Chapter 25 - Generational Gap

The moment the elevator doors opened, the difference between Alexei's world and Elijah's became apparent.

It was… excessive, but in that unsettlingly tasteful way.

Elijah had been in cramped homes, lavish homes, and everything in between.

Although he hadn't lived in them, over time, he had gotten used to the way people tend to decorate their homes.

And this Condo was not decorated in the cluttered, nouveau‑riche way where every inch screamed please notice my money.

But was adorned in a subtle way where every detail whispered yes, I have money, and yes, I have more than you can ever imagine.

The floors were polished dark wood — the kind that probably had its own dedicated cleaner.

The walls were a rich matte gray, and somewhere, faintly, there was the unmistakable scent of expensive cologne layered over something spicier.

Probably a candle.

Alexei didn't seem the incense type. However, picturing him fussing with scented candles was somehow worse.
