Chapter 31 - What's up?

Violet whimpered weakly, curling up like a ball in immense agony and fear.

At this moment, she barely knew what to do for herself.

The big sister who once cherished Violet with all her love no longer existed, it turned out that Tenny was nothing but a cruel, heartless monster.

No.

Reality, she had already known about this thing, which meant that she knew the fake emotion hanging on Tenny's face from the beginning.

The surroundings were negative enough for her to realize it. Yet, she didn't know why Tenny hated her, so she simply tried to satisfy her sister as much as possible in a blind way.

When she heard that from Tenny's own mouth, it was literally a large shock.

And every word Tenny had spoken deeply wounded Violet's young heart.

She had already lived in a scared, illusion world where her sister might hate her anytime. She always worried this time would come.

Now, countless negative thoughts swirled in her mind.

"If my death could help relieve the anger partly in her heart, I'm ready for it." That was the only thought she could hold on to at this moment.

Violet barely resisted at all. She simply accepted it as Tenny's underlings reached her.

"Lady Violet… I hope you try to endure a bit. I'll make it quick." A young girl with a cunning face smiled awkwardly while taking Violet's ponytail hair and pulling it up to prepare for her action.

Even though her words and actions were polite and respectful, they still couldn't completely hide her enjoyment and excitement.

"I'll do it quickly~~~"

Immediately, a cold chill ran down Violet's spine as she heard those words. It was clear that underling wouldn't do as she said.

Now, she could only shiver in agony and horror, powerless as she watched the knife approaching her wet eyes.

"I-I'm so scared… Please, someone help me…"

She trembled even more as those thoughts appeared in her head and a wave of disappointment filled her mind.

"A-After all, I'm just a weakling."

The underling's expression twisted in a perverted way as she watched Violet's frightened state.

"Yes! That's it!"

She slowly stabbed toward Violet's right amber eye with calculated movement, reaching the edge of the eye. It was obvious that she intended to torture her in the cruelest way possible.

"Aaaaaaaah!"

"It's a great sound…" Tenny uttered, closing her eyes in enjoyment.

However, her expression twisted in confusion after a few seconds—this painful sound was different.

She widened her eyes, turning to look at her underling, who was now writhing in agony.

At that moment, the underling was clutching her bloody back of hand tightly, screaming in pain.

"A coin?"

Tenny narrowed her eyes, focusing on the underling's back of the hand, where a coin had embedded itself with a sharp edge.

Then, she quickly scanned the entire room with cautious eyes, gripping her whip in preparation for a fight.

Unfortunately, she could barely see anything—she had turned off most of the mana lamps to prevent mana from leaking into the hallway.

Moreover, it was impossible for anyone but her to know about this place.

"Who's there? Show yourself!" she shouted angrily while a layer of ice formed on her whip.

Yet, there was nothing but silence until a loud sound suddenly echoed.

Boom.

Suddenly, countless clouds of smoke spread over the room, blinding everyone.

Of course, that smoke originated from the coin that had just embedded in her underling's hand.

The coin had exploded just a few seconds after it pierced the underlying's flesh. She should have thrown it away when she had the chance, but no matter what she did anything, the smoke from the coin spread rapidly because its range was vast, filling the entire room.

"Tsk!" Tenny cleared her throat uncomfortably. Then, she swung her whip in a circular motion, positioning herself at its center.

Instantly, layers of ice began to form quickly. A frozen wall emerged around her, defending against potential attacks she couldn't perceive.

Obviously, she had only created an ice defense for herself. In general, she was a selfish and ruthless person.

She scanned her surroundings with a focused gaze, releasing powerful ice mana. She was ready to counterattack at any moment, yet as minutes passed, nothing happened.

At that moment, she suddenly realized something. Instantly, she shouted at her underling in an urgent tone.

"Find that bitch!"

Unfortunately, it was too late.

Violet was no longer there.

"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!"

"Everything's going to shit!"

Hector frowned, his face tense as he sprinted down the dark hallway.

Right now, he was carrying a young girl in his arms. He held her tightly, wrapping her in his uniform jacket since most of her clothes had been torn.

Looking at her, he felt a deep pang of heartache. It only worsened when he clearly felt the warm blood seeping through his hands.

He pulled her closer, trying to provide some warmth against her shivering and freezing body.

"Damn it! The healing capsule was resisted by her… She must have used too many already. At this point, only a VIP capsule might work."

"I need assistance… but from who?"

Countless names flashed through his mind, but only a few people that he could actually reach at this hour.

It was 3 a.m., and he was in a place where no one lived.

This castle was far from the main fortress where the instructors and students resided, making it impossible to find anyone nearby.

''Fucking bastards... Attacking a minor is a crime.''

He glanced at Violet's haggard face, and his expression grew increasingly tense.

"I need to treat her right now!"

Violet's breathing was becoming weaker and weaker—she didn't have much time left. Hector could easily tell, after all, he was a doctor. He had to do something.

"Huh? That's it… I guess Bam is still in his equipment room at this hour… He's a crazy scientist."

Finally, Hector felt a glimmer of hope. Without hesitation, he sprinted toward the seventh floor of the castle.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

"Open the door!"

A few seconds later, a voice came from behind the wooden door.

"No one's in the room! Please leave!"

Knock! Knock! Knock!

"It's me… Hector! I need help... Quickly! I will do anything for you!"

"Please!"

Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam!

Hector's knocking turned into pounding as he smashed against the door.

"Too noisy! Get in!"

Suddenly, the wooden door swung open on its own.

The familiar room was lit by mana lamps. Tools, devices, and scattered papers cluttered the space—just as messy as the last time Hector had seen it.

In the middle of the room, a young man was sitting in a chair, completely absorbed in his research.

Slowly, he took off his glasses, revealing his tired, dead-fish eyes, and turned toward Hector.

"What's up?" he asked in his usual monotone voice.
