As for why there was a specific number? Well, Mike knew that it was common knowledge that he lacked, so he wanted to see how long it would take for him to fully grasp its meaning.
Did this have any practical benefits in the long or short run?
No.
Did Mike do it both to satisfy his own vanity while also acting on a random thought he had in the moment?
Yes.
With that out of the way, Theresa and Mike settled on the couches in the living room as she addressed him seriously.
