Chapter 21 - 20. After the Royal Summons

Tension filled the royal conference room. As the discussion centered on the Crystal Core, Dex the Gnome engineer, Zabonik the lab director, Brunok the Dwarf, Eris the Elf Shaman, Princess Ria of Elysium, Marielle the Cleric, and Rian all shared their opinions.

Dex spoke first.

"The Crystal Core is not a simple power source, but an ancient artifact created in the age of the Titans. This core possesses a legendary power that fuses magic and technology, and even its brief activation had a strong effect on surrounding machines and life forms. I believe we must develop a control device to regulate the Crystal Core's energy output. This will allow the golems to absorb only the energy they need, and the rest can be safely dispersed."

Zabonik nodded in agreement with Dex's opinion and continued.

"Dex is right. However, a control device alone may not be enough. The Crystal Core's unstable energy has stimulated dormant life forms in the area and has even caused machines to malfunction. We will need to stabilize the core's energy and install a magical barrier to minimize its effect on the surroundings."

Brunok folded his arms, listened to Zabonik, then shook his head.

"Zabonik, installing a barrier is fine, but if that's all we do, we won't know when the problem might erupt again. We need to handle this the Dwarven way—make it solid. I'm proposing we install an auxiliary device on the golems so they can absorb energy stably. Since this is a mechanical problem, it should be solved mechanically. We should also deploy additional defensive devices to have a way to physically control the machines if necessary."

Eris nodded at Brunok's practical approach but added her own opinion.

"A mechanical approach is important, but the Crystal Core is an artifact that exists beyond the boundaries of nature, magic, and machine. Its instability is breaking the balance of nature, and a purely technical solution is not enough. We need to realign the core's energy to match the rhythm of nature. A process of magical purification and harmonizing the energy is essential. Otherwise, the surrounding chaos will continue."

Brunok looked somewhat displeased at Eris's words.

"The rhythm of nature... those are nice words, but aren't machines pretty far removed from the rhythm of nature? We're discussing how to control golems right now. Can you really create energy that a golem can handle through 'magical purification'?"

Eris smiled in response.

"Brunok, machine and magic are closer than you think. Magical purification can do more than just organize energy. For a machine to operate in harmony, its energy must align with the flow of nature. When technology and magic blend harmoniously, machines will also operate more naturally."

Ria listened to the others' opinions, tapping her fingers lightly as she fell into thought. Then, she spoke.

"Synthesizing the opinions of Dex, Zabonik, Brunok, and Eris, I believe the key will be to control the Crystal Core's energy in stages. Based on Elysium's experience in artifact management, I propose a system that divides the Crystal Core's output into multiple layers and monitors and adjusts the energy at each layer. This way, we can prevent excessive energy discharge and adjust it so the golems can operate stably."

Dex nodded as he listened to Ria.

"An excellent idea, Princess Ria. A multi-layered energy division system would expand the scope of our control. However, to realize this, we will need a system that can detect energy and react instantly. We may be able to use Gnomish technology for that part."

At that moment, Marielle quietly spoke up. Her voice was calm and imbued with a sacred energy.

"Listening to everyone's opinions, it has become clear that this Crystal Core is not a simple artifact but a being with a deeper meaning. I pray that the divine will guides this core's stabilization so that nature, machine, and all living things can once again achieve harmony. The chaos that has befallen life forms and machines due to the core's unstable energy flow may be because we have lost the sacred order."

Marielle clasped her hands and smiled at those around her.

"The teachings of the divine always value harmony and balance. If we re-stabilize this core's energy and restore it to its proper place, the divine will shall be with us. If we gather our strength and stabilize the Crystal Core, we can overcome any difficulty. Solving this problem is a sacred mission for us all."

Rian, after listening to everyone's opinion, stood up and concluded the meeting.

"Hearing everyone's thoughts, I can see that this Crystal Core is not a simple mechanical problem, but a complex entity that requires consideration of the balance of magic and nature as well. We need the technical solutions of Dex and Zabonik, the practical approach of Brunok, the magical harmony of Eris, and the sacred perspective of Marielle. For now, let's make our goal to stabilize the core's energy and minimize its impact on the golems and the surrounding environment."

Rian continued, his voice filled with strong resolve.

"This is a moment that requires all of our wisdom and effort. With the wisdom of the Gnomes, Dwarves, Elves, and Elysium, and with divine grace, let us solve this problem. We will risk everything to overcome this crisis."

Everyone in the conference room nodded in agreement with Rian's conclusion. They resolved to embark on a journey together to solve the Crystal Core's instability, each contributing their own skills and beliefs.

Episode : Journey to the Dwarf Kingdom

Rian's party arrived at a massive train station located in the heart of the Gnome Kingdom. This place had once been a vital transportation hub created through the cooperation of Gnomes and Dwarves, but it had been unused and forgotten for many years. However, the station was still sturdy, and as a symbol of the two races' past collaboration, it once again welcomed their footsteps.

Dex greeted the party at the entrance to the station and explained.

"This station was an important passage in the past where Gnomes and Dwarves exchanged their technology and resources. It is an old relic, but the fact that it can be used again at this very moment is an opportunity for our two races to join hands once more and move toward the future. This train to the Dwarf Kingdom will bring us the parts and tools we need for the mechanical soldiers."

Rian looked around the station, deeply feeling its historical significance. The massive iron gates and the structures of interlocking, complex gears were a testament to the fusion of Gnomish delicacy and Dwarven robustness.

"So this station comes back to life. So that the history our two races shared can unfold before us once again."

A short while later, a giant, steam-powered train entered the station. This train, a combination of precise Gnomish design and sturdy Dwarven metalwork, was powered by a massive steam engine, and a great pulsing sound echoed with the steam it billowed.

Eris's eyes widened in surprise at her first sight of a steam train.

"This is truly amazing! To think this giant machine moves with the power of steam... I can't believe the technology of the Gnomes and Dwarves has advanced this far. As someone who values harmony with nature, I never imagined the power of a machine could be this great."

Marielle also watched the train's steam and movement with admiration.

"It's truly incredible... To move something so massive with the power of steam is another amazing power, different from the creations of the divine. It seems technology and magic have intertwined to a point where they touch upon the divine order. It is truly awe-inspiring to see such a wondrous thing accomplished with the wisdom given by the divine."

Ria spoke as if lost in thought as she boarded the train.

"I feel like this train will be more than a simple means of transport; it will be an important symbol that reaffirms our cooperation. If the Gnomes and Dwarves can work together again, we can overcome the current chaos."

The train headed for the Dwarf Kingdom, passing through a tunnel. On the tunnel walls were carved symbols commemorating the past cooperation of the two races, and magic stones glowed, lighting the way. The light was like a bridge connecting the past and the present, illuminating the party's path.

After a journey of several hours, the train arrived in Bargnor, the main city of the Dwarf Kingdom. Bargnor was a city surrounded by the characteristically strong and sturdy stone walls and magnificent iron gates of the Dwarves, a symbol that showcased their pride and technological prowess. As the train stopped, Rian's party saw that high-ranking officials of the Dwarf Kingdom were prepared to greet them.

A high-ranking Dwarven administrator, Hagraks, welcomed Rian's party with a hearty voice.

"Welcome, Prince Rian, Princess Ria, and all your companions! By the order of the Dwarf King, we have been waiting here to assist you. Here in Bargnor, you will be able to obtain all the tools and parts you need."

Brunok nodded at Hagraks's welcome with a satisfied expression.

"Now this is a Dwarven kingdom! We can get the parts we need quickly here. The gears and components to fix the mechanical soldiers—we can prepare everything we need right here."

Hagraks spoke with confidence.

"We have secured sufficient resources in preparation for a situation like this. Here, we will provide not only the equipment you require, but also stronger and more reliable parts. We will help reinforce the Gnomish mechanical soldiers with Dwarven technology so that they may carry out their original purpose."

Ria expressed her gratitude for Hagraks's hospitality.

"The help of the Dwarf Kingdom will be a great source of strength for us. We believe we can secure all the resources needed to repair the mechanical soldiers and solve the problem of the Crystal Core here. We are deeply grateful for your support."

Rian headed to the Dwarven factories with Hagraks, feeling the powerful support of the Dwarf Kingdom. The hope that they could secure the necessary resources here and repair the mechanical soldiers bound their hearts even more tightly. As the cooperation between the Gnomes and Dwarves began to shine once more, Rian's party resolved to continue their journey to overcome this crisis.

Episode : Internal Conflict

In the darkness of Bargnor, a clandestine meeting was held in a closed factory. Gray smoke brushed against the ceiling, and anxious eyes watched one another. Several figures, including the high-ranking Gnome engineer Predix and the director of the Dwarf research lab, Gramic, had gathered in secret. They all held important positions within their kingdoms, but they harbored a deep dissatisfaction with the current regime.

Predix spoke first. His voice was laced with suppressed ambition.

"When I heard the Crystal Core had been activated, I felt that a true opportunity had come for us. This core is not a simple power source. It is the key to revolutionizing our kingdom's technology. But our current leaders are letting this opportunity slip by. They only want to play it safe."

Gramic narrowed his eyes, looking at Predix. He had not been entirely in favor of this meeting from the start.

"Your words sound nice, Predix, but this is dangerous. The current kings are conservative, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. We need stability in our kingdoms. Reclaiming our past glory is the priority; recklessly charging forward isn't the answer."

Predix smiled and placed his hands on the table.

"Yes, stability is important. But for how long? We can't wait any longer. The technology is ready, and now we must aim higher. If we don't seize this opportunity, we will remain second-rate, third-rate, forever."

The other figures at the meeting quietly nodded. They held similar feelings. Gramic remained silent for a moment before speaking again.

"I've heard that the Noktus could help us. The technical resources they have and the offer they made us are tempting. But can we really trust them? They are the enemies of our kingdoms. Joining hands with them could be an act of betrayal."

Predix spoke with a confident voice.

"We are not traitors, Gramic. We are innovators. The Noktus can provide what we desire. Complete control of the Crystal Core, technological advancement, and positions as new leaders. This is just a simple transaction. An exchange of what we need. If it comes to it, wouldn't it be right to stand on the side that benefits us?"

The other attendees broke their silence and expressed their agreement. They did not want to miss the chance to seize control amidst the kingdoms' chaos. Predix looked at them with eyes full of conviction.

"Now, we can choose. We can either stay safe in the present, or we can take a risk and leap forward for our future. I will choose the latter. Technology and knowledge belong to no one. They belong to those who can use them best."

Gramic hesitated for a moment, but in the end, he nodded. They resolved to cooperate with the Noktus, deciding to strengthen their own positions amidst the turmoil of their kingdoms. The hope that they could use the power of the Crystal Core to leap to a higher station captivated their hearts.

They began to secretly contact the Noktus, exchanging information on the Crystal Core. But there was something they did not know. The power of the Crystal Core was not a simple technological tool, but a great danger that could shake the very foundations of their kingdoms. Their clandestine cooperation was a gamble that could lead their kingdoms to even greater chaos and ruin.

Now, the high-ranking officials of the Gnomes and Dwarves had started down a path from which there was no turning back. Their decision would soon cause a massive ripple throughout their kingdoms, and the price could be greater than they could ever imagine.
