Sea God Island

A small courtyard nestled halfway up the mountainside.

Na'er had prepared a lavish lunch, and the three of them sat together, waiting for Tang Wulin.

Gu Yue smirked mischievously at Bai Xu and asked, "What if he refuses?"

Bai Xu took a sip of tea and replied, "He definitely won't agree."

"Then what do we do?"

"Look at Na'er," Bai Xu said. "I've already told you—this is your own life, so you must make your own decisions. Some things, no matter how close the relationship, require independent judgment."

Na'er nodded with a smile. "Don't worry, I'm firm in my resolve. In this life... we will move toward a different future."

Tang Wulin had boarded a Tang Sect ship back to the Douluo Continent. Upon disembarking, he immediately called Na'er via soul communication. After exchanging greetings, he learned that Na'er already had someone she loved.

The name "Bai Xu" resurfaced in his mind. Especially upon hearing that both Gu Yue and Na'er had feelings for Bai Xu, he froze in shock. Then, he rushed frantically toward Shrek Academy.

Why?

Why Bai Xu?

Did he... have any flaws?

He was aloof—but aside from that... nothing else came to mind.

Fighting him was likely hopeless, too. While Tang Wulin had been buried for three years, Bai Xu had spent those same three years cultivating. His strength must have reached new heights. If Tang Wulin couldn't defeat him before, there was no chance now.

Yet, he simply couldn't accept Na'er liking Bai Xu.

It was a kind of possessiveness.

Moreover, he still had questions for Gu Yue. From the Dragon Tomb, he had learned that the origin of his Golden Dragon King bloodline was half of the Dragon God's power. But the other half... that deep, instinctual calling—he had only ever felt it from Gu Yue.

Now an adult, Tang Wulin carefully reflected on the past. When he first met Gu Yue at Eastsea Academy, her attitude toward him had been unusual, marked by an intense possessiveness. Yet, for some reason, after the semester break, everything had changed.

And during that very semester, they had encountered Bai Xu.

It seemed Bai Xu was the root of the current situation.

It was time for him and Bai Xu to have a proper talk.

Whoosh!

A fierce gust of wind blew open the courtyard gate on Sea God Island. Standing there was Tang Wulin.

'Did you sense it? Has the Life Ancient Tree awakened?' Bai Xu silently asked.

'No, my lord. You're being overly cautious. With me here, neither the Life Ancient Tree nor the Plane's Will can detect you,' the Plane's Spirit responded.

"Brother!" Na'er smiled calmly, as if she had long anticipated his return.

Bai Xu turned his head, locking eyes with Tang Wulin. The air between them instantly grew tense.

"Sit down, brother."

"Na'er, was what you said in the call true? Do you really... like Bai Xu? And with Gu Yue, too?" Tang Wulin averted his gaze and took a seat beside Na'er. Gu Yue sipped her tea quietly, thoroughly enjoying the spectacle.

Na'er explained, "Yes, brother. This isn't a decision made on impulse—it's a careful choice regarding my future partner. Brother, I know you're reluctant, but we're siblings. Sooner or later, we'll each build our own families. This day was bound to come."

"But not this early, Na'er. You're not even eighteen yet."

"Brother, under Federation law, sixteen is already adulthood."

Tang Wulin fell silent. He hadn't expected Na'er to be so resolute—she hadn't even let Bai Xu speak.

Na'er continued, "Besides, brother, your own romantic prospects are quite impressive. From what I've heard, Wu Sisuo from the inner court likes you. Even the princess of the Star Luo Empire came to Shrek Academy for you, planning to participate in this Sea God's Fate matchmaking event. They certainly didn't wait until they were eighteen to develop feelings for you."

Tang Wulin clenched his fists, his eyes widening with the indignation of seeing his precious sister taken away. Yet, he didn't know how to dissuade her anymore. He glared at Bai Xu, flames practically shooting from his eyes.

Bai Xu: "..."

"Aren't you going to say anything?" Tang Wulin demanded.

"All I can say is that I understand how you feel right now. Likewise, my feelings for Na'er are genuine. Since your parents aren't here, the Atlas Douluo and Holy Spirit Douluo have given their approval on their behalf. If you still have any concerns, voice them. We'll address them one by one."

Tang Wulin frowned. What else was there to object to?

Bai Xu's strength?

Or his status?

Strength determined status—in the end, the Douluo Continent was a world where power reigned supreme.

Tang Wulin declared, "Since Na'er is sincere, we'll settle this with a duel. If you win, you may take Na'er with you. If you lose, you'll keep training until you can defeat me."

"Agreed."

"Then let's eat!" Na'er said cheerfully.

The four of them began their meal. Tang Wulin devoured the food ravenously, as if trying to empty the table single-handedly, leaving the other three staring in astonishment.

"By the way, Gu Yue, there's something I want to ask you," Tang Wulin suddenly said.

"What is it?"

"Over the past three years, I've been in a miniature world. There, I learned some secrets about my bloodline. I inherited the Golden Dragon King's bloodline—half of the Dragon God's power, granting me immense physical strength. But I've always sensed a familiar aura from you. Do you possess the other half—the Silver Dragon bloodline?"

"I do, but only a trace. Why do you ask?" Gu Yue replied, puzzled.

Tang Wulin was taken aback. Indeed, what did it matter if Gu Yue had the Silver Dragon bloodline? She was no longer the person before him.

"Nothing. Just curiosity."

An awkward silence followed until the meal ended. Once Tang Wulin left, Na'er finally exhaled in relief. "Thank goodness you two didn't come to blows."

"Of course not. I'm not some villain."

"Speaking of your duel with brother..." Na'er began.

"Don't worry. He'll definitely be able to take you away from your brother. Over these past few years, his progress has been astronomical. Even when we fused, we couldn't defeat him," Gu Yue sighed, as if regretful.

What intrigued her most about Bai Xu wasn't his detached demeanor—his lofty, all-controlling attitude even annoyed her at times. What she truly wanted to see was a flicker of panic in his heart, the moment when the unforeseen Silver Dragon pinned him down, rendering him helpless, forcing that unshakable composure to crumble for her sake.

The next moment, Gu Yue pulled Na'er aside and whispered something to her.

Na'er then shot Bai Xu a disdainful look. "You really are a scoundrel. To think you'd even consider a threesome... When Gu Yuena eventually awakens, she definitely won't let you off easy."

Bai Xu: "..."

He truly hadn't expected this.

Night had fully fallen, which meant the Sea God's Fate matchmaking event was about to begin.

In the distance, a brightly lit pleasure boat slowly approached across the Sea God Lake. At the sight of it, the outer court disciples uniformly bowed in respect.

Those aboard the boat were none other than the most esteemed figures of Shrek Academy—the elders of the Sea God Pavilion, the true rulers of Shrek City, revered even by the Federation.

Several heavyweight figures had appeared. Meanwhile, Bai Xu and the other two sat quietly by the deserted shores of Sea God Island, observing everything unfold.
