The door to the count's chambers opened as Sylvan and Vale walked inside with smiles on their faces.
"Lord Clive!" Sylvan and Vale bowed.
"Sylvan! Any updates?" Clive asked.
"We've got it!" Sylvan said with a smile as he pulled out a glass dome with the glowing red flower inside.
"WHAT!? I can't believe it! Great! Great! Haha!" Clive jumped up in shock. He laughed out loud in excitement.
"Thank you! Thank you so much Sylvan! I can't thank you enough!" he held Sylvan's hand and thanked him, tears flowed out of his eyes, the relief he felt was indescribable.
"Call the alchemist right now!" Clive commanded to the guard outside.
*****
In Mary's room, count Clive was sitting beside the capsule bed where Mary was.
Sylvan and vale were standing beside the count, and in front of them was an old man with white hair and beard in a blue robe, inspecting the flower in his hand.
He was the famous alchemist of the town and professor in the local school of alchemy, and was also a master alchemist.
His expression was fluctuating continuously, he was doubtful, confused and sometimes shook his head. He just kept his eyes fixed on the flower.
"What's the matter master Zane? Is everything alright?" Clive asked.
"I think you've got the wrong flower lord Clive!"
"What do you mean wrong master Zane?" Sylvan asked.
"This is not the Noon bloom but Midday pancy!" Zane said.
"They look exactly alike except the difference in mana radiating out of two! Your team may have made a mistake because of that!"
Lord Clive's face fell. All his excitement vanished upon hearing master Zane.
"I apologize for this blunder lord Clive!" Sylvan bowed and apologized in shame.
"It's alright Sylvan! It's not your fault! I guess even the heavens doesn't want my daughter to live!"
Just then the door to the room opened and Roger walked inside with hurried steps.
Vale was surprised seeing him, as there was no reason for him to come here, that too in such a crucial moment. A bad feeling started rising inside him.
"Marshall! You took the wrong flower in a hurry! I've brought the real one here!" Roger exclaimed with a smile as he reached near them.
Sylvan opened his eyes wide in shock. He knew that Roger was lying to save his face. But he was skeptical of the flower that he brought.
Still, he tried to take the risk one more time.
Sylvan took the glass dome from Roger and passed it to master Zane.
Zane took the flower and started inspecting again. Clive kept looking with anticipation, for a moment he even forgot to breathe.
"Yes! This is the noon bloom!"
A sigh of relief escaped everyone. Sylvan looked at Roger as if he was looking at his savior and nodded in approval.
Roger scoffed at Vale when the later looked at him with a shocked face.
Vale couldn't believe it since he knew, his team had stolen it from Roger's team only, then how did they get the real flower.
"Thank the heavens!" relief dawned on Clive's face.
"But there is one small problem!" Zane doused the burning excitement with a cold splash of his words.
"What now!?" Sylvan asked in exasperation.
"It is still not mature! Instead of one, we'll need two flowers or else a fully mature one!"
Just then the door opened and a man in his forties, tall stature, buffed, long curly black hair and a long beard, wearing a red coat with the emblem of the adventurers guild on his chest, entered inside.
"Lord Clive!" he greeted the count with a bow.
"Guildmaster Aldos! What do I owe the pleasure of your visit?" Clive asked, surprised at his visit.
"I've come with good news Lord Clive! That's why I've come to give it to you in person!"
"You mean…!" hope and excitement reignited on Clive's face.
"Yes! Our capable adventurers were successful!" Aldos pulled out a glass dome with a red glowing flower from his dimensional ring.
"Hahaha! I can't thank you enough guildmaster! You've come as a savior today! Thank you! Thank you!" Clive jumped up from his seat in excitement.
"There's nothing to thank lord Clive! I just fulfilled my responsibility!" Aldos bowed humbly and passed the glass dome to master Zane.
"It's the noon bloom indeed! Alright! Now bring me a few materials lord Clive. I'll be needing them for the concoction."
"Dew grass, gin tuber, snow lilies, salamander scale, a fire mana stone and some holy water." Zane recited the name of a few ingredients that were common and available, except the Holy water which was procured from the temple at quite the price.
"Absolutely master Zane!" Clive nodded and called for a servant.
After getting the instructions, the servant brought all the materials after a few minutes, and passed it to master Zane in a silver tray.
Master Zane pulled out a small blue cauldron from his dimensional ring and placed it on the table.
Mana flowed out of his hands and the ingredients started floating one by one and then moved towards the cauldron. The lid opened and the materials flowed inside. After putting the two noon blooms inside, he finally closed the lid.
Mana flowed towards the cauldron and the runes on it started glowing up. It floated above and started buzzing and shaking intensely.
Zane was masterfully controlling the cauldron and not a trace of unease could be seen on his face. After a few minutes, the cauldron stopped shaking.
The lid opened and a ball of red glowing liquid came out of it. Zane put the cauldron down and he controlled the liquid ball, moving it towards where Mary was.
He nodded at the count who then removed the transparent film covering the capsule. He held his daughter's mouth and pressed on her jaw, opening it wide.
The liquid passed through her mouth to the throat. Clive lifted her up so as to ease the liquid to pass down.
Mary's face wrinkled up from the taste as the liquid passed down. She was still not fully conscious and was in a state of half sleep.
The concoction started taking effect immediately as her body started heating up, sweat formed on her forehead and the ice crystals formed on her left side started melting away.
The region around her heart started glowing up as the circle took in the fire mana, stabilizing her freezing heart from the cold ice mana.
Slowly, she started opening her eyes. "F-father!?" she mumbled the word out, finding her father first upon waking up.
"Yes dear! I'm here!" he caressed her face and held her hand, tears of joy and relief flowing out.
"Where a-am I?"
"You're in your room! How are you feeling dear?"
"I'm just a b-bit stiff and also…hungry!"
Chuckles escaped everyone when they saw that she had woke up without any difficulties and was looking stable now.
"You take some rest. I'll ask the chef to prepare your favorite dishes!" Clive caressed her once again and leaving her to rest, he moved towards the gentlemen in the room.
"Thank you so much everyone! Thank you master Zane! Thank you general Roger, general Vale, Marshall and thank you so much guildmaster Aldos!! I can't express how thankful I am right now to everyone!"
"You're welcome lord Clive!" all four of them bowed, accepting his gratitude.
"Praising your hard work and effort, I'm doubling the reward for both the parties!!" Clive exclaimed.
Their eyes opened wide in shock, and slowly a smile crept into everyone's faces upon hearing the count.
"Thank you, lord Clive!" they said in unison.
