Two years of precipitation and cultivation had propelled Bai Xu's combat prowess to new heights.
First and foremost was the refinement of the Five Elements Flags. He had finally achieved a preliminary completion of these artifacts, no longer relying on the disposable substitutes of the past. The power of the Heaven and Earth Five Directions Five Elements Grand Formation had multiplied alongside his deepening comprehension of the five elements.
The bronze cauldron had also taken form, radiating the brilliance of the five elements. With both the artifacts and the formations now in place, the only remaining task was to delve deeper into the associated Five Elements divine abilities.
In terms of the Meridian Opening Realm, he had completed the three Yin meridians of the hand—Taiyin, Jueyin, and Shaoyin—and had reached the first stage of the three Yang meridians of the hand: Yangming, Shaoyang, and Taiyang.
The minor stages within the Meridian Opening Realm offered limited enhancements to the physical body, merely increasing strength slightly. However, once all the meridians were fully unblocked, and the essence of the five elements circulated throughout his body, forging the Five Elements Body, it would mark the nirvana-like rebirth of his mortal form.
Yet, as his understanding of the world deepened, Bai Xu also realized that the five elements alone could not fully encompass all things. Some existences transcended the five elements, requiring the principles of Yin and Yang to explain.
However, Yin and Yang were realms beyond Bai Xu's current reach. Only after achieving the Five Elements Body and attaining perfection in his divine body would he advance toward the Yin-Yang Body.
Over these two years, Bai Xu's cultivation had also reached level 63. The improvement in his soul power level was a byproduct of his cultivation of the five elements, as he hadn't focused specifically on soul power. He consumed rare treasures delivered by soul beasts and purchased others at auctions. Once his internal organs were perfected, he could instantly refine immortal herbs—so much so that he could practically treat them as regular meals.
Worth mentioning was Bai Xu's sixth soul skill: Time.
This was a remnant authority of the World Spirit, possessing almost no combat capability. In the original work, Tang Wulin, upon reaching a certain level of spiritual power, could even comprehend Time Reversal to evade enemy attacks.
Once Bai Xu attained seven rings and unlocked his Spirit Soul True Body, the World Spirit could briefly manifest independently in the world. At that point, it would be able to intervene in worldly affairs, laying the groundwork for future plans.

Gu Yue pushed open the door and saw Bai Xu, who seemed to exist beyond the mundane world. Unconsciously, two years had passed. With her breakthrough in the research of ten-thousand-year soul spirits and the display of her unparalleled talent and strength—coupled with her status as the direct disciple of the Heavenly Phoenix Douluo—she had gradually entered the spotlight of the higher echelons.
This timeline was several years ahead of the original story.
In contrast, Bai Xu had grown increasingly low-key, to the point of near invisibility within the Spirit Pagoda. Unless someone deliberately paid attention, no one would remember Bai Xu, the inconspicuous figure.
At most, he appeared in gossip about Gu Yue, the Spirit Master, as her "lover."
As she entered, Gu Yue was momentarily stunned. In Bai Xu's slowly opening eyes, it was as if the evolution of all things unfolded—from birth to decay. His gaze seemed to contain an entire world, growing ever more detached, devoid of any human emotion.
For an instant, Gu Yue felt as though Bai Xu regarded her as a small, struggling life, striving to take root and survive on the land of Douluo Continent. Yet, no matter how tenacious, it was ultimately impossible to gaze directly upon the vastness of the cosmos.
The five colors swirling in his pupils faded, and his black eyes returned. Only then did Bai Xu's face regain some expression. He asked, "Finished?"
Gu Yue snapped out of her daze and replied, "Yes, the meeting just ended. On the way back, Na'er called me on the soul communicator."
"What did she say?"
Gu Yue approached and said, "The Shrek Inner Court's Sea God Fate Festival is about to begin. She wants us to go."
"Participate in the Sea God Fate Festival? We're not Shrek Inner Court disciples—we can't join," Bai Xu said, puzzled.
"No, we'd be spectators, in the audience seats... Tang Wulin is also about to return. He won't let you take Na'er away so easily. This trip is also to give her brother an explanation."
Bai Xu spoke confidently: "Then let's go. At most, Tang Wulin will challenge me. I'll accept."

Spirit Pagoda Headquarters, Top Floor.
Office of Pagoda Master Qiangu Dongfeng.
He held Gu Yue's profile in his hands, reviewing the sudden emergence of this genius within the Spirit Pagoda. Even researchers who had studied artificial ten-thousand-year soul spirits for years praised Gu Yue's achievements, claiming that Spirit Master Gu Yue would undoubtedly advance the technology of artificial ten-thousand-year soul spirits. This was truly excellent news.
"Yaozhu's disciple? Her judgment is as sharp as ever," Qiangu Dongfeng affirmed. The next moment, however, he nearly laughed. The profile's evaluation of Gu Yue was overwhelmingly positive—except for one flaw.
'Secretary to Spirit Master Gu Yue'
This freeloading pretty boy seemed to have won Gu Yue's favor. He usually did nothing but wait quietly in his room. Rumor had it that someone once witnessed the two embracing in the office, even hearing some unspeakable sounds.
Seeing this, Qiangu Dongfeng was speechless.
But it wasn't a big deal. The secretary seemed aware of his precarious position and kept a low profile within the Spirit Pagoda. If Gu Yue was willing, the Spirit Pagoda could certainly afford to support one idle person.
Overall, the Spirit Pagoda was stable and thriving, with everything proceeding smoothly!
His grandson, Qiangu Zhangting, was also on the verge of breaking through to Title Douluo—a cascade of good news.
During his leisure, he sat on a nearby sofa, gazing out the window at the vast sea of clouds obscuring all structures. Yet, the direction he looked toward was unmistakably Shrek Academy.
Beep! Beep!
His soul communicator suddenly rang. Qiangu Dongfeng set down the documents and answered the call, only to hear a mocking voice say, "Pagoda Master Qiangu, long time no see?"
"Ghost Emperor, how are things progressing?" Qiangu Dongfeng's eyes turned cold. If not for certain tasks that would dirty his hands—tasks he had to rely on the Holy Spirit Cult to accomplish—he wouldn't have spared these people a single glance.
"The soul-guided shells have been secured. Three 12th-grade God-Slaying Soul-Guided Shells—our cult has obtained two. After some preparatory work, the plan will commence. Heh, we'll need Pagoda Master Qiangu to pave the way for us in Shrek City, ensuring the shells enter safely."
"The rest has already been arranged. I only want confirmation that after this, Douluo Continent will no longer have Shrek Academy or the Tang Sect!"
"Of course, Pagoda Master Qiangu need not worry. Our Holy Cult also desires their eradication. This battle is to sever the legacies of both factions!"
Click.
The call ended. Qiangu Dongfeng smirked. "Hah, fight! Kill! The more deaths, the better! With Shrek and the Tang Sect annihilated, and your Holy Spirit Cult—after hiding for millennia—exhausting its reserves, you'll undoubtedly be crippled. After this... only my Spirit Pagoda will stand supreme! Eternal and unshakable!
The name 'Shrek Academy' has stood for twenty thousand years on Douluo Continent. It's time for a change."

Shrek Academy Main Gate.
Nearly two and a half years later, Bai Xu and Gu Yue had returned.
Both had changed significantly. Bai Xu seemed to walk with an aura of spring, the grass at his feet bowing in reverence. His spirit was clear, his mind tranquil—transcending the mundane.
Gu Yue's figure had matured, and walking beside Bai Xu, she had absorbed some of his essence, her faint smile captivating.
At the gate, a silver-haired figure waited. Na'er's figure was voluptuous, her long silver hair cascading over her shoulders—Bai Xu had once mentioned preferring long hair.
Seeing the two approach, she stepped forward, and the trio walked toward the Inner Court together, chatting and laughing without reservation.
However, midway, Na'er's soul communicator rang. A voice filled with pleasant surprise came through:
"Na'er?"
