In a dark room, illuminated by the moonlight, Fredrick sat on a wooden chair.

Chloe was sitting in front of him with a dark look on her face while giving every item William asked for from a first aid box-Fredrick bought it.

"Ouch."

William patched up the last visible wound on Fredrick's face and stood up.

"You should take some rest, General. Those wounds need time to heal."

He then glanced at Chloe for a moment before taking the med kid into his hands and hiding it away. Then he suppressed an incoming yawn before tuning toward Fredrick.

"I will leave for now and clean these bloody clothes."

After receiving Fredrick's Nod, he saluted, went outside and lightly closed the door behind him.

***

Once again, a silence descended upon the dimly lit room as neither he nor Chloe dared to talk or look at each other. The silence was awkward, empty and full of questions.

The revelation and the proof of the system's existence had left Chloe totally speechless.

The silence continued ruling the room for a couple more minutes until Fredrick raised his head and looked at his teacher. Her round face is so perfect that it can't even be painted by the hands of Picasso.

The milky, white radiance of the full moon landed on her smooth, patchless face and reflected, causing the room to turn a little brighter.

Through that light, he stared at Chloe, who was still hanging her head low.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before coughing.

"...Umm, Miss Chloe?"

She raised her like she had woken up from a terrible nightmare and stared into his eyes with confusion.

"Huh?"

Fredrick examined her boundless eyes, supple lips and raven hair for a moment before asking with a worried look.

"Is everything okay, Miss Chloe?"

She continued staring into his eyes, ignoring his words. Never even once did her eyes leave him.

This went on for a couple of minutes without anyone moving. Then Chloe cast her gaze away and got up from her chair. Then she dawdled toward the window containing a midnight beauty of the far-away city.

Since the electricity was still available, the city was full of lights. There were towering skyscrapers, lush parks, small houses and travelling undead hordes. Even though Danger travelled through the streets, the city looked too beautiful in the midnight darkness.

She enjoyed the beauty of it for a moment before saying.

"No...nothing is okay, Fredrick."

She closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

"You didn't have to kill Chris...You could have locked him like the others."

Fredric threw a hateful gaze at her and spoke with a voice brimming with anger.

"He tried to kill me. I had to do what needed to be done."

She turned around and stared into his eyes. The midnight breeze passed around her, causing her hair to flutter in the wind.

"We both know that isn't true...You ordered your man to kill him because you hated him."

Fredrick got up from his seat in a whirlwind of action, and the force of it threw the chair away. He stomped toward Chloe while talking, his voice demanding and threatening.

"So, What?"

Chloe turned silent for a moment, but continued staring into his eyes. Then she said without any fear of his aggressiveness.

"What he did is wrong, I know. He tried to kill you, but...He is still a child."

Fredrick's eyes twitched in anger. His blood veins were on the verge of popping from the pressure they were subjected to.

"I don't give a fu#k whether or not he is a child. He tried to kill me, and I merely returned the favour."

He then looked down as if in guilt. "Too bad, I didn't get to kill him by myself...I would have enjoyed it."

He turned thoughtful and shrugged.

"Even though he is a child...I am a child too. He doesn't have any right to beat me up or try to kill me."

She continued staring into his angry eyes for a moment. She also had seen the way how Chris had treated Fredrick, and she also took a lot of actions to prevent him from bullying Fredrick, but none of that worked. So, in a way, she understood how Fredrick must have felt, but murder isn't the answer, especially when it comes to children.

"Even though that is true,...You don't have the right to judge what is right or wrong and act upon that judgment."

Fredrick's mouth curled upward for a moment before forming into a smirk. His posture started to emanate a confident, cocky aura.

"Guess what, I can. Not only that, I can do whatever the fu#k I want."

Chloe's eyes widened in surprise. She looked at him, frozen like a statue.

Fredrick lingered for a moment and pointed toward the ground.

"In here, I have all the cards. I have the men, I have the guns, I have the system."

"Nobody, NOBODY can go against me. If they do, I will kill them."

Chloe continued maintaining eye contact for an agonizingly long minute. All forms of thoughts were swirling around her head as she thought about the words Fredrick had just uttered. After a full minute, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

"So...what will you do with that kind of power? Will you use it for good or will you use it for evil?"

Fredrick turned thoughtful for a moment before looking at the dead city far away. A smile curled up on his face as he said.

"I will use it for my benefit, and as long as others obey me, they will live safely...under my rules."

Cloe also looked at the far-away city filled with undead for a moment before saying.

"If that is what your goals are...I am okay with it."

She then looked toward him and said while leaning on the wall of the window.

"I will be your voice and also the guardian of my students. Like you wanted, I will make sure nobody asks you questions or goes against you when you display these...inhuman feats. I will do anything you want as long as you can keep my students safe...also yourself."

Chloe was resourceful and talented. If he can create an illusion among the students that her words carry weight in his ears, then she can act as a leader among them and control them at his bidding.

This was the idea on his mind when he told her to handle the students when he was returning to the classroom, wounded.

A smirk appeared on Fredrick's face as he listened to Chloe, but when he saw the face of his teacher, the smirk turned into a pleasant one.

"Good, that means we have an understanding."

Then Fredrick stretched his hands toward Chloe and asked while glancing deep into her eyes.

"Deal?"

She shook his hand and said while returning his stare.

"Deal."

***

"What do you want to talk about, sir?"

William asked of Fredric, who was leaning on the window wall while smoking a cigarette and enjoying the view of the far-away city.

Fredrick stared at skyscrapers full of lights for a moment before saying.

"William, I want you to teach me how to use a gun."
