At long last, they reached Flaeron Mountain.
At its heart lay a massive crater, filled with molten lava and radiating heat over 1000 degrees Celsius. The children stared in confusion, unable to imagine how training could possibly take place in such a dangerous environment. Their eyes turned to their teacher, filled with silent questions.
In response to their puzzled expressions, the teacher simply said:
"Try to keep your spells active for as long as possible."
The trial began.
Mia, Hex, and Yuen's spells fizzled out after only a few seconds. But Isac, Selion, and Gohean managed to maintain control of their magic for much longer. Without offering any explanation, the teacher turned and walked away, leaving the students even more confused.
Unsure of what to do, the children talked amongst themselves and reached a decision:
They would spend the rest of their training honing their mana, and on the final day, they would fight each other to test their strength.
Time passed like flowing water...
And finally, the final day arrived.
Everyone was ready.
A lottery prepared by the teacher would decide who would face whom. The matchups were drawn:
Yuen vs. Hex
Mia vs. Isac
Selion vs. Gohean
