Shadow reflects as he falls into deep thoughts.
"Next ability"
Shadow looks at his hand and it increases in size.
"The energy consumed depends on the use, does this apply to all other abilities?"
Shadow's hand returns to normal as he tries to think of another ability that could possibly disapprove of his theory.
Suddenly, an idea pops into his head and his eyes suddenly turn cold and distant.
Then his eyes turn fierce and sharp.
He used "duel personality"
"The energy consumption is the same... Is it because they have the same effect of changing the mindset?"
I ask myself as I return to normal.
"Wait , I just realized. The first and second time using size manipulation didn't consume energy"
I suddenly realize.
"System, care to explain?"
[That's because the system gives the host the first time for free use]

Shadow is speechless at his lazy system.

Shadow puts his hand to his chin and ponders.

I say with a huge grin.

In the same old forest with dark red Clouds hovering over it, a scene was playing out.
A red furred wolf with fire under his feet was chasing a student in the dragon academy's uniform--or armor.
The students was panting as he ran and just before the wolf could land a hit...

A silent wind passed by.
The student keeps running afraid of turning back even though he doesn't hear the sound of the wolf's footsteps from before.
After some more minutes he finally stops and looks around.
"W... Where did that fire wolf go?"
He asks with bewilderment.
He couldn't have just given up on easy prey right?

Scenes played out like this with different species getting caught.
Or more accurately three different species.
"Done~"
A soft sigh was heard.
Shadow was standing under the Vail of trees with seven different bodies laying in front of him.
A red wolf.
A purple bird.
A humanoid rocky figure.
The reason Shadow didn't get one out of every species
Of the seven was because the races he could have are limited and also, not everyone is useful for him.
You may ask, doesn't he just get the race after the killing? Why bother getting the corpse?
Well for instance, they can be sold for a good price.
And shadow is poor right now.
And second, he wants to try something.
The first system was completed after comprehending a part of space rules giving him insight.
So he might as well try to understand how to extract thier races himself.
So he suppressed the system from getting the races before he does some experiments.
Shadow crouches down and start trying different things.
"Race extraction!"
"Fire wolf extraction!"
"Extraction? Extraction! No? Ok... "
After some tries he gives up.
"Let me analyze the system's way"
He puts his hand on his chin and falls into deep thoughts.
The system gets the race after a kill is made so it has a relation to this.
But what is it?
Maybe it's the soul leaving the body? No, That doesn't make sense. The body has the race, but the soul does not. It just has the image of the body, not the actual race.
So what is it?
Shadow grunts in frustration.
Suddenly a realization hits him.
"Blood... You can't kill without it spilling over you"
I look at the corpses and with a swift move penetrate the fire wolf's body with my hand.
I close my eyes and start to focus.

I think as I try to recall the feeling.
Energy consumption, I need to consume energy.
I let my energy flow through the monster's body, Especially it's blood.
A thickness in my blood, like adding something.
I start to feel some connection with the blood of the fire wolf.

I feel myself bordering on discovering something when suddenly...
[WARNING! WARNING! HOST'S CULTIVATION IS TOO WEAK TO WITHSTAND THE COMPREHENSION AND THE EXTRACTION!]
The warning rings out a couple time as I pull out my hand.
"... This is disappointing... But I guess I wasn't realistic, after all, how could I finish two systems in such a short time?"
I stand and shake my head.
"Race system, activate"
The same old red system appears.
[Successful extraction, hell hound race]
[Successful extraction, lighting Phoenix race]
[Successful extraction, rock giant race]
Three consecutive notifications appear in my line of sight.
"Hmm"
'If I recall correctly, the first was called fire wolf, the second was called lightning bird, and the last was called the stone golem. Did the system upgrade their races? Or did it extract the original true bloodline from them?'
My eyes light up with anticipation from the last possibility.
Those three races are considered the top of their elements, at least in their respective race like the hounds for example.
If the system could do the same and still upgrade them more, wouldn't I be the beast god in the future?
And like a little boy who found a new toy, I shove the corpses into my storage place and run back to the cave again.
