Chapter 147 - Chapter 147: Acnologia

The name Zeref seemed to carry some kind of magical power. The moment it was spoken, silence fell over everyone present.

All eyes were drawn to the young figure standing atop the black dragon, to the point that the dragon itself was momentarily forgotten.

The young man had short black hair and wore a long black robe with a tall, distinctive collar.

A pendant hung from his chest, glinting faintly under the sunlight.

Over his robe was wrapped a long white cloth, and he wore black boots. Even in such a tense atmosphere, his handsome face remained eerily calm.

"That's Zeref… the progenitor of all Dark Mages."

A rush of information overwhelmed the minds of the Fairy Tail members. Faced with the sudden appearance of this legendary being, none of them knew how to react.

"Precht, is it?"

Zeref's voice was low and magnetic—clearly familiar with Hades's former name.

Hearing that Zeref remembered him, Hades looked abnormally thrilled.

"Lord Zeref, I've come to retrieve you. With your power, we will create—"

"Boring."

Zeref's cold, emotionless voice cut him off.

"You have taken countless lives. Your malice has summoned the Black Dragon, Acnologia. It will destroy this island and bury everyone here."

"L–Lord Zeref…?" Hades stared at him in shock—this was nothing like the outcome he had hoped for.

Zeref cast only a brief glance at Natsu within the crowd—and then vanished without a trace.

"ROOOOAAARR!!!"

The black dragon's roar shook the sea itself.

Animals for hundreds of meters around died instantly from sheer fear.

Acnologia circled the sky once before diving downward, its destructive force enough to pierce the entire island.

Facing such a threat, Fairy Tail's Guild Master Makarov didn't hesitate—he transformed into a giant, spreading his arms wide in front of his children.

"You will NOT harm my kids!!"

Unexpectedly, Wes also stepped into battle.

He had been waiting for this moment for a long time. In his mind:

Let me witness the highest power of this world.

"Defensive Magic: Iron Gate Trio!"

As Wes chanted, three massive metallic gates rose from the ground, each one impossibly sturdy—strong enough, Wes believed, to withstand even missile strikes.

But against the Black Dragon Acnologia, they were as fragile as biscuits. They shattered instantly—but at least relieved a portion of the pressure from Makarov.

"BOOM!!"

A thunderous impact exploded as Makarov's gigantic body collided with the dragon.

Makarov's face flushed red, veins bulging like twisted serpents along his massive arms as he strained to resist Acnologia's power.

The ground beneath him couldn't handle the force—it sank more than ten meters, and the entire island trembled violently.

Wes struck again.

This time, a colossal magic circle appeared on the ground. Countless golden chains surged outward, wrapping tightly around the black dragon, trying to restrain it.

"What are you standing around for? Waiting to die?!"

Wes' roar snapped everyone out of their terror. The others finally reacted and launched attacks toward the dragon.

Only Hades remained lost, hollow-eyed, as if his soul had escaped his body.

"Master, this isn't the time to despair. Survive first—this dragon intends to kill us all."

Wes's words hit Hades like a slap.

Yes… no matter what, survival comes first.

Between dreams and life, it is survival instinct that awakens one's greatest potential. Everything else becomes irrelevant.

"Amaterasu · Hundred Forms!"

Seven layers of purple curse-formations appeared around the black dragon, each glowing with ominous light.

"Clear out!"

Hades warned the Fairy Tail members.

It wasn't kindness—only the simple truth: in this battle of life and death, every fighter was crucial.

Against a monster like Acnologia, he alone couldn't do anything. Only by fighting together could they hope to survive.

Makarov, well aware of the destructive power of "Amaterasu · Hundred Forms," quickly organized Fairy Tail's members to retreat from the battlefield so they wouldn't suffer casualties from the blast.

"BOOOOM!!!"

A massive mushroom cloud rose into the sky, blotting out half of the heavens.

The powerful shockwave lifted waves tens of meters high, whipping up violent winds that swept across the entire battlefield, threatening to swallow everything in their path.

As the smoke slowly dispersed, Makarov—blood at the corner of his mouth—staggered over to Hades.

"Never thought… there would come a day when we fought side by side again."

Hades did not answer him. It was nothing more than a forced alliance; both men still clung to their own beliefs.

When the aftermath of the explosion finally settled, everyone was horrified to find that the Black Dragon remained completely unharmed—its scales pristine and untouched.

It merely lifted its head slightly, and the golden chains binding it snapped like noodles under its overwhelming power.

"ROOOOAR!!"

The black dragon unleashed an earth-shattering roar and leapt into the sky.

When it reached a certain altitude, it abruptly stopped rising and lifted its massive head high.

"That posture—!!"

The three children raised by dragons—Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy—felt a strange wave of nostalgia for a brief moment… followed by overwhelming terror.

"Watch out!!"

Their warning came too late.

Everyone could already feel the terrifying surge of magical power building inside the dragon—a force capable of annihilating everything. Every nerve in their bodies tightened.

Even the well-experienced Wes Elwin couldn't help but exclaim softly:

"So this is what a true monster looks like…"

Faced with this unprecedented threat, not a single person chose to give up.

Among the crowd, Wendy stood with her small frame radiating unwavering determination. She closed her eyes slightly, lifted her hands, and began chanting.

A gentle, warm magic spread from her, drifting like a soft breeze across everyone.

It was Wendy's enchantment magic—granting every ally a protective armor of resilience, greatly boosting both their strength and morale.

Even Wes and Hades were enveloped by this warmth.

Wes tightened his grip on his wand.

He drew in a deep breath and poured every drop of magical power in his body into it like a raging tide.

The wand shone with blinding brilliance, and the air itself seemed to heat up as his magic surged.

Under his control, nine enormous magic circles appeared in the sky, covering the entire island.

The sheer output left Wes pale. Sweat dripped from his forehead, and his body trembled slightly.

But the Philosopher's Stone fragments within his cells activated, soothing his body like a warm spring.

His magic quickly replenished, allowing him to maintain the colossal array.

The others also unleashed their trump cards.

Each and every one of them fought with everything they had—to protect Tenrou Island.

But just as everyone prepared to face the incoming attack, the Black Dragon lowered its massive head.

Its deep, lake-like eyes gazed coldly at the tiny humans below—filled with nothing but disdain.

Then, it opened its massive jaws toward Tenrou Island.

A deafening roar erupted—an explosion of pure destruction unleashed from the dragon's maw.

Compared to this, Natsu's "Fire Dragon's Roar" was nothing more than a tiny spark.

The dragon's attack was like a world-ending tsunami of annihilation, engulfing Tenrou Island in an instant.

The first six layers of Wes's nine magic circles shattered instantly like fragile glass under the overwhelming force.

The remaining three lasted only a single second before being obliterated.

Acnologia's roar unleashed a shockwave that spread from Tenrou Island's center, raising waves hundreds of meters tall.

Those waves surged outward like an enraged giant, as though intent on devouring the world.

When the catastrophic force finally dissipated, the once-lively sea fell into deathly silence.

Tenrou Island—was gone.

Not a single trace remained.

The land that once carried countless memories and hopes had vanished without a shadow.

Only endless seawater rippled quietly, as if whispering about the battle that had just ravaged it.

High above, the Black Dragon shifted its colossal body, flapping its enormous wings and stirring up fierce winds.

The gusts howled, sending ripples racing across the ocean.

Acnologia cast a cold glance at the empty sea below—its eyes utterly indifferent, as though the destruction it caused was nothing more than a trivial affair.

Then, it spread its wings and ascended, slowly flying off into the distance—leaving behind a silent sky and a turbulent sea.
