Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The light in the Dark

In the stillness of the night, a powerful strike broke the silence, causing a bright flash and a cloud of dust to rise.

"Are you serious? Is that all you've got?" said a man standing on the ground, glowing with white light. He was the Lord of Radiance, the one who possessed the mother Eye of Radiance. We see him from his right side, his hand covering his left eye as he looks up at his opponent—calm, yet his face showing signs of anger. He radiated a dark blue-purple hue. His eye was unknown; we see him from afar. His element is mysterious.

The Lord of Light spoke, "Are you a monster?" smiling with the grin of a seasoned warrior. He rushed forward at light speed. But the mysterious opponent struck him with equal force and speed, hurling him into a nearby lake. That strike gave birth to what is now known as the Waterfall of the light .

Then we return to follow Dark in his search for the one who wields the Deep Light element (not to be confused with the Light element). He begins asking everyone he meets, but people avoid him because of the two points in his eyes.

He walks near a fountain and looks at his reflection in the water."This useless element… it only holds me back. Even in this…" he says, but quickly shakes off the frustration. He sees a nearby shop selling accessories, buys a pair of sunglasses, and calms himself. The glow from the two points in his eyes begins to fade slightly. Wearing the glasses, he continues asking around. Eventually, people point him toward a girl with that element. Excited, he follows the directions into the back alleys of the City of Light.

"I better get out of here fast," he thinks to himself.

After a long, exhausting search, he still hasn't found her. He leans against a wall.

"Is this it? Is my journey ending here just because I couldn't find a girl?"

He sighs, but suddenly sees a figure in the distance. Someone with four points glowing in his eyes, clearly a user of some Wind element. He's assaulting a homeless girl—or maybe a homeless person, Dark can't tell; their thick curly hair covers their face.

Dark decides not to get involved."If I say anything, I'll be the next victim. No doubt they'll stop what they doing and just kick me and laugh at me ."

As he prepares to move on, he sees the attacker slice the person's face with a sharp wind blade. The hair moves just enough for Dark to see it's a girl—her face filled with pain, misery, and sorrow. A single tear falls from her right eye.

Without thinking, Dark leaps forward, channeling all his elemental energy into his fist. He sprints and punches the wind-user hard, sending him crashing to the ground.

The attacker stands back up, his eyes glowing bright green with large shining points. He is furious.

"How dare you touch me, you worm!"

Dark stands between the girl and her attacker, trying to protect her.

"What am I doing? This is suicide… but I can't let her die. At least this way, I'll end this miserable life doing something decent. I'm sorry… I've let you down again."

He imagines a powerful figure walking down a path, crowds on both sides watching with awe.

The wind-user starts attacking Dark mercilessly with sharp wind blades."You filthy pig! How DARE you touch me! How dare you interfere!"

Dark withstands the attacks but falls to his side."I'm about to pass out…"

The girl watches, crying. As the final blow is about to be delivered, a great flame ignites around the wind-user's head. He screams in pain and tries to extinguish the fire with wind, but it only fuels the flames.

Dark turns to see Laiver arriving at full speed.

The wind-user tries to escape, but the fire consumes him. His charred body falls to the ground a few meters away. Laiver looks at him."Pathetic."

While unconscious, Dark dreams. He sees himself walking in a barren desert. There, next to a well, is a girl with long black hair. She looks at him.

"It's still too early… but we'll meet again soon."

She pushes him into the well, and he wakes up in an alleyway in the slums of the City of Light. The homeless girl is next to him, her eyes still hidden under thick hair.

"You're awake! Thank goodness," she says cheerfully. "Thank you… really. You saved me. I don't know how to repay you."

Dark replies, "It's fine… you don't owe me anything."

He looks down."You're not disgusted by me? I have two points, you know…"

"Not at all. You're my savior," she answers.

Laiver, sitting nearby, interrupts,"Ahem… someone's forgetting about me."

"Thank you, Laiver," says Dark. "If it weren't for you, I'd be dead."

Laiver replies, "You've got a brave heart. If I were you, I'd have kept walking. Not my problem. You're interesting."

Dark says, "I hate saying this because it sounds dramatic and heroic… but my body moved on its own. It's the second time this has happened."

"Anyway… what's your name?"

The girl answers, "I'm Mirai, a homeless girl from the City of Light."

Dark introduces himself, "I'm Dark. I live in the outskirts—in Eternal Village."

"Wow, that's far! What brought you here?" asks Mirai.

Laiver adds, "Yeah, did you find the person you were looking for?"

Dark replies, "No… I still haven't found the girl with the Deep Light element. Honestly, I'm starting to feel hopeless."

Mirai pauses, then says, "Um… I think I'm the one you're looking for."

She lifts her hair, revealing glowing golden-yellow eyes with three radiant points.

Dark and Laiver are stunned."No way…"

Dark grabs her hands."Will you help me become stronger? Please!"

Mirai replies, "What?"

Dark explains his experience at Waterfall of the light and its dangers. Mirai asks:

"Before anything… I want to know why you did it. Why do you want to be stronger? What goal are you willing to die for?"

Dark answers, "Alright… let me tell you my story…

My father abandoned me. I had to move in with my grandfather—he was a Gold Element wielder, marked with four points. But he was a harsh man… He used to beat me, forced me to live in an old shed in the forest. I had no friends, nothing. He would come, throw me some food, and leave. He treated me like I was broken. Always said: 'If it wasn't for you… none of this would've happened. You're a curse.'

Almost every day, I'd be beaten. And outside that shed, things weren't better either. Kids my age—wanting to test their elemental powers—used me like I was a dummy. I still remember the feeling of lying in a muddy ditch, just a lump of dirt in their eyes.

But there was one thing... one little thing that brought a glimmer of warmth to my life.

A cat.

I found it deep in the forest. It became my only friend. I fed it, kept it warm—it warmed me in return. It helped me survive. But then… one day, I went out fishing in a nearby pond. I left the window open.

The biggest mistake of my life.

On my way back to the shed, I saw them… the bullies. They had found the cat.

I was terrified. I didn't want to get hurt again. I didn't want to fight.

I was still just a scared little boy.

So I hid behind the trees… frozen. Paralyzed. I couldn't move.

I watched them kick him. fire wielder amoung the kids Burn him and the other kids

Tortured with their powers. And I just stood there.

When they finally left… I came out, trembling… I found the cat's body.

Shredded. Broken. Torn apart.

I stood there… feeling absolutely nothing at first. Then something else. Something I still can't name.

I buried him quietly, and from that moment on… anything that made me happy was gone.

My life lost all meaning.

I went back to the shed, to that miserable place, and got beaten again. But I didn't feel anything anymore.

Just emptiness.

About a week later, the old bastard ordered me to go into town to get some supplies. I couldn't refuse—I never could.

I walked into the town… the streets were full. People were lining up. Looked like a parade or something.

And in that crowd… I saw a thief. I still remember him—he was an Iron Element user. Five points. He was trying to snatch an old lady's bag people didnt bother even looking at that lady they dont wanna be involved .

At first, I felt nothing.

But then I saw her face.

Her terrified face looked just like the cat's before they… before they killed him.

Without thinking—like today—I ran forward. I screamed, gathered every ounce of my elemental power into my fist, and tried to punch him.

He didn't budge.

Instead, he kicked me. Slammed me to the ground. Formed a metal shard and jammed it into my leg. The ground was wet and muddy. I just lay there, waiting for it to be over. To die.

People stared. Not with pity… but disgust. Like I was filth.

Even the old lady forgot about her bag. She just looked at me like I was trash.

Then… just as the thief raised his arm to finish me—

A blinding light.

Everything turned a pale, almost yellow-green.

People froze.

Someone was there—someone whose elemental output was so immense it made everyone drop to their knees.

He stood behind the thief. The thief passed out from the sheer pressure of it.

That man… he looked around, calm, regal. Then came over to me, knelt down, and asked with the warmest voice I've ever heard:"Are you alright?"

He smiled.

A smile that burned all my fear and pain to ash.

He healed me with a single touch. Cleaned me with a wave of his hand. Then he stood, looked around, and declared:"Whoever governs this district… is fired."

And just like that, he walked away.

A guard tried to escort him, but he said:"No need. I'll walk."

He moved with power… with presence. Everyone was stunned. No one could speak.

In that moment, I told myself:That's what I want.

That power. That presence. That awe.

So I called out to him. "How did you become like that?!"

He turned, smiled again."So you can speak?"Then he said:"I'll answer that question… if you make your way into the Dream Hunters Squad. In four years."

And then he left.

Later, I found out who he was.

Jason The Legend.Master of the First Dimension.Bearer of the Rare Eye.Wielder of the Plasma Element. The strongest being in the First Dimension.

From that day… I made a vow.

To keep my promise. To find a way to stand before him again.

That's my story.

Dark looked into her eyes.

"So… will you help me?"

Mirai smiled gently."Of course I will."

Laefer grinned."You really are something, Dark. This is my friend… and he knows the Master of the First Dimension!"

He laughed softly."Alright, alright… let's get some sleep. Tomorrow, we head to the Shimmering Falls. I want to see that light experiment for myself."

At dawn, after a cold night sleeping in the alleyway, the three of them washed their faces at the fountain.

Then they set off—toward the Waterfall of the light .
