Di Tian had yet to recover from his shock. Deep down, he felt utterly unworthy of the Dragon God's throne and had willingly submitted to the Silver Dragon King, all in the hope of witnessing the Dragon God's return one day.
The Dragon God was far too important—to the Dragon Clan, to the divine beasts, to the soul beasts as a whole.
He could truly be called the Ancestor of All Beasts. Yet, he had perished in that great war.
Now, hearing his master speak so casually, it was as though the Dragon God no longer mattered—as if it were merely a title, something that could be discarded or given away at will.
In a daze, Di Tian seemed to return to that ancient battlefield—the fall of the Dragon God, the annihilation of the Dragon Kings, and the remaining dragons, driven to madness, waging war against the human deities.
Hatred once again flooded his heart. The Dragon God had been perfection incarnate in the eyes of the dragons, flawless in every way. In that war, they had fought like frenzied fanatics, launching assaults against the other deities led by the God of Slaughter.
Yet, the truth of that war remained little known.
The Dragon God had long been exhausted—his wife dead, his son having sacrificed his bloodline, and himself driven to madness, nearly destroying the Divine Dragon Realm with his own hands.
Had it not been for his lingering attachment to his son and the Divine Star, he would have followed his wife into the cycle of reincarnation long ago.
To be reborn and seek her again!
But now, the mistake had been made, irreversible. Without offering any explanation to the Dragon Clan, he had absorbed their resentment into himself, allowing the God of Slaughter to cleave him in two.
His benevolent will became the Silver Dragon, the hope of the Dragon Clan's revival.
His vengeful will became the Golden Dragon, eternally imprisoned within the Divine Realm.

Bai Xu gazed at Gu Yue and Na'er, both fast asleep. He stood by the window, staring at the bright moon outside, as he often did for reasons unknown.
Though his expression seemed relaxed, his mind was racing: "This still doesn't add up. That ancient tome was passed down to me, which means I should still be on Earth, not transported to this world. The Spirit of the Plane mentioned someone behind me—not the ancient tome, not the predecessors, but someone else entirely. Will I meet them… in the future?"
With that, he turned his gaze to Gu Yue. Both of them were acutely aware of the responsibilities they bore. Perhaps Gu Yue was already thinking of ways to defeat him—even if it meant mutual destruction. But that would only be possible if the gap in their strength wasn't too vast.
As the Silver Dragon King, the pinnacle of power in her mind was the Dragon God, the Supreme Divine King. In the future, she would be the closest to the Dragon God's level, and with the Dragon God's Core amplifying her strength, she would stand at the absolute peak unless the Dragon God himself were to return.
She was confident she could fight Bai Xu!
By then, with ninety percent of the continent's soul masters and soul beasts under the Dragon God Core's control, led by Gu Yuena, they might just stand a chance against Bai Xu's unknown power.
Gu Yue had even prepared a contingency—if Bai Xu ever used the Dragon God Core, she could seize control of him through divine will. But truthfully, after witnessing Bai Xu's spiritual power, she held little hope for this backup plan.
——————
Half a year later, Bai Xu had reached rank 50.
The list of students selected for the exchange program to Star Luo Continent was soon finalized. In addition to the main group, Bai Xu was included—but Na'er was not.
This outcome was expected. Na'er had not distinguished herself in the outer court, appearing as though her talent had truly faded, leaving only her striking beauty behind.
Na'er felt a pang of disappointment, curling up on the bed with her legs tucked close. This feeling was unbearable—unable to keep up with her brother's progress, she now felt like she was holding him back.
Gu Yue sat beside her and said, "Have you bid farewell to Tang Wulin? Fuse with me temporarily. I think you should visit the Dragon Valley. We must witness it together…"
Then, she turned to Bai Xu. "You know the story of the Dragon God?"
Bai Xu smirked with a hint of mischief. "Of course, I know it by heart. But the truth might differ from what you imagine. If, by the end, you two are no longer lost, I wonder—what kind of Gu Yuena will emerge?"
"It was that great war that caused the Dragon Clan's downfall. Are you suggesting there's more to it?" Gu Yue frowned.
"Oh? So your inherited memories lack the crucial details. Heh, no matter. The truth will reveal itself in time. But you do know the Dragon God suffered from a split personality, right?"
Gu Yue's brows knitted. "What split personality? It was because the Dragon God wielded opposing forces, requiring different aspects of himself to manifest at different times."
"So… a split personality," Bai Xu muttered under his breath.
"You—"
"Tell me, do you truly wish to become such a deity? Two conflicting selves in one body, an unsteady heart, prone to losing control." Bai Xu sighed, glancing at Gu Yue and Na'er. "This 'divided half' of the Dragon God seems to run in the family. Aren't you two split into Gu Yue and Na'er as well?"
Both girls glared at him and spoke in unison: "We are now perfectly fused—we are Gu Yuena!"
A radiant white light shimmered, and the peerless beauty reappeared.
"Bai Xu, is provoking me really wise? If you fail to defeat me in the future, you'll be crushed without mercy," Gu Yuena said, locking eyes with him.
Bai Xu's smile deepened as his fifth soul ring activated. The Spirit of the Plane manifested, wisps of primordial energy swirling in his eyes as he studied Gu Yuena with intrigue. "The future is uncertain. But right now, I can see your karma, Gu Yuena."
Gu Yuena stiffened, staring at the Spirit of the Plane. His fifth soul ring had undoubtedly granted Bai Xu unfathomable abilities—could he truly perceive causality?
In Bai Xu's vision, his own karma was sparse—only a faint thread connecting him to the Spirit of the Plane and a crimson thread binding him to Gu Yuena.
Except… the thread on Gu Yuena's end was far darker and thicker than his own.
——————
The sky was a flawless blue, the sunlight almost scorching in its brilliance. Yet such weather never failed to lift one's spirits.
As Bai Xu and Gu Yue approached, the group's expressions turned peculiar.
Gu Yue seemed different—more beautiful than ever, enough to leave even Tang Wulin momentarily stunned. Yet he couldn't shake the feeling that he'd glimpsed Na'er in her silhouette.
"Let's move out."
The delegation from Shrek Academy consisted of eleven members:
- Leader: Silver Moon Douluo Cai Yue'er
- Instructor: Wu Zhangkong
- Students: Bai Xu, Gu Yue, Tang Wulin, Yuanen Yehui, Le Zhengyu, Xie Xie, Xu Xiaoyan, Xu Lizhi, Ye Xinglan
All nine work-study students were present.
At the farewell feast, Tang Wulin devoured food like a starved beast; Xie Xie chatted idly with Yuanen by his side; Gu Yue quietly placed a few dishes in Bai Xu's bowl, and he returned the gesture in kind.
For now, everyone ate heartily, setting aside their worries.
The delegation from Star Luo Continent to Douluo Continent numbered over a thousand—elites from all walks of life. Douluo's return delegation was equally sizable, packing the grand hall of the Sky Sea Hotel to capacity despite its spaciousness.
The Shrek group waited quietly in a corner. A Federation liaison had already paid respects to Elder Cai.
"Star Luo Continent, huh? Hm?" Just as Bai Xu mused aloud, an imperceptible shift in destiny echoed from his fourth soul ring.
The Spirit of the Plane's voice resonated in his mind: "Master, your fate is guiding you to Star Luo…"
"What is it?"
"I do not know… but it seems linked to a minor world…"
