Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : Missed alarm.

Tara was a new joiner — shy, introverted, and not the kind of girl who liked attention. She was wandering through the corridor, trying to find her classroom. Feeling unsure, she decided to ask a guy standing nearby. He was talking to someone — a girl — and his back was facing her.

She couldn't see his face, but she lightly tapped on his shoulder.

He turned around.

And in that moment, Tara froze.

He had kind, charming eyes. Perfect lips. A muscular build. And his overall vibe? A mix of calm and charisma. The definition of a cute, handsome guy. The kind you'd find in a movie... or maybe a dream.

She just stood there, completely lost in his gaze, unable to say a single word.

Say something… say anything…

Why am I staring like a statue?!

He gave her a puzzled look, then turned back to his conversation without a word.

Embarrassed beyond belief, Tara mentally screamed.

Ughh! Now it'll be super awkward to even ask him for directions… I looked like a total fool!

Trying to escape the moment, she turned away — only to bump into another girl.

"Hey, do you know where this room is?" she asked quickly.

The girl smiled. "Yeah, I'm going there too. I'm Maya."

Just like that, the day flipped — from a face she couldn't forget to a friend she never expected.

Tara and Maya soon introduced themselves. Maya was different — a rebel girl who didn't talk to anyone, and honestly didn't care to. But Tara's quiet energy balanced her out.

From strangers to classmates...

To best friends forever.

Tara and Maya entered the campus gate just as Lav passed by them. Tara was struck not physically, but by his presence. Maya nudged her playfully, teasing, "You're staring again.Tara tried to deny it, but her heart had other plans. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't stop thinking about him. She found him attractive—too attractive—and before she could help it, thoughts of confessing started creeping into her mind.

She even practiced how she might propose to him... at home, of course, using a pillow as his stand-in. Every day, she cooked lunch for him

Every day, she handed him lunch in the ground without a word. He'd pick it up silently, pretending like he accepted it willingly—maybe because he didn't want to hurt her feelings. But once she walked away, he'd leave the lunchbox untouched under the tree.

And yet… by the end of lunch break, when Tara went to check, the box would always be empty.

Lav didn't eat it.

"Later, on the day of the practicals, Maya was already at school, punctual as always. Meanwhile, Tara was still fast asleep in bed, unaware that she was running late.""The day before, one of Tara's cousins had come over to stay. While Tara stepped into the kitchen to help her mom, his little brother — a mischievous 3-year-old — got his hands on her phone. He was just messing around: opening apps, closing tabs, even deleting a few pictures. And, of course, in the chaos, he also turned off her alarm. Not that he knew what he was doing... but yeah — that happened."

"When Tara came out of the kitchen, she found the little guy playing some random game on her phone. She just took it back with a smile, not thinking much, and went to sleep. The next morning? The alarm didn't ring and this little troublemaker hadn't just turned it off, he'd also put her phone on silent."Maya tried calling Tara not once, not twice, but three times—each one met with silence. Her phone was still on silent mode." Meanwhile, her mom, while taking the trash out, noticed Tara's shoes still by the door... and that's when it hit her — Tara was still home."

When her mom finally woke her up, Tara's eyes were puffy, barely open, as she struggled to snap out of sleep. What followed was a classic mom-style scolding — loud, sharp, and yes, a flying slipper may or may not have made an appearance. Half-awake and fully panicking, Tara shoved a slice of bread into her mouth while pulling on her clothes. She hopped on one leg, trying to get her socks and shoes on — the bread still clenched between her teeth — and didn't even bother fixing her hair. It was chaos. Absolute chaos.Tara was in such a mad rush, she was literally fixing her hair while running down the street. Her bag was swinging off one shoulder, shoes barely tied, and breath short as she tried to catch the second bus — the only hope left. But just as she reached the stop… the bus pulled away. Right before her eyes. Tara froze, panting, watching it disappear. She sighed in disbelief, lips parted, too stunned to even curse.

Meanwhile, at school, Maya kept glancing at the gate, her usual calm cracking into worry. She tapped her foot, arms crossed, silently hoping Tara would come in any moment. But time kept ticking… and Tara was still nowhere in sight.

Just as Tara let out a tired sigh, a sharp car honk broke the silence. She turned around, confused—someone had stopped right behind her.
