Landon's POV
A board member had drawn my father into some lengthy conversation and with his attention locked there, I used the opportunity. That was my chance. I slipped away unnoticed, my steps silent but my pulse hammering in my ears.
Some janitors were cleaning the floor after Lance's secretary came to take him away after my father held me from attacking him any further.
I was headed for Adrian's office. I needed to see how he was doing. I needed to know. To see whether he was finally calmed from his storm because only that way will my restless wolf in my head calm down.
But when I saw him from the opposite end of the hall, he was rushing out of his office, his face taut and his movements sharp with urgency.
"I found the list you requested of the men who got tattoos years ago!" his secretary called after him, but he didn't stop. He just kept going, leaving a trail of tension in his wake.
