda asked. "Is she-" She narrowed her eyes on him. "Is she your mate?"
