Chapter 11 - The Jerk Who Cares

Lukas's POV :

What is this feeling? A new feeling.

Is this irritation? Annoyance? Or worse....

JEALOUSY?!

No Way!

Goddammit.

But whatever it is, I felt that twist in my chest when my eyes locked on Kurt holding the Nerd like she was some priceless diamond.

The whole class was awestruck, some teasing them openly (much to my annoyance). It looked like she genuinely enjoyed being in Kurt's arms.

Damnit Nerd...

Some girls were green with envy, while others were already pulling out their phones, filming every second. Definitely. They found prime content for their cringe-worthy profiles.

How ROMANTIC, right?

My Foot.

Just then, Mr. Ellerson cleared his throat, snapping everyone's attention back to the present. I sighed in relief. I owed him a big time (though I'm not exactly sure why).

Kurt and the Nerd snapped out of their 'precious' moment and pulled apart, both blushing furiously. She still had his jacket wrapped around her waist like some prized possession.

Mr. Ellerson scanned the room with a steely glare.

"Who did this?" he asked coldly.

I scanned the faces of my classmates and immediately noticed Cassie fidgeting with her fingers, eyes fixed on the floor. I'm good at reading faces.

And now, I knew exactly who the culprit was.

It was Cassie.

She did that.

I knew neither she nor anyone else expected this, but—

"Sir, I know exactly who did it," I smirked.

The room went silent. Everyone's eyes widened, and Cassie sighed in relief. I knew why. She expected me to save her and pin it on someone else. But instead, I pointed straight at her.

"It's Cassie," I said, my tone dead serious, no trace of joking. And everyone knew it

The Nerd blinked at me, just like the whole class, their eyes bouncing between me and Cassie.

Cassie's eyes widened in shock, and she shook her head wildly. "What—? No!" She screeched. She let out an ugly laugh and shot me a venomous look, "What are you saying, Lukie? You know I didn't! This nerd is just trying to play the victim card. She probably did it to herself to get attention from Kurt!"

At this, I smirked devilishly, "You're the liar here, darling."

Mr. Ellerson's eyes hardened as he looked at Cassie, "Cassandra, the Principal's office. With me. Now."

She flinched, glaring at me like she wanted to tear me apart before storming off with the teacher.

Once they left, everyone burst into cheers, gathering around me and patting my back.

Axel swung his arm over my neck, grinning like an idiot, like he always does, "Bro, why'd you do that? I thought she was your next target? Now, she will probably hate you! You lost a gem, man."

I rolled my eyes, smirking, as I locked eyes with Amara. She stared at me in disbelief, her eyes wide with shock. The same expression was plastered on Kurt's face. I grinned at Axel, "Couldn't let Kurt have all the credit. Cassie was the culprit- I just exposed the truth. Nothing more."

I glanced back at Amara and walked towards her, my eyes trailing to her empty seat, "Poor Nerdy Grandma..." I whispered with a playful sneer before locking eyes with her, "No need to thank me for giving you justice."

I bent slightly to meet her gaze, lowering my voice conspiratorially, "I can gift you a new skirt on behalf of Cassie. A short one."

She blushed furiously and swallowed hard. She's looking...cute. Her cheeks flushed deeper as she shook her head, "N-No thanks..." she stammered, "I-I'm okay...."

I straightened with a smug grin and shrugged, "Your wish, love."

Her cheeks flushed even more, and I winked at her before turning toward Kurt, "Always playing savior, huh? Good. At least you saved her ass."

I spun around and sat back in my seat, crossing my legs on top of my desk and folding my hands behind my head, "Everyone, sit down", I commanded. Instantly, they obeyed. After all-

NO ONE DARES TO DISOBEY LUKAS ENDRIQUEZ.

Except, of course, Nerdy Grandma.

"Yo, Granny. Sit here," I said, patting the seat next to me and shoving Axel aside.

She narrowed her eyes and shook her head firmly, "No thanks. I'll go to the office and talk with the staff to exchange the chair."

And with that, she walked away.

Feisty.

And I liked that.

----------------------------------------------------------

The school buzzed with chatter and laughter. It was lunch break, and everyone was heading off to different places— Cafeteria, the outside, the courtyard, music room, basketball and volleyball courts, even the hallways. Not me, though. I wasn't going anywhere. 'Cause I was heading straight to the library. Yeah, yeah, I know— I'm not the nerdy type who rushes to the library the second lunch break starts. BUT AMARA IS THAT TYPE.

Yeah, you get the idea. I was looking for the nerd.

I pushed open the library doors, and scanned the room.

As expected—all the nerds were already there. OF COURSE.

WHAT DID I EVEN EXPECT?!

I glanced around until my eyes locked onto her. There she was, buried in a book, all nervous and awkward-looking. I couldn't help but grin. I slid my hands into my pockets and strutted over to her desk, letting my signature smirk stretch across my face.

"Hey, Nerdy Granny," I grinned.

She looked up and quickly ooked away, her cheeks flushed with panic.

"Y-Yeah? How may I help y—"

Before she could even finish, I rested my hands on her desk and leaned in close.

"Oh, you can help me with many things."

Her eyes went wide, and she shoved me away. How brave of her.

"U-uh—say it from there! What do you want?" she stammered.

I smirked and shrugged, "Nothing. Just wanted to check on you. Coming to Max's party tomorrow?"

She nodded, "Yeah...I guess...I just want to make new friends...but..." Tears started rolling down her eyes. "I hope it's not a trap..."

My eyes softened—just for a moment but it did, "If it's a trap..." I smirked, "Kurt and I'll be there."

I yawned, "Don't get any wrong ideas. It's just that.... whenever I bully someone, I don't like them getting bullied by anyone else. Sp yeah...come to the party. It'll be fun."

I winked before leaving behind the flushed nerd.

Tomorrow's gonna be a fine Saturday.
