Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Stacy's POV

A few days to the wedding, but there was no word from Kai. The worst part of it all was the fact that my wolf still didn't want to accept him.

"We're going to be getting married, and mated to him in a few days, so you better find a way of making him your favourite person, do you understand me?" I questioned, going she would, but she repeated the same thing.

"No, no I'm not going to actually do that. I know how it feels to lose someone, but he's not the one for you, why can't you listen to me?"

"Because I love him, and we're going to get married, have our own babies, maybe even capture more territories!" I explained, breathing hard, but as soon as she kept silent again, I felt the airy feeling I had been trying to let go off for the past few days.

My chest hammered, and I looked around, hoping it would go away. The feeling that I was always being lost was just too much for me to bear.

"No, it's all in my head, it's all in my head!" I exclaimed, trying so hard to be calm, but it didn't seem to work out.

Suddenly, I closed my eyes, pressing my hands so tight that my fingers sunk into my palms.

"Just go away, leave me alone, please..." I pleaded so hard. This time, my hands moved to my ears, and I tried to ignore the screeching sound I heard until it stopped.

My chest moved like my fast beating heart, my eyes slowly starting to open as I turned my head towards where I heard the sound coming from.

However, the moment my eyes opened fully, my heart skipped a beat. There was a claw mark on my window.

"Ahhh!" I screamed, standing up from the bed as I rushed out of my room, hoping my father would be able to help me.

I had been telling him I was being watched, but he kept saying it wasn't possible, maybe this claw mark would finally make him believe me.

"Father..." I called, barging into his home office. At this point, I didn't really care what he thought. I was scared for my safety.

"Dad, it happened again..." I explained, still trying to catch my breath.

He raised his head up from the work he was doing, his eyes resting on me.

"What?" He asked, his eyes fixed on mine. I saw he cared, but then he was still really curious.

"Me being watched. I swear, there's something definitely wrong, and I know it. There's now a claw mark on my window."

My father relaxed his back on the chair, his eyes never leaving mine.

"Did you actually see who left the mark there?" He asked with raised brows, and there was silence for a few seconds.

"No, no I didn't, but..."

"Then maybe you should relax a bit. I'm sure there's an explanation for everything. Now that you're saying it, what if it's just a rogue?" He kept shut, waiting for my answer, and when I didn't give one, he continued.

"I'm not trying to say your fears are invalid. I am your father, and I am scared to lose you, but then you have to understand I would also do anything to protect you."

I nodded, hoping he would say something. "I have made sure no rogue would be able to penetrate this pack house, but if they managed to, then we really need to be careful because we really don't know who or what is after you."

He paused, and then sighed.

"You have to stay indoors, and even if you want to go out, make sure it's important, probably for Kai, and then you have to make sure to go with guards that can protect you."

I nodded. He was right. I just had to be careful in order to not get into the middle of it all.

All the while I tried to give Kai space, but not that my father had mentioned it, I decided to go see him.

"Dad, I'd like to go see Kai today. It had been so long I said to him, and maybe I could tell him about this so he can be aware."

"That would be nice. I'll organise guards who'll go with you. I really don't want anything else to harm my daughter no matter what."

A few hours later, I was heading for the Denvort's mansion. I looked forward to seeing him, but at the same time I was scared about what happened the last time, his harshness, and the rest.

"I hope he'll give me a chance to see him this time," I added, trying to calm my head.

"He's not what?"

"He's not in. He went on a business meeting, and I'm not so sure when he's returning,"I was told by the butler, making me so angry.

"I'll wait for him I guess.." I explained, but as the butler was about to leave, I decided to ask him another question.

"Did Kai go with his brother, or--'

He shook his head, informing me of Liam's presence.

"No, Liam is in the study."

I nodded, and since there wasn't really anyone to talk to, I decided to go do some investigations with him.

I made my way to the office, knocking gently on the door as I wished for a response.

"Come on," his voice seemed neutral, but the moment I walked in, I noticed the gaze he gave me.

"Good day...' I greeted my eyes fixed on him, and without caring for a response, I added. "I have a few questions to ask."

He frowned, his eyes returning to the work on his desk, but I didn't care.

"I want to know why your brother has been acting weird. Did you tell him anything about me?" I asked, but he didn't respond.

"What happened to him, I'm talking to--"

Both our eyes were turned towards the door when we heard someone barge into the office.

"There's an attack from the rouges, and they are about to breach the fence." The guard who was almost out of breath struggled to explain.
