"Sovereign, integrating into human society has gone smoothly. Those spirit masters are completely unable to see through our disguises. Once we obtain the Dragon God's Core, our plans can proceed without hindrance."
"Good. You may leave now—except for Di Tian."
Gu Yue dismissed the others, keeping only Di Tian behind. Her gaze suggested she had important matters to discuss. "Di Tian, there are things I wish to ask you—not as the Silver Dragon King, but as the shared ruler of all soul beasts. This concerns the future of our kind, so heed my words carefully."
"Sovereign!" Di Tian bowed nervously.
Ignoring his unease, Gu Yue continued, "I have spent several years by Bai Xu's side, and he has never treated me with suspicion. He has been truthful about everything. I am not a fool—I have come to understand the current state of the continent. Now, I entrust you with this knowledge.
But first, tell me—what do you think of Bai Xu?"
Di Tian hesitated but answered, "He is cunning, a man chosen by the plane itself, one who understands the past and future. We must remain wary of him."
"Indeed, we must be cautious. Though he is our ally, we cannot relinquish the initiative to him. Once he and I reach the Title Douluo level, the soul contract binding us will dissolve… and by then, who knows what may happen? That is why I have agreed to let him use the Dragon God's Core once."
Di Tian was startled but quickly grasped her meaning. "Sovereign, are you suggesting we use the Dragon God's Core to temporarily control Bai Xu?"
"Yes. A wise man does not stand beneath a crumbling wall. From the information he has revealed, I have learned that he is destined to clash with the current Plane's Master, Tang Hao.
Bai Xu carries the karmic burden of the Plane's Will—he must help it reclaim the plane. His conflict with Tang Hao is inevitable, and it may even come down to a life-or-death struggle.
