"Then what do we do?"
Shion wasn't much for thinking. Ask her to fight and she'd charge in without hesitation.
But when it came to using her brain, she was completely lost.
"Godou Kusanagi!"
Hinata suddenly remembered the name Damien had mentioned. "Lord Damien said that person is the Child of Destiny in the Campione world!"
"I'll start by finding him and see what the situation is like."
As for how to locate Godou Kusanagi in a sea of people…
Among the powers Hinata had received were plenty of spells and curses for finding humans.
A shrine maiden without a clear target would be hard to track down.
But Godou Kusanagi?
A name that unique probably didn't exist anywhere else in all of Japan.
Hinata decided to start with him and use that to locate the mystery side of Japan.
Then she would complete the descent ritual with the power she already possessed.
Once Luminas successfully descended and they had a peak-level Heretic God backing them, Hinata could turn the country into one of the Demon Lord's bases in the Campione world.
Of course she would be careful.
This was still Japan—same culture as her own—so she had no intention of causing needless slaughter here.
What Damien and Hinata didn't know was that the massive surge of magical energy in Athens, Greece, had already drawn the attention of the entire mystery side worldwide.
"Uncle."
In Italy, a girl with brilliant golden hair wearing a long red dress handed a document to her uncle. "The magic associations in Athens reported signs of a Heretic God descent."
The girl was Erica Blandelli, the young lady of the prestigious Blandelli family in the magic world.
The middle-aged man before her was her uncle, Paolo Blandelli, commander of the Copper-Black Cross magic association and one of the very few humans alive who had reached the Highest Rank.
"A Heretic God…"
Paolo's brow furrowed deeply. "Are you certain?"
Anything involving a Heretic God demanded the utmost seriousness, even if it was only the slightest trace.
"Judging from the observed concentration of magical energy at the time, that level of power is impossible for any human to produce."
"Then…"
"What about the Campiones?"
"At that moment every Campione was elsewhere."
"Moreover," Erica added, "the earthly Demon Lords may be powerful, but none of them could create that kind of world-shaking pressure."
"According to the local magicians, every person in the city felt the gaze of a vast, majestic existence."
"There is no doubt—only a Heretic God could cause such a phenomenon!"
Thanks to the speed of modern information sharing, the disturbance Damien had caused spread across the world almost instantly.
Italy's magic associations, England's Witenagemot, and every major mystery-side power in Europe were now discussing the incident.
"There's still one suspicious point, though," Paolo said. "If a Heretic God really descended, Athens should have been wiped off the map."
"Exactly," Erica agreed, equally puzzled. "Given how recklessly Heretic Gods behave once they're free of their myths, the moment one appeared it should have immediately rained divine punishment on the humans in the city."
Heretic Gods grew wildly unrestrained after breaking free from their legends.
Like a horse that had been kept in a stall too long, the longer they were suppressed, the more wildly they ran once released.
Yet none of that had happened.
The Heretic God had only shown a brief trace of its presence, stirred up a little chaos, and then vanished.
In all the recorded history of Heretic God descents, this was the first time anything like it had occurred.
"What does the Greenwich Witenagemot say?" Erica asked for the most critical piece of information.
Her close friend, the White Hime-Miko, possessed the finest spirit vision in the world.
If anyone could see something different, it would be her.
Spirit vision was a special form of observation.
Erica possessed the ability too, but her level was nowhere near Princess Alice's.
"For now they still…"
Paolo was about to say they didn't know when a phone call came in.
The Highest Rank knight answered immediately.
As he listened, his expression grew darker and darker. "Understood."
"What is it, Uncle?"
"Latest report."
"Princess Alice used spirit vision but was detected almost instantly and had to stop observing."
"Also, the princess is in bad shape—she apparently saw something truly terrifying."
"How is Her Highness?"
Erica was worried, but the good news was that Princess Alice had only fainted; at worst she had suffered some mental strain.
Although Alice's body was extremely frail, her soul was strong.
Even after being repelled by a Heretic God she had only been injured, not destroyed.
"Before she lost consciousness, Princess Alice gave us one shocking piece of information."
Paolo's voice was grave. "The Heretic Gods who descended this time were not one—they were two!"
"Two Heretic Gods?!"
That news was an unimaginable catastrophe for any faction.
A single Heretic God could unleash destruction on the scale of a natural disaster.
Two appearing at once—Erica didn't even want to imagine what would happen next.
"Sir Salvatore has already left for Greece."
"I hear the one from Eastern Europe has set out as well."
Salvatore—Salvatore Doni, one of the six known Campiones—was a battle maniac nicknamed the King of Swords.
Even before becoming a Campione he had loved challenging strong fighters around the world.
After becoming one he had clashed with several other Campiones.
Above all, what Doni loved most was hunting Heretic Gods and enjoying the thrill of fighting them.
The one Paolo mentioned from Eastern Europe was even more heavyweight.
The Wolf King of Eastern Europe—Marquis Voban.
The oldest living Campione and the Demon Lord with the greatest number of Authorities.
Clearly both of them had learned about the two Heretic Gods descending in Athens and had immediately begun to move.
