Chapter 165 - Confession After Long Denial(part164)

(Silence hangs over the place following Misaki's words. Honoka's tears streamed silently, while Yoshika remained holding Ahmed's hand, observing her parents with eyes filled with fear and hope at the same time.)

Honoka's mother takes a deep breath and tries to hide her trembling lips, but she fails. She lowers her head, then says in a faint voice, barely audible:

Honoka's Mother (in Japanese): "...Enough."

Everyone turns to look at her. She slowly raises her head, her eyes brimming with tears. She looks first at Honoka, then at Yoshika, before bringing her gaze back down to the ground.

Honoka's Mother: "No... I cannot continue denying it."

The father's face changes immediately. He looks at her in shock, then says quickly:

Honoka's Father: "What are you saying?!"

But she shakes her head sorrowfully.

Honoka's Mother: "I am exhausted..."

She pauses for a moment to catch her breath.

Honoka's Mother: "Every day I saw my face in the mirror... and wondered how I could have let my two daughters leave like that."

Honoka gasps, her eyes widening. As for Yoshika, she stares at her mother, unable to believe what she is hearing.

The principal takes a step forward, but remains silent, giving her the chance to speak. The mother wipes her tears with a trembling hand, then looks directly at the two girls.

Honoka's Mother: "Honoka... Yoshika..."

Her voice trembles as she utters the two names.

Honoka's Mother: "...You are my daughters."

Honoka freezes in her place. Yoshika's eyes widen, while her tears stream down silently.

As for Ahmed and Misaki, they exchange a calm look, realizing that the truth has finally begun to come to light.

However, the father remained standing in his place, his face stern, as if a fierce struggle was raging inside him between confessing and continuing to deny.

His wife turned to him and said in a voice blending plea with sadness:

Honoka's Mother: "Lies have no meaning anymore... It's over."

A heavy silence fell once again. And all eyes turned toward the father... waiting for his word.
