We've been orbiting Illium for three days now. Liara should be arriving soon, with that girl, Elena—that was the waitress I had a quick conversation with… When I think back to our meeting, I can't help but blame myself for what happened to her.
But even she endured the torture without telling them she had a connection with me. Why? Is she stupid? It would have been better if she'd told them, then they wouldn't have tortured her. I hate the thought of her being tortured just to get to me. Is it really normal for the military, at this time, to torture poor girls?
But whatever the case, I have to take responsibility. After all, if I weren't here, she would have been fine and continued working as a waitress, but she would have been relatively safe, at least until the Reapers arrived.
And besides, I don't know where I am in the story, but at least I don't know how long it will be until Shepard returns to "life." Well, it doesn't matter now, but Elena will be safe aboard the Enterprise. Therefore, she will be part of the Enterprise crew.
I just sighed and closed the browser.
I was a little shocked by how many views the Citadel escape video got. I'd never seen such numbers before, and it felt like the entire Milky Way galaxy witnessed the Council screw up.
I posted this video, calling it "Ride of the Valkyries." Trite? Maybe, but only a few people recognize this music, and not even everyone, since it's over two hundred years old, yet it remains a timeless classic. After Enterprise hacked the Citadel's surveillance system, she immediately processed the video and posted it, creating a channel like a twenty-first-century YouTube channel, only this one spreads across the galaxy.
In fact, the galactic internet is just... perverted...
Well, at least if you search for porn, which is what I did...
I wish I hadn't...
Like Volus fucking Asari, for example, made me want to claw my eyes out. So, I immediately closed those sites and blocked them. I didn't want my psyche to break, if it wasn't already broken.
No, how perverted do you have to be to be drawn into porn, Keepers! They service Citadel Station, and they're used like sex robots...
Even thinking about it makes me shudder.
"Signatures detected!" said Enterprise, distracting me from my revulsion.
"Geth again?" I asked, leaning back in my chair.
I'm getting pretty fed up with these damn robot machines. I destroy them, but they still keep coming. Apparently, the Reapers are panicking and trying to take me out, but they're failing, so they're sending entire vanguards to destroy me.
"No, they have a different signature. It looks more like two B-class cruisers pursuing an A-class fighter," my wife said, to which I frowned.
"Can you verify the signature of the ships they're pursuing?" I asked, watching the three blips on the radar approaching us.
"Just a second... The ship is registered to Liara T. Soni," she said.
"Apparently they don't want to let Liara go. Maybe I should really destroy the Citadel?" I asked, addressing no one in particular.
"If that's your wish, my Captain, I'll gladly fulfill it," said Enterprise.
I shook my head.
"That's just me thinking out loud. There are a lot of innocent civilians on the Citadel, and I'm not a maniac," I replied.
"Anyway, let's help Liara," I said.
After a while, three ships approached us, and I commanded.
"Fire!" - and in response to my words, two projectiles erupted from my ship, quickly closing the distance to their target, reaching them, instantly destroying both ships, and all this took us only a few seconds.
"My Captain, we are receiving an incoming call," said Enterprise.
"Bring it to the screen," I said.
As soon as I said this, Liara appeared on the screen, and I saw a girl hiding behind her.
"Sirin, thank you for saving us, I never thought the Council would go for this!" she said.
I waved my hand and said.
"You don't have to thank me, I opened the airlock, you can dock with my ship," I told her.
She nodded and ended the call.
I walked toward the airlock, and just as I approached, the door opened and Liara appeared, with Elena behind her.
"Hello, Sirin, I..." she shifted awkwardly from foot to foot.
"Don't bother, Liara, I don't blame you!" I replied.
She looked down and said.
"Thank you, I really needed to hear that!" she said, smiling and relaxing.
"It's okay, let's go sit and talk!" I said as I left, and the two girls followed me.
"I just wanted to ask, can you take Elena? She really wants to be on this ship, where she'll be safe," Liara asked.
I looked at Elena and said.
"Is that what you want?" I asked, to which she nodded.
What have they done to her? She used to flirt with me, but now she's really shy! I don't even want to ask her, because it might bring back bad memories...
"Well, welcome to the team, Elena," I said, smiling.
Then I looked at Liara.
"And you?"
I wouldn't mind her joining me, but...
She shook her head.
"I can't... Besides, I'm already part of another ship..." she said, and fell silent.
"And I also need to track someone down," she said.
I nodded, understanding who she was talking about, so I didn't ask.
"Sirin, the Council wants to eliminate you. They're even prepared to send an entire fleet," Liara said.
"What? A fleet? Seriously? When the Reapers are on our doorstep?" I asked, amazed at their stupidity.
She looked surprised.
"You know about the Reapers?" she asked.
"Well, yes, they control the geth, who keep coming to destroy me. I think after the last attack, they're afraid of me, when I destroyed an entire geth fleet. I'm tired of being distracted by the geth every time."
"So you can..." I cut her off.
"Destroy the Reapers? Yeah, easy in solitary confinement! But why would I need that?" I asked.
"I understand..." she said, a little upset. Honestly, I thought she'd throw a tantrum, something like the Reapers were the death of the entire galaxy or something.
"Oh, don't be like that. If a friend asks me, of course I'll help," I said, smiling.
"Friend?" she repeated.
"Yes! Or don't you consider me a friend?" I asked, feigning disappointment.
She shook her head.
"No! You're my friend too!" she replied.
"Well, you see!" I said, smiling.
We talked a little more, and she told me about her conversation with the council, which made me laugh, how she spoke to them with such disgust. Although, not all of them are stupid... Andersen... A man who recently became part of the council, and all thanks to Shepard. I think he's workable, but who knows...
"Okay, I think I'll go. Sirin, take care of Elena!" Liara said, heading toward her ship.
I nodded.
"Of course!" I replied and followed her.
Before entering the airlock, I waved to us and returned to my ship, which undocked from mine.
I turned to Elena.
"So, what do you want to do?" I asked.
Because, unlike other ships, mine didn't need a crew. The Enterprise handled everything itself.
She looked at me and said.
"Teach me how to shoot!" she said, a little enthusiastically.
"Of course I can, but why?" I asked.
"I want to be able to defend myself," she replied firmly.
"I understand, but first, let me introduce you to mine." "My wife," I said, turning my gaze to Enterprise, who was nearby.
After introducing her to my wife, Elena and I went down to the cargo bay where the shooting range was.
"There's a gun over there, choose one you want to learn to shoot," I said.
She walked over and immediately chose a pistol, but it's understandable—it's light and concealable.
"So, you take this position... feet shoulder-width apart, your finger off the trigger only when you're about to shoot. Now aim the front sight at the target... Just like that!" "Great! Now pull the trigger!" and true to my words, she fired.
"Well, you got a 4, not bad. Go ahead and practice some more, and I'll watch," I said.
She shot for another two hours, and you could see how she was improving.
"Okay, you need a break!" I told her.
She nodded, and I added:
"Let's go show you your cabin!"
She shuddered involuntarily.
"What happened?" I asked worriedly.
"I'm scared to sleep alone," she said sadly.
I walked up to her and hugged her.
"Poor thing, I think Enterprise won't mind if you sleep with us," I said.
Afterwards, we went to the bridge, where I saw Enterprise looking a little tense.
"What happened, dear?" I asked.
She looked at me and said,
"Look, see this planet? There's no record of it, no evidence of life there, even though there's oxygen there." "Tom, the thing is, she shouldn't be here, it's as if she appeared out of nowhere!" she said.
I looked at her and felt a connection pulling me, as if going there would give me something.
"Darling, I need to get to this planet!" I said.
"Why what?" Enterprise asked.
"I can't say for sure, I just know what I need," I replied.
She sighed.
"Okay, then I'm beginning my descent. The sensor says there's an atmosphere on the planet. Survivability is 100%," my wife informed me.
I felt Elena tense up.
I turned and told her.
"Don't worry, I feel like it's safe for me; in fact, I'm actually benefiting from it." "Besides, I'm a cat, albeit a slightly different species, and I have nine lives," I said, smiling at Elena, trying to make a little joke.
She smiled too and said, "Okay, but be careful," I nodded and headed for the elevator.
Meanwhile, the Enterprise was already in the planet's atmosphere, and as soon as it dropped low enough, a beautiful surface dotted with tall trees appeared before us.
"I'm picking up a signal, 500 miles away," said the Enterprise.
"Go there," I said.
This feeling won't leave me, as if someone is calling me, to where I belong...
