Chapter 30 - Episode 30The Devil's Crossroads

Chronos Imperium: Season 3, Episode 30

The Devil's Crossroads

FADE IN:

INT. THE WARDENS' MONASTERY, "THE STILLNESS" - DAY

The monastery is in a state of quiet civil war. LYRA and her loyalists stand on one side. KAELEN's team, protected by the radical Warden CASSIAN, stands on the other.

LYRA

> You have brought conflict to the one place in all of existence that was free of it. You will not leave.

CASSIAN

> We will. The Chronovore grows stronger every day. Your inaction is a death sentence.

The conflict is a standoff. Lyra can't risk a full-blown fight that could destabilize the dimension, and Cassian knows he is outnumbered.

Kaelen realizes they need a new objective. They can't fight their way out. They need to find the location of the final gateway to Kian's prison.

The "heist" of this episode is a race for information.

* Kaelen's Team & Cassian try to access the monastery's central library, the "Nexus Core," which contains the coordinates of the prison.

* Lyra's Wardens try to seal the Core, using their reality-bending powers to change the monastery's architecture, creating shifting mazes and impossible geometry to block them.

INT. MALAKOR'S HIDDEN BASE - DAY

A crucial cross-cut shows MALAKOR's progress. He has been tracking the strange energy signatures coming from the Himalayas. Using a tortured INEZ REYES, he finally isolates the temporal frequency of the Stillness.

MALAKOR

> There you are. A reality hidden in the folds of our own. The perfect place to hide a weapon... or a god.

He now has a target. He mobilizes his forces for an all-out assault.

INT. THE NEXUS CORE - DAY

Kaelen's team, guided by Cassian, navigates the shifting labyrinth of the monastery. They finally breach the Nexus Core, a vast, silent chamber where a single, glowing star-map of reality hangs in the air.

As Kaelen reaches for the console to download the location of the prison, Lyra appears before them.

LYRA

> I will not let you unleash this apocalypse.

But before she can act, the entire dimension shudders violently. Alarms, silent for millennia, begin to blare.

On the star-map, a bloody, red icon appears, forcing its way into their reality. It's Malakor's forces, using a brute-force temporal drill to tear a hole into the Stillness from the outside.

At the same time, another icon appears—a swirling vortex of black static. THE ECHO MAN, drawn by the immense concentration of temporal energy, has found them as well.

The episode ends with a massive, three-way standoff. Lyra and her Wardens must now defend their home from two invading forces. Kaelen's team is caught in the middle. Kaelen looks at the console. She has the location of Kian's prison. But to get to it, she will have to navigate a warzone where gods and monsters are tearing down the walls of reality.

FADE TO BLACK.
