Chapter 103 - Chapter 103: Speedrun 14

A moment later Senzo had also arrived at the new floor and carefully observed all his surroundings.

"..."

He stood there silently looking at the birds, giant bats, and all the other monsters flying in the sky; his eyelids twitched slightly just thinking about how long clearing this would take.

"We will charge straight through, so Death and Famine, you two weaken the monsters as much as possible with your abilities," Senzo ordered, and without waiting for a reply, all four of them took off into the sky.

Senzo completely ignored all the islands and rushed straight up; he had a hunch that the next staircase would be all the way at the top, so the faster they arrived, the better.

Death and Famine exchanged knowing glances, but they didn't mind; if they took the normal route, it could take days to reach the next staircase, so it was normal for Senzo to do it like this.

War, on the other hand, tightly grasped his red greatsword while grumbling; he was basically completely useless in this situation after all.

"Hurry up and get through this, please!" he muttered, clearly dissatisfied.

Death and Famine couldn't help but chuckle at War's grumbling; seeing him act like that was very nostalgic for them.

But now they had to focus on properly executing Senzo's orders, so they both shook their heads slightly and looked up at the sky filled with monsters of all varieties.

"Let's do this, Famine!" Death proudly exclaimed.

And a moment later both of them deployed their abilities that could easily weaken their enemies; Famine used his starvation aura and resource void on top of each other, and combined with Death's oblivion pulse, it looked like Senzo and the three others were surrounded by a domain-like entity.

And while it wasn't super large, this was more than enough—by concentrating the powers into a shorter range, they became much more effective. When a couple of giant bats approached, trying to devour the prey that had beautifully presented itself, they were killed instantly upon contact with the sphere.

"Impressive," Senzo said, and after seeing how effective this domain-like power was, he immediately sped up their ascent.

The other giant bats didn't dare to casually approach them anymore, but that didn't mean they were completely useless either; instead, all of them took a deep breath and shot massive sound waves at Senzo and the others.

"Denied!" Senzo stated, and with a single wave of his arm, all the sound waves shot at them vanished from sight. He didn't have time to deal with all these bastards, so instead of wiping them out, he quickly flew past all the giant bats.

But that didn't mean this was the end; after all, there were numerous other monsters populating the sky, and it looked like all these monsters each had a territory because after he flew above the bats, they didn't try to attack them anymore from below.

"Master, watch out!" Famine exclaimed suddenly.

The four of them suddenly came to a halt as they were completely surrounded by humanlike flying monsters.

"They look like harpies..." Senzo muttered, while bracing himself for the incoming attack that would inevitably come.

War and the other two also braced themselves; while the combined domain surrounding them was strong, it couldn't instakill all of the monsters currently surrounding them.

"War you can go wild; I'll create footholds for you, so don't worry about falling," Senzo said. A moment later, he threw War straight toward all the harpies.

"Huh?"

Was all War, Death, and Famine could mutter as their eyes widened. But they didn't have the leisure to care about War right now—the moment Senzo threw him out, all the harpies charged at them as well.

"Kill!" Senzo screamed; his eyes were bloodshot. These motherfuckers were clearly wasting his time.

With Senzo in the middle, Death on his left, and Famine on the right, the three of them were immediately drowned by countless harpies from all sides; luckily, the domain surrounding them killed a large number of enemies and weakened the ones that weren't insta-killed.

And while Senzo and the others were massacring them in large numbers, War was doing the same, but he didn't rush back to help them. He had complete faith in Famine and Death protecting the master.

What he had to do now was go wild and kill as many as physically possible.

"Hahahaha!"

His armor was once again red after being covered by liters of harpy blood, but he didn't even notice as he jumped from one place to another, cutting every monster in sight. It was quite a weird feeling being able to walk, run, and jump around in the sky like this.

Even all the spectral warriors he had summoned were being taken care of by Senzo; he had to give it to him. This strategy was only possible due to Senzo's excellent control over his abilities.

And luckily for him, Senzo apparently still trusted him, because throwing him right into the enemy like this was basically a death sentence for probably anyone else.

But I'm strong!

Even though he was constantly attacked and his armor looked terrible, War was becoming more and more ferocious by the second. At first he was struggling a little bit, but now it was a complete one-sided slaughter.

The same could be said for Senzo and the other two; at first they were being careful not to be caught off guard by any of the attacking monsters, but as the fight went on, they were quickly becoming accustomed to their overwhelming numbers, and they dispatched them more efficiently than before.

"Get lost!" Senzo shouted, and the moment he did, with him at the center, all the harpies surrounding him and the other two were blown away.

Without hesitation Senzo rushed up while taking War and all the spectral warriors along. "Ignore the rest; the most important thing is to get to the next batch of islands."

War and the others all nodded; it would probably not be an issue to take care of all the monsters here, but they would lose way too much time in doing so.

"Good thinking, master," Death praised; he was getting so immersed in killing those monsters it would have been impossible for him to make a decision like Senzo.

"Keep what I just did in mind for the next times as well; try to thin out their numbers and give me an opportunity to blow the rest away."
