Rowan's POV
I shoved my hands deep into my pockets, my mind a mess of thoughts I couldn't shake.
Maeve's laugh was still stuck in my head, soft and bright, like a melody I didn't want to forget.
Damn it, she was cute.
Too cute.
And I couldn't stop thinking about how gorgeous she'd looked tonight, with her hair spilling over her shoulders, her eyes catching the light like stars.
Fenric stirred inside me, his voice low and growling. You're losing her. To Lucian. To Elias.
"Shut up," I snapped.
You smelled him all over her. Lucian. Fenric's growl was sharper this time. He kissed her. You know it.
I clenched my jaw, my fists curling reflexively as I walked through the darkened campus toward the gym.
Yeah, I knew it.
The faint trace of Lucian's scent had been all over her when she came back, faint but enough to make my blood boil. Lucian had kissed her. Probably during one of their stupid rehearsals.
