Bam!
Breck felt a soft and fair palm hit him on his right cheek. He opened his eyes and jumped up from the floor, only to see Shizuku standing where he had lain a second ago.
Breck groaned in pain as a soft and red print was left on his cheek. He raised a questioning eyebrow at Shizuku, questioning why he was woken with the slap of god.
"You need to train your senses if you want to stay alive for a long time in Meteor City," Shizuku said as she noticed his look. Breck felt like that was an excuse, but he shrugged.
'I will pay you back with a spank in the future,' Breck thought with an evil smirk on his face. Shizuku suddenly shivered, but she ignored it as it was not cold.
"You remember what I said last night? We have somewhere to be. Come with me," Shizuku said before walking to the exit of her home. Breck followed Shizuku out of the house, and the two walked.
Outside the small village where Shizuku lived. Breck and Shizuku arrived in front of a small cottage that looked like it was put together by children playing in a mudhouse.
Breck looked around with interest, trying to find anything remotely interesting. To his disappointment, the only thing he saw was trash, trash and more trash.
Shizuku walked towards the cottage, and Breck followed after her. Breck suddenly looked at the cottage with interest as he felt a shiver on his skin, similar to Shizuku.
It felt as if he made a slight misstep or moved away from Shizuku. Breck felt that his head would roll off his shoulders like an ice cube. Smooth and wet.
Shizuku raised her hand and knocked on the door, barely hanging on the hinges. She knocked three times, and the door opened, revealing a woman with pink hair tied into a ponytail.
The girl looked past Shizuku at Breck, her eyes poking into him like nails and pencils. Breck smiles as he looks at Machi and waves at her, causing her to raise an eyebrow.
"Shizuku. Who is this?" Machi asked Shizuku in confusion. Shizuku is not the type to walk with someone. Especially if someone is weak like this guy. Machi judged by sensing his aura.
"This is my disciple. I will train him for a month, and if he does not control his nen, I will kill him," Shizuku said with a neutral face. Her blunt words would scare anyone.
"Geee, Shizuku. I thought we came closer after yesterday," Breck said while holding his palm over his chest with a hurt expression, trying to see Shizuku's reaction.
Breck peeked and then sighed as Shizuku watched him with curiosity. Looks like she didn't catch feelings for him after a single day of living together.
"This is Machi. We are here to sell her some organs I found yesterday. You were going to be my finest catch," Shizuku explained as she turned around to enter the cottage.
Machi watched this with raised eyebrows. Shizuku seemed to talk to him more than she usually does with people. Though it's not her business, she shrugged before letting the two inside.
The three entered the cottage, and Breck looked around with interest. The inside smelled of blood, a bed in the middle with surgical utensils beside it on a tray.
Breck suddenly felt a similar warmth on Machi and Shizuku as Blinky was summoned. Shizuku pointed her mouth at the bed, and a body was spat out by Blinky.
The body fell on he bed, and Machi moved to it. A few minutes later, after checking the body, Machi took a knife and slid it down the chest and stomach.
Opening the inside contents, it revealed a fine pair of lungs and a black liver. It looked like stone and was probably stone from all the drinking of alcohol.
Silver strings suddenly manifested and precisely cut through the organs, harvesting them. To Breck, it was like watching invisible tentacles work.
This continued for two hours. Just watching as Machi dissected bodies one by one, harvesting tens of organs, sealing them inside a bag and placing them on ice.
By now, the smell inside the cottage was so bad that even Breck could not help but start to feel like he would throw up. The bodies were thrown in a pile by Machi, letting them sit there.
"That was the last one," Shizuku said without a care or seemingly affected by the smell of the bodies. Her Blinky was fading as she looked at Machi. Taking the gloves off, Machi nodded.
She moved to the back of the octtage and came back out with an envelope full of cash. The envelope held a massive amount of Jenny banknotes.
"Here is the payment. Good work today. The organs I harvested were almost twice the average," Machi praised Shizuku, and Breck's lips twitched.
He was about to throw up.
Though he didn't know that the phantom troupe actually harvested organs of dead bodies and then sold them. But he guesses they do need the money.
They can't just go and try to steal something rare every year. If they did that, even Meteor City would not be able to protect them from the various countries.
So they need another way to gain money that they can use. Breck thinks organ harvesting is a quick and profitable way, especially in Meteor City.
"Thank you, Machi. How are the others doing?" Shizuku asked as she placed the envelope of money under her shirt and between her bosom. Breck raised an eyebrow at that.
Breck couldn't help but notice how close Shizuku and Machi are. It seems that Shizuku had known the Phantom Troupe even before the York New auction happened.
"They are doing well. You could visit us at least once a month, you know?" Machi said with a smile. Her eyes concentrated on Breck. Her senses have been screaming at her for the past hours.
She felt that this man was not simple, and Machi had always trusted her senses. Though she wouldn't go and ask him to join the Phantom Troupe.
"Well, I don't have time. Stealing, fighting, and killing take up all my day," Shizuku replied while turning to walk out. Machi and Shizuku waved goodbye, and Breck followed Shizuku out.
Once they were out of the cottage, the two continued walking, and Breck took a large breath of fresh air. But it was better than smelling the dead bodies.
Looks like he needs to train seriously.
