"This is… wow. Maeve, this is like a fairytale exploded. In a good way." Ava cheerfully said.
Freya snorted. "Wait until you see the masquerade ball. The heirs practically live for it. You know, looking mysterious and broody behind masks."
I rolled my eyes, but I couldn't help the tiny smile tugging at my lips. "Don't listen to her. It's probably just a bunch of people in overpriced costumes trying to outshine each other."
"Well, I'm already impressed," Ava said, brushing a strand of blonde hair out of her face.
We were told to help set up the decorations, streamers, flowers, and props for what I assumed would be the acting stage.
Ava dove right in, humming under her breath as she climbed a ladder to hang a garland of ivy.
That was when I noticed.
People were staring at her.
