'It says you need to be out of combat to summon your pet for the first time'
'No no, I can read.It's just that I wasn't expecting that.'
'Expect the unexpected.'Az replied without wasting a beat.
As Russel was about to reply sarcastically with something.
'By the way you're in a fight and the opponent has just regained his skill from cooldown'
"What?" was the only thing Russel managed to say before the wolf hit him with his skill.
Again.(A/N: Im disappointed in you Russel.Should've just made Chris the mc instead)

"Sorry but someone was distracting me."Russel said accusingly.
'How could you let yourself be distracted? And blaming it all on poor me? How despicable of you.'
'You know what I'm going to lock in on the fight. Hear ya when it ends.'
'Stat distribution. Distribute 12 to strength, 12 to agility,4 to Constitution, 8 to stamina and 6 to Dexterity.'

With it Russel could see even the micro movements made by the wolf.
This time Russel charged at the wolf and slashed.

He knew that.
But something in him, just refused to give up.
Was it pride? Maybe.
But if it helped him move forward without giving up, who was he to refuse it?

He just went forward and kept on slashing.Again and again.
The wolf tried to strike him again and again.
But Russel was different from before due to unlocking Focus and distributing his stats.
Even if it wasn't much, it was enough for him to dodge the simple attacks of the wolf.
And so the cycle went on, slashing and dodging, for what seemed like forever.
Even Az was bored after the first 30 minutes.
So he retreated to a corner of Russel's mind.A place where only him and Russel was allowed to enter.
And did what any reasonable man would do.
He started watching anime.
Anyway back to Russel.
Russel stared at the wolf before him.
He didn't know how long he was fighting the wolf for.
In truth he had managed to dodge the wolf's basic attacks.But the skill?
He had only dodged a quarter of the times the wolf used the skill.
And that was because of his dash skill.
He also had some healing due to his Auto-battle healing skill.
Lucky for him, the original Russel had originally stocked his inventory with HP and MP potions.
He had somehow finally managed to get the wolf to 200 HP.

The requirement needed for berserk call.
And true to his expectations it activated the skill the movement it had 20% HP remaining.
And out of the forest came three wolves.
All level 10.
They didn't wait.
They came, they charged.
Not one by one like in those Bollywood movies.All together.
Russel used Dash and ran.
Not away from them, but towards them?

Russel charged right at the wolves and drove his sword straight into the eye of the wolf in the centre.
The blade pierced through its eye then its skull and finally its brain.

The other two wolves stopped at the place they were standing shocked.
But Russel didn't he took his sword from the body of the dead wolf and stabbed it into the head of its companion on his left the same way.

Though this time the wolf on his right had finally gotten out of his stupor at the death of his second companion.
He wanted revenge on the human who had killed two of his companions and injured another.
Because to the wolf, they weren't just companions.
They were a family.
And it wanted to bite off the head of the being who had killed his family.
So, in his pursuit for revenge it charged straight to Russel to bite his head off.
It opened its mouth, ready to bite Russel's neck.Ready to exact its revenge.
But Russel in one fluid motion, without even turning to face it, clamped its mouth shut with one hand.He kicked the body of the wolf he had just killed to free his sword and stabbed it into the head of the third wolf.

It was over, just like that.
Three wolves, each killed with only one stab.

Russel turned to look at the wolf.It was just standing there but Russel could see the fury and hate in its eyes.
After all he had just killed its family.
But Russel didn't care, not even a single little part of him gave a shit.
Russel charged at the wolf, expecting an easy fight, well not exactly easy but just a repeat of what he had done until now.
But he forgot about something.The 10% stat buff.
You might be thinking it's just a 10% buff.But in a fight even the smallest differences between power can cause huge differences.
Russel understood this, just a bit too late.

He should have been able to block these attacks, but he had fighting for god knows how long.
And while the original Russel had stocked HP and MP potions none of them restored stamina.
Meanwhile, it was if the wolf had completely regenerated all his stamina after using Berserk call.
It was only a matter of time before Russel lost.
Until he remembered his class skill Recruit.
He had killed those three wolves before and their dead bodies were just lying right there.
"RECRUIT" Russel screamed.

Right then and there a huge amount of energy started coming out of the bodies of the wolves.
Death energy.
Both Russel and the Wolf were shocked at what was happening before them.
Three dead bodies were standing up.
Though Russel was shocked at how cool it was, the Wolf was shocked for a different reason.
It's family that was supposed to be dead was standing before it.
It felt unfiltered joy, happiness and relief.
But that happiness was short lived as the three wolves charged at him with the intent to kill.
They started to claw, scratch, bite, anything that dealt damage to the white wolf they once considered like a big brother.
And the wolf, he didn't even do anything.Because as much as he wanted to survive, he didn't want to hurt his family.
And besides to join his family again he would pay any price, even if the price was death.
"Stop"A voice resounded from behind them.
It was Russel.
He had understood what was happening.
And he just couldn't let this continue.
After the wolf died, it would become part of his legion.Soulless and completely obeying.
Would it -no he, due to the scene Russel had just witnessed it would be rude to call him 'it' like some mindless animal- ever feel emotions again?
No, he couldn't let that happen.
So he told them to stop.
He approached his former enemy, who was in a pitiful state, and hugged him.
The wolf was taken aback.
Why was this human hugging him?
The same one he had been trying to kill was now hugging him.
Why?
"Listen, I know I have no qualifications to ask this but can I be your family?" Russel asked.
"It's understandable if you refuse, but can you atleast think about it a little before answering?"
"Nod your head if you agree, scratch the ground with your claw if you refuse"
The wolf wanted to refuse, but something deep inside told him to accept.
The wolf was a creature of instinct, it trusted its own instinct before his brain.
And that had saved him many times too.
So, he agreed to the human's offer.
Slowly, but surely he nodded his head.

A/N: OMG, finally I did a chapter with more than 1000 words.I'm so happyyyy!
In order to share my happiness I'll tell you all some fun facts.
Fun Fact:My book's original protagonist was Christian. But somehow some random dude transmigrated into my book from the future after I finished my first novel.Don't know how that happened but he was an interesting guy so I made him protagonist.
Fun Fact 2: The wolf was supposed to be killed by Russel or atleast that was my expectation but Russel being the total anomaly he is changed the wolf into his friend/companion/family.
