LOCATION: HOKAGE OFFICE
TIME: TEAM ASSIGNMENTS DAY, AFTERNOON
The third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi had seen a lot in his life, which is to be expected since he was currently pushing seventy years and was one of the oldest Kage's ever, only second to Onoki
Hiruzen Sarutobi had seen new inventive jutsus, ninja styles never thought possible, wars waged, battles fought.
One could say he had seen it all, except he hadn't. Today's situation proved that to him
Ryota Benimaru, a boy he was certain would be an amazing and splendid ninja in future entered his office
He had greeted him warmly with a smile, like he would any Konoha nin, until he heard the next few words that came out of young Benimaru's mouth
"I'm forming a solo team" he said confidently which made Hiruzen raise his brow slightly
"You don't like your team assignments?" Hiruzen asked "Regardless of how strong you think you are, having backup doesn't hurt does it" he tried to reason with him, specifically putting emphasis on the think
"That's only applicable in a situation where my teammates are even somewhat competent, unfortunately however they're weak" Benimaru said, in a matter of fact tone
"I see your point" The Hokage said, smoking his pipe "humor me for a second will you?" he choked out a laugh "What exactly…. is your view on the weak"
Benimaru took a seat and without a hint of hesitation he spoke
"They're useless, utterly useless. In a battle field anyway"
"Please explain" Hiruzen said
"I have nothing against the weak" Benimaru clarified "If you are weak because you don't wish to be a fighter than that's fine" Benimaru said, smiling but then turned Frowned as his gripped the table harder and harder
"Stop or you're going to break it" Hiruzen tried to stop him but Benimaru ignored him and kept speaking
"But what I hate is when you are weak and make no effort to improve yourself, and still put yourself in the heat of battle with a smile even though you know you're gonna die, people call it courage I call it foolishness" Benimaru looked Hiruzen dead in the eye, the room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop as Benimaru continued
"And that, to me is the greatest sin"
The table finally gives out under the force as Hiruzen sighs and rubs his temples
"You know what? I'll cut you a deal" Hiruzen told him
"What kind of deal?" Benimaru asked skeptically
"If you can deal one hit, and I mean just one hit against a jonin of my choice, then you can form a solo team with that jonin" Hiruzen tried to bargain with him "deal?"
Hiruzen asked
"Deal. But make sure the jonin isn't too weak or I may end up moping the floor with them"
Benimaru said, full of confidence while smiling
"Don't get cocky young Benimaru-kun"
He tried to warn him
"Yeah, yeah sure"
Benimaru waved off his concerns
"So who am I fighting?"
Benimaru asked, his eyes gleaming like predator ready to pounce on prey
"Calm down Benimaru-kun"
Hiruzen said
"I'll have you match and opponent be ready later so come back tomorrow for your match, ok?"
"Sure old man"
Benimaru turned to leave with Urimo-sensei, only to see that he had already left. Without missing a beat, he ran out of the office to start preparing for tomorrow's fight
Once Benimaru had left, Hiruzen's smile faded and he called in one of his anbu
"Hokage sama"
The anbu said
"What do you need?"
"I need you to follow that boy, watch over him but make sure he doesn't notice you"
Hiruzen ordered, his voice steady and dangerously which made a chill go up the anbu's spine
"Yes Hokage-sama"
The anbu said without hesitation, disappearing and leaving to carry out his assigned task
Hiruzen stood up, walked over to his window and took a whiff of his pipe, his eyes closed and his mind wandering
'That boy, his chakra is so dark and ominous. I felt it when he enhanced his grip with Chakra to break the table. But he seems like a good kid so what exactly could be making his chakra so menacing like that'
Hiruzen took another puff of his pipe and tried to relax
'I hope I'm just imagining things, if not, then the ninja world may be taken up by storm very soon'
LOCATION: BENIMARU'S HOME
TIME: SAME DAY, NIGHT TIME
Benimaru was trying to sleep but he couldn't, his cells couldn't shake off the anticipation towards a good fight, the joy that came from winning and the thrill that came from he adrenaline
He hadn't felt this way since he first fought Sasuke, the first time he had been given a challenge in his entire life and it was amazing for him and he cant wait for a repeat
He was rolling in his bed, trying to find anyway to calm himself down but he just couldn't and eventually....he blacked out
But not in the normal way
LOCATION: UNKNOWN
TIME: UNKNOWN
Benimaru appeared in a pure black space, surrounded by darkness as far as the eye could see
"Where…..am...I"
Benimaru muttered to himself in confusion
A figure appeared in front of Benimaru , something or someone made of nothing but pure darkness with a tattoo above its left eyes, a circular pattern with three prongs protruding from its sides
"Now is not the time yet"
The figure said, tapping Benimaru forehead lightly making his disappear from the space
"Brother"
