Chapter 29 - CHAPTER 29: PASSING MY FINAL TEST

A month passed quickly, and Buveur had finished his training with Arcadian.

"That's it for your training, Buveur," Arcadian said with a smile.

Buveur frowned. "Has it really been a month already? I can't believe it."

Arcadian started laughing. "Yeah, I know—it feels like we just started training yesterday. But let's not forget we are immortals; time spans for humans are nothing to us. You're right—I am half‑vampire, half‑werewolf, and you're a pure‑blood vampire. Anyway, I feel a lot stronger than I did before," Buveur said, flexing his muscles.

"That's good to hear. Now you should go meet Breaton; his ninja training should be done as well," Arcadian said with a smile.

Buveur nodded, then bowed to Arcadian. "Thank you for your help, Master Arcadian." He left the training room to meet Breaton.

Meanwhile, in the room of endless time, Breaton had also finished his training with Jack.

"Breaton, your training is finished; however, there is one more thing you must do before you can leave. Use everything you have learned from me—test your ninja skills such as the body‑double technique and the element techniques: fire, water, earth, air, light, and shadow. And before I forget, you can take off the training weights as well," Jack said with a smile.

"Yes, as you say," Breaton replied. He quickly removed the weights, and his demon power surged.

"Incredible—I feel powerful," he said excitedly.

Oh, so you're feeling strong, "A"? Well, then let's put that to the test.

Jack snapped his fingers, and five body‑doubles of himself appeared. "Let's see how one of you fares against six of me," he said with a sneer.

"This is bad. I can only make one or two body doubles at most," Breaton thought, taking a fighting stance. "But, I've come this far, and I'm not backing down now."

"I can see you're ready—that's good. Now show me what you can do, underling," Jack replied.

Jack and his five doubles rushed at Breaton, attacking from all directions.

Without hesitation, Breaton summoned his two body doubles to fight alongside him. "There are three of us and six of them. We'll each fight two of them," he said, his mind synchronizing with his doubles.

"Okay, I'll take the two on the right. I'll use fire and earth element techniques," the first body double said, their thoughts seamlessly linked.

"And I'll take the two on the left. I'll use water and air element techniques," the second body double replied.

"That leaves me with the two in the middle. I'll use light and shadow element techniques," Breaton said, the plan solidifying in their shared mindspace.

With their strategy set, the three Breatons charged into battle, each unleashing their chosen elemental techniques against their designated opponents. The outcome hung in the balance, as the two sides clashed in a spectacular display of martial arts and elemental powers.

The battle between Breaton and his doubles against Jack and his five clones was a clash of skill and strategy. Breaton and his two doubles charged forward, each determined to take down their opponents.

The first double faced two of the clones, unleashing a wave of flames that engulfed one clone, causing it to stumble back in a burst of fire. The double then summoned a pillar of earth to block an incoming attack from the second clone, countering with a powerful earth-infused punch that sent the clone crashing to the ground.

The second double took on another two clones, creating a whirlpool of water to sweep one clone off its feet, leaving it stumbling and off-balance. The double followed up with a barrage of air-infused slashes that cut through the air like sharp blades, forcing the clone to dodge desperately.

Meanwhile, Breaton faced off against Jack and one of his clones. The clone attacked with swift and deadly precision, but Breaton was a master of evasion, dodging and weaving between the clone's strikes. Jack, however, was a different story altogether. He was a formidable opponent, with skills honed to perfection.

Breaton used his light element to create a blinding flash, momentarily disorienting both Jack and the clone. He then manipulated shadows to create illusory duplicates of himself, making it impossible for them to track his real movements.

With his ninja training, Breaton struck with precision, landing swift and deadly strikes at the clone. But Jack was relentless, countering every move with ease. The two engaged in a fierce battle, their movements lightning-fast as they exchanged blows.

Despite being outnumbered, Breaton and his doubles held their own, using their elemental powers and ninja training to take down the clones one by one. In the end, it was Breaton against Jack, with the two engaging in a intense and closely matched fight.

Jack's skills were formidable, but Breaton's determination and training ultimately gave him the edge he needed. With a swift kick, Breaton sent Jack flying across the room, the ninja master landing in a crouch. Jack looked up at Breaton, a hint of a smile on his face. "You're a worthy opponent, Breaton. You've truly mastered the art of ninjutsu."

Jack's eyes gleamed with amusement as he sneered at Breaton. "That's what you'd like to believe, but you have a long way to go before you could ever surpass me," he taunted, snapping his fingers once more.

The air seemed to ripple and shimmer as seventy body doubles of Jack materialized around Breaton, their eyes all fixed intently on him. The sheer number of duplicates was overwhelming, and Breaton knew he was in for the fight of his life.

"Seems like the odds just got a whole lot worse for you," Jack said, his voice dripping with confidence. "Let's see how you handle this."

The seventy doubles charged forward as one, their movements eerily synchronized as they closed in on Breaton from all sides. Breaton's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with strategies as he prepared to face the onslaught.

Breaton attempted to activate his demon power, hoping it would give him the boost he needed to turn the tide of the battle. However, before he could even unleash his power, Jack proved to be one step ahead.

"If you think calling on your demon powers will help you, you're mistaken," Jack said with a smirk. "I am a jōnin, the highest rank in ninja. I am a one-man army."

With a fierce cry, Jack summoned the power of the thunder. "Sub Element: Thunderous Clap!" he shouted, and a blinding flash of light filled the air. The sound of thunder boomed through the room, and Breaton felt a powerful force strike him, sending him crashing to his knees.

"I concede this fight," Breaton said, defeated, as the light faded and he looked up at Jack.

Jack snapped his fingers, and all his body doubles vanished. He walked over to Breaton, a hint of a smile on his face. "You lost, but you passed your test. Congratulations, you are now a genin. You may go now, but never forget: no matter how strong you get, never become complacent."

Breaton bowed his head in respect. "Thank you, sensei. I will remember that always."

With a final nod, Breaton rose to his feet and left the training area, eager to meet up with Buveur and share the news of his accomplishment.

Breaton walked out of the training area, a sense of accomplishment and relief washing over him. He had passed his test and was now a genin, a ninja of the lowest rank but still a significant milestone in his journey.

As he made his way through the corridors, he spotted Buveur waiting for him outside the training rooms. Buveur's face lit up with a smile as he saw Breaton approaching.

"Hey, how did it go?" Buveur asked, curiosity etched in his voice.

Breaton grinned, feeling a sense of pride and satisfaction. "I passed," he said, a triumphant tone in his voice.

Buveur let out a whoop of excitement and clapped Breaton on the back. "That's awesome, man! I knew you could do it!" he exclaimed.

The two friends walked together, discussing their training and sharing stories about their experiences. They were both excited to take their skills to the next level and face new challenges together.

As Buveur merged back into Breaton, the two became one entity once again. Breaton felt the familiar sensation of Buveur's presence integrating back into his being.

"Great, now that you've done that, I'm craving blood and raw steak," Breaton said with a frown, his stomach growling in response to Buveur's influence.

"Will you quit your complaining?" Buveur's voice echoed in Breaton's mind. "It's just a side effect of merging. It'll pass."

Breaton rolled his eyes, accustomed to Buveur's nonchalant attitude. "Easy for you to say. You're not the one feeling like a ravenous beast."

With their merged form stabilized, Breaton and Buveur (in his internal voice) set off to check on Olissa, Breaton's hunger and cravings momentarily forgotten in the face of their friendship and concern for her well-being.

Breaton slipped into Olissa's quarters, the soft glow of lanterns casting gentle shadows on the walls. Olissa looked up, a serene smile playing on her lips as she cradled her slightly swollen belly—just two months along, but already carrying twins.

"Hey, Olissa," Breaton said, his voice soft and tender. He knelt beside her, gently resting a hand on her belly. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm doing okay," Olissa replied, her voice warm. "A little tired, but the morning sickness has been manageable so far."

Breaton's fingers traced gentle circles over her belly. "And how are our little ones doing?"

Olissa's smile grew wider. "They're kicking already. I can feel them moving around."

Buveur's quiet voice chimed in, "Guess they're already showing some spirit, huh?"

Breaton chuckled softly. "Looks like it. I can't wait to meet them."

"By the way, Breaton, when are you and Buveur going to head out to rescue Merry?" Olissa asked.

"Ah, good question, Olissa," Breaton replied, his brow furrowed in thought. "To be honest, we're not sure yet. We'll need to speak with Director  Gus and get the green light before we can proceed with the rescue mission. We also need more details about Fi-Six and his demon Elis, so we know exactly what we're up against."

Buveur's voice chimed in, "Yeah, and we don't want to rush in blind. We need a solid plan in place if we're going to get Merry out safely."

Breaton nodded in agreement. "Exactly. Let's focus on gathering all the information we can and then we'll make our move. We'll get Merry back, I promise."

"That's good to know, by the way you need a shower you stink, and After you finish showering join me in the bed." Olissa said with a small smile.

Breaton headed towards the shower,

Olissa called out, "And don't think you're getting out of telling me everything after you're all clean!"

Breaton chuckled, the sound fading as he stepped into the shower, the warm water washing away the tension and grime. He let out a sigh of relief, feeling somewhat rejuvenated.

Breaton emerged from the shower, a towel wrapped around his waist. "Much better?" he asked, catching Olissa's gaze.

"Now, come to bed and got some rest, but before we go to sleep I... I want you to, Make love to me." Olissa said her face blushing red.

Breaton's heart hammered a little faster at her whispered request. He dropped the towel and slipped beneath the covers, pulling her gently against him. The soft lamplight illuminated the tenderness in his eyes as he looked down at her.

"Are you sure this is what you want?" he asked, his lips finding hers.

"Yes it's what we both need" Olissa responded

The kiss was slow and deep, a silent amidst the chaos of their world. They moved together with an unspoken understanding, the world outside falling away until the only things that existed were their whispered breaths and the rhythmic beat of their hearts.
