Harem/Characters (Minor Spoilers)

This auxiliary chapter will list out the harem as well as other important/supporting characters. Naturally it'll be updated as the story progresses and other characters are introduced or I just solidified something in my drafts. I'll post an AN in new chapters whenever I make an update to this one for those interested in keeping an eye on it.

I love the comments from you all but fair warning, whenever I update this chapter there's a good chance any comments connected to specific paragraphs may disappear. Just letting you all know so if your comment disappears I didn't delete it or anything. I leave images for all characters in the general comments of this chapter for those interested.

(The Protagonist)

Onyx:

Existence was comprised of countless worlds, many similarities shared between them but each bearing their own peculiarities. Few would ever learn of experience that fact, confined to live within the bounds of the world they were born into.

He was one of the few beings capable of traversing the entirety of existence.

Tens of thousands? Hundreds of thousands? He'd long since lost count of how many different lives he's led but he did know one thing for sure. No matter how many he lived, exploring new worlds was always worth it.

And he intended on enjoying his time doing just that in the latest world a strange power drew him into.

(Guaranteed to be in the harem)

Marika:

Goddess. Queen. The Eternal. Marika is known by many names across the Lands Between and for good reason. Aside from very specific beings, all beyond the comprehension of ordinary mortals, she is the premier power of the current age, able to carry out feats others couldn't even hope to make an attempt at. If she weren't sealed away anyways.

Merciless. Kind. Wise. Passionate. There are many conflicting accounts on the nature of the living goddess but there exists one objective truth. No ordinary person could've ascended to divinity and established such an expansive society beneath their rule.

(A/N: Fair warning to those who saw the description of this story, she won't be present for what I consider the prologue which by my guess should be around 20 to 30 chapters. After that she'll be a constant. I don't want to water her down and she was a bit too oppressive personality wise during my drafts in versions with her immediately present, so I found it better to delay her appearance and give Onyx time to see the world.)

Melina:

A wandering spirit who has borne witness to the stagnant age heralded by The Shattering. With mysterious origins obscure to even herself, she has a single goal: to bring an end to the current age of suffering by aiding one with the potential to overcome the hardships required to become Elden Lord.

Despite many years spent observing all those who walked the Lands Between and clung to life, she is completely inexperienced when it comes to social interactions, unable to grasp her own emotions at times.

Ranni:

Lunar Princess. Empyrean. Demigod. Though she may not be a child born directly from Marika, like her stepmother there are many titles attached to her name. Destiny brought to halt, like her brethren she is forced to bid her time in an age of stagnation, unable to bring about the change she whole heartedly believed the Lands Between was in need of until a new variable entered the picture.

Traitor. Conniving. Selfless. Stalwart. In another parallel to her step-mother a unified accounting on her nature is nonexistent though those who are in the know agree on one thing. One should tread lightly when dealing with the youngest of the Carian Royal Family.

Lansseax:

As one of the few ancient dragons around, Lansseax is a rarity. As one of the few who still honors the friendship formed between the now twisted Godwyn and her kin, Fortissax, she might just be the only one remaining of her kind.

An ancient dragon who considers herself friend to the Golden Order even as it crumbles apart.

On her own she guards the Altus Plateau around the capital, judging the worth of those who cross it in search of the Elden Ring.

Selfish, greedy, fickle, weak.

Bit by bit, as the unworthy trickled across her path, the steadfast faith she clung to began to diminish. Were there none that could claim the title Elden Lord? Not with potential comparable to that of Vyke's who'd lost himself to a power sought out in desperation?

As her doubt began to solidify a new power ripples across The Lands Between, drawing her from the Altus Plateau.

A power entirely unlike that of any she knew.

(Highly likely to be in harem)

Malenia:

One of a pair of demigod twins born afflicted with curses. Despite her life being plagued by the Scarlet Rot and its varying effects, sight, limbs, and so much more stolen from her, she showed a talent that could only be hampered, not taken away. Known as one of the fiercest fighters among those of divine blood she's earned herself countless titles.

Chief among them being, The Blade of Miquella.

There was nothing she wouldn't do for her twin brother.

Nothing.

Irina:

A young woman that, while not quite a noble, has enjoyed a more comfortable life than most in these uncertain times due to her father's current allegiance to what remains of the Golden Order. Her weakened eyesight, something that's left her almost completely blind from birth, had led to a rather sheltered upbringing that may also be the reason for her at times naïve kindness to those she finds herself to be in the company of.

That life is uprooted entirely when a vicious battle forces her away from her home and out into the wilds.

Sellen:

A former prodigy of Raya Lucaria. Accused of experiments and research that brought about both death and a fate some would say was far worse, Sellen lost her position at the academy, labeled the Graven Witch and exiled.

Worse, she became the target of witch hunters.

Imprisoned, Sellen suffered pain and isolation that would've long since left others insane. A shell of their former selves.

The fate that awaited her if nothing changed.

So, when a peculiar man steps into her little hideaway, curious about sorcery and open minded about where that information came from, it was only natural that she took him on as her student. Not just to stave off her impending doom but for the slim chance that he could be the key to freeing her.

Roderika:

Roderika was not a true tarnished.

She did not hail from the Lands Between, rather, she was the distant descendant of one who did, and neither was she beckoned to the ancestral land by Grace. She and those charged with following her, arrived in the Lands Between for a singular reason.

She had been exiled.

Despite being banished from her home and sent to a stagnant land where danger lurked behind every corner, Roderika maintained a kindness that few in her position would. One that the Lands Between would see snuffed out through suffering and loss.

Rya:

The Volcano Manor. The home of the Recusants: tarnished warriors who answer only to the lady of the Manor and spend their time hunting their fellow tarnished in a show of opposition to the Golden Order.

Rya was their scout.

One would think that being a recruiter for a group dedicated to such a bloody and merciless unfair called for an equally heartless disposition.

Rya was anything but.

Soft spoken and optimistic, she tended to see the best in those around her. A rare trait in The Lands Between. And one that results in something dear being stolen from her.

But it also leads to her requesting aid from a man unlike any tarnished she'd ever met. One that stirs something within her.

Nepheli:

Nepheli Loux: a warrior and one of the few tarnished that can trace a clear lineage back to those who served under and were banished alongside the former Elden Lord Godfrey from the Lands Between. She generally keeps to herself, dedicated to carrying out the will of her foster father.

Though she has adopted more formal mannerisms to better fall in line with what's expected of her, Nepheli is a descendant of the Loux at heart, strength honored above all else. Be they an enemy or ally, she respects those who can hold their own in battle, the act of one person fighting another a natural part of the world rather than something to inspire malice.

Her latest task brings her to Limgrave, both to retrieve the shard of the Elden Ring held by the demigod Godrick, and investigate an abnormality in the area.

(Might be in the harem)

Rennala:

Queen of the Full moon. The head of the Carian Royal family. The most power sorceress to ever walk the halls of Raya Lucaria.

Broken.

Lock up within the deepest parts of the academy and looked down upon the very same practitioners of glintstone sorcery who once strived to match her skills, Rennala is a far cry from the woman she once was. Few who came upon her would liken her to someone capable of leading two wars against the once prosperous and ever expanding Golden Order.

That was how things worked. Those who could not stand against the cruelty of the world as well as the merciless hearts of those who resided within it would be changed by it. Morphed into something they weren't or reduced to shadows of their former selves.

Stricken by both grief and hopelessness then left in isolation throughout most of The Shattering, Rennala is one such person, a ruthless deception and subsequent abandonment leaving her on a slow spiral into insanity.

Leda:

The Needle Knight. Follower of Miquella. Paranoid.

Leda typically cared little for titles but took great honor in any that acknowledged her loyalty to Miquella, the only one capable of bringing true change to the Lands Between. She had watched the degradation of the Golden Order long enough to realize that a new one needed to take its place. One shaped in Miquella's loving image.

She would stop at nothing to ensure Miquella's will be done.

Nothing.

(Other Characters)

Torrent:

A spectral steed that accompanies Melina, enabling her to travel the land as she is. To treat him as nothing more than an animal would be a mistake, his intelligence and attitude betraying the true intellect beneath his horned exterior.

Especially his attitude.

He might not be the in the harem but he's the best boy for real real. Big ups to our boy who has spent countless hours hurdling us across The Lands Between.

Fia:

The Deathbed Companion. Among the Tarnished drawn to The Lands Between, Fia herself is an irregularity, few of her strengths marking her as one capable of being the one who would claim the Elden Ring.

And yet, here she was, drawn by Grace like all the others.

Unlike those others, she makes use of the opportunity, setting out to accomplish something that would change the land in its entirety for those condemned by the Golden Order rather than following its demands of the tarnished.

Boc:

A demihuman who is on the smaller side of his kind. Weak of body, once his mother passed, those that should've been his family kicked him aside, casting him out.

On his own he would've died. He was sure of it.

But he finds himself indebted to Onyx, a man who offers him aid rather than the aggression Boc had been told to expect from humans.

And he intended on dedicating his life to repaying that debt with what meager skills he could offer.
