Chapter 20 - chapter 20 executioner (1)

Everywhere in the kingdom, things were a mess. People ran into the streets, shouting, confused, and anxious. Some looked relieved, hoping the chaos might bring change. Others looked pale, clutching their families, too scared to move. In every corner—small shops, alleys, city squares—the same question passed from one person to the next: "What's going on?" "Is it safe?" "Will there be fighting?"

Guards moved quickly from post to post. Neighbors whispered and watched, waiting for someone to explain. The sound of doors slamming and footsteps echoed. Horses reared, dogs barked at the rising noise, and merchants left their stalls—no one wanted to be caught in the wrong place.

Above everything, in the sky, something approached—fast, getting larger every second. People looked up, some shading their eyes, some afraid to watch. A strange heaviness made them freeze in place, goosebumps running up their arms.

Scene shift—to Lex and the group

Rayn suddenly stopped and stared at the roof overhead. "Something is coming."

Lon and Zen also looked up, catching the same feeling.

Zen said, "I'll look from outside." He teleported away with barely a sound.

Luo, confused, asked, "What's coming?"

Lex echoed, just as lost, "Yeah, I don't know. Tell me."

Zen appeared outside, feeling the wind rush past. He looked up—something was moving fast, and it wasn't waiting around. He watched, eyes narrowed, and in the next instant, teleported back inside.

Rayn looked at Zen. "What was it?"

Zen gave a crooked smirk. "The end of Arayon."

Rayn didn't reply, staring at him, the room tense.

Scene shift—to Arion

Arion moved through the tunnel, helping his family to leave—women and kids first, leading the way. He kept glancing upward, feeling nervous. "Something is coming," he said, not taking his hand off his weapon.

Scene shift—to King Arayon

Arayon stayed in the same place, unmoving, eyes thin and fixed on what was coming. his expression was hard. A big flying creature was on its way, but that wasn't what caught everyone's attention. It was the people riding on its back.

One of them spoke who was on the creature

"Executioners are here."
