"You fool!" Helmeppo was smacked across the room .
"You were supposed to kill them and take more of their money "The figure said. He was shrouded in darkness .
"I'll deal with this myself " The figure said as he moved to the door picking up an axe on the way .
Streets of Shells Village
The streets of Shells Village trembled with hurried footsteps. Merchants shuttered their stalls, mothers pulled children inside by the wrist, and the air hung heavy with unease. Whispers spread faster than the sea breeze: "He's coming."
Then the ground seemed to quake. A column of Men, feet striking in perfect rhythm, marched down the cobbled main road like an iron tide. At their head towered a man who looked less like flesh and more like a fortress carved into human form. His left jaw was plated in steel, glinting in the fading sun. His broad right arm held a battle-axe, which he seamlessly lifted easily.
Morgan.
Every villager's gaze dipped the instant his shadow stretched over them. Those who dared to look saw only cruelty in his narrowed eyes, a tyrant's pride in the way he puffed his chest. The weight of who he was , he was one of the men who worked under Boss Kyoshiro from the Capital.
"Out of my way," Morgan's voice growled, metallic and sharp, carrying like the clang of chains. He didn't shout, yet the crowd parted instantly, leaving the road bare for his passage.
He did not march to colect protection fees . No, everywhere he went death followed and just like any other day today was no different he marched for blood. The villages sent their prayers for the person who Morgan could be going after .
One of his trembling lieutenants hurried to his side. "Boss our scouts confirmed it. The nobleman who paid for the release of Roronoa Zoro has been sighted on other side of the village. It looks like they were planning on taking off after getting Roronoa Zoro"
Morgan's lip curled. "Leaving so quickly huh. I dont think so ."
He stopped, slamming his axe-arm into the ground with a ringing clang. Villagers flinched, ears ringing at the sound. His soldiers stiffened, standing straighter under his scornful gaze.
"These nobles come here and think their money, their name, means they are untouchable. They think they can walk where they wish. But here, in Shells Village…" A cruel smile stretched across his scarred face. "Only my law decides who lives not even Kyoshiro's word matters more than mine ." Morgan had concluded that Kagaya was a noble because no normal man could have so much money with them and to top it all of , spend it on the release of someone they had never even met .
The men around him barked an obedient "Yes, Boss Morgan !" but their eyes were uneasy, darting between their branch leader's shadow .
Morgan raised his axe, the steel catching the dying light of sunset. "We will take the noble alive. To squeeze him dry till he gives us the last bit of money he has and a ransom while we are at it —his head will line the rise of my reputation as Morgan the great . His wife…" His gaze hardened. "No one escapes the hand of Morgan."
Kagaya was waiting patiently for his wife to retrieve Zoro . After giving Helmeppo the money , he sent someone to got get Zoro's swords while he left to speak to Morgan . Kagaya already knew what was coming , from hearing rumors about the kind of man Mrogan was , he knew he would come for him .
When they traveled to the Capital they didn't take any slayers or security . He just went alone with his wife Amane .He wanted to avoid detection by any one who could possibly leak the information of how he looks . Rather than disguising himself he believed that the best disguise was having no disguise at all. He wanted to see the new shogun himself with his own eyes . He firmly believed that there was more than what meets the eye . His hypothesis was that the new shogun had dealings with Muzan , but it was only a hypothesis. He would keep a close eye on the moves the new shogun makes .
He was brought out of his thought process the sounds of marching feet . He raised his head to look up and saw a group of people being lead by a giant man who wielded a battle axe . Kagaya assumed that was Morgan and his men .
Morgan and his men stopped before Kagaya . Slamming his axe to the ground . Kagaya greeted them with a smile .
"Are you the man who paid for the freedom of Roronoa Zoro?"Morgan asked. In his honesty Morgan had not expected for the man to look so graceful. He wondered whether all nobles are this graceful but he dismissed that thought after recalling the past where he accompanied Kyoshiro . Its just this man he thought to himself .
"I dont care about why you paid for his freedom but I care about the fact that you paying for his freedom was going against my word which is law and my word said that he is to be executed. You'll have to pay an extra fine of 1 million " Morgan said as he looked at Kagaya menacingly. His hand already on his axe . Kagaya still smiled .
"I apologize, I dont have any more money, I used it all up to pay for Roronoa Zoro's freedom " Kagaya said as he looked up to Morgan without any hint of fear in his eyes . The lack of fear angered Morgan as he lifted his axe .
"Then why dont you serve your purpose by dying for me " Morgan said as he lifted his axe and swung it to Kagaya . Kagaya saw the incoming axe but he had no regrets , all he had was faith , he knew that he would make it .
*Clang *
The axe stopped dead in its tracks just as it was about to hit Kagaya straight on the neck . It was stopped by two swords . The wielded of those swords was none other than Zoro . He had made it just in time . Although Zoro was blocking the axe he was not focused on Morgan instead he began speaking to Kagaya
"Kagaya , having bought my freedom today I officially join your ranks that I can promise you , but I want you to know one thing while im with the only thing im truly dedicating myself is to fulfilling my ambition. "
"Which is ?"Kagaya asked Zoro
"To be nothing less than the world's greatest swordsman "Zoro said with conviction
"If somewhere along the way I have to give that up then I want you to accept responsibility after which you get to apologize to me "
Kagaya looked at Zoro and smiled
"The world's greatest swordsman sounds pretty good , I want to kill the progenitor of all demons so I'll need nothing less than the greatest swordsman "
"You talk big , from this point no matter if im in your ranks I will spread the name Zoro throughout the world." Zoro said with conviction
Angered that he couldn't push his axe any further Morgan yelled at the men behind him
" What the hell are you waiting for ,finish them all, i want them dead and at my feet"
